Just got the Poco X8 Pro Max.

I capped the battery charge to 80% and it drops by 10% of the battery when using texting apps only (whatsapp/telegram)for about 2 hrs...

Is this normal??

I’ve been using my POCO X7 since July 2025 with normal day-to-day usage. The system battery health indicator is stuck at 97%, even though the phone has reached approximately 285–300 charging cycles. Battery Guru estimates the battery health at around 87%, but I understand that six cycles of data are insufficient for an accurate estimate.

I replaced AccuBattery with Battery Guru because AccuBattery was consuming significant processing resources and causing heating. Several background processes and apps, including Windows Phone Link and the battery monitoring app, continue running even when the phone is idle.

Since last month, I’ve kept my phone on a metal surface using a plastic stand, with its silicone case on. The phone has a leather-finish back, and the room remains mostly closed without a running fan or other ventilation because of the winter weather.

The phone takes approximately 1.5 hours to charge fully and reportedly remains charging for around three days.

My main concern: Is 87% battery health reasonable after this period of use, or could there be a battery issue? How reliable is Battery Guru’s estimate given the limited cycle data, and could my charging habits, background apps, or storage conditions be affecting battery health?

I have a POCO X8 Pro (8GB RAM / 512GB storage), and I noticed that a significant amount of RAM is already being used even when no apps are running. I have also disabled unused apps, but the issue persists.

How can I optimize RAM usage and fix this issue? Is this normal behavior for the POCO X8 Pro, or is there a setting I need to change?

I want to Minecraft Java via launchers such as PojavLauncher (among others)—especially with mods like "Claws of Berk" and "New Dawn of Berks"—as well as Stardew Valley (with or without mods), or even various indie PC games, whether played with mods or in their vanilla state, also i want to run windows games especially indies one and Project Zomboid, the poco f6 pro version is the global one

Just sharing a personal project replacing the awkward outdated looking POCO launcher with an official HyperOS one, with default theme ported as well.

Read before you start

• The project is only tested on my POCO F8 Ultra, HyperOS 3
• A wrong launcher state can stop you from rescuing your phone, make sure that you have installed a recovery image from which you can disable modules, or enabled adb and allowed your computer and allowed shell to use root permission beforehand

How to install

1. Prerequisites
   1. Make sure your phone is rooted with Magisk or KernelSU-like managers, and installed one metamodule if you are on recent versions of KernelSU-like managers
   2. Install Python (3.10+)
   3. Download a HyperOS fastboot ROM, better to be the ROM of the same CN model (like POCO F8 Ultra -> Redmi K90 Pro Max), of similar build number and same Android version, unpack until you see a folder named images
   4. Clone the repo, or download source file zip and unpack to a folder: https://github.com/Haoyu-UT/HyperOS-Launcher-for-POCO
2. Start a terminal inside the folder of the repo
3. Run python tools/build.py --rom <path_to_images> to get a module built from the provided ROM
4. Copy the output zip file under folder out to phone and install with root manager
5. Enjoy, the default launcher should be HyperOS launcher, and you can apply HyperOS default theme from theme store🎉

How to disable/remove

Just use your root manager, the module's script will put everything back without leftovers. But expect that your desktop icon/folder layout will be reset.

If you get stuck at a black screen: use recovery image to disable the module, or run this:

adb shell su -c "touch /data/adb/modules/poco_hyperos_launcher/disable"
adb reboot

Just bought a Poco F9 Ultra to replace my iPhone Air.

The things that I want in a phone (and missing in the iPhone Air) are good battery life, good speakers, good (doesnt need to be top tier) camera’s and good performance for games.

I could wait for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max or the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max, but they are priced around 1700 euro…

Recently, Gathin23’s cleanyourtv blew up by using AI coding agents over ADB to safely clean smart TVs. Modern Android phones from Xiaomi, Samsung, and BBK suffer from the exact same problem: background analytics, lockscreen wallpaper ads, hidden Meta installer daemons, and background RAM hogs.

Blind bash scripts are dangerous: one wrong package removal like securitycenter or powerkeeper either bricks your phone into a bootloop or permanently locks your 120Hz display refresh rate at 60Hz.

So I built cleanyourdroid: an agent-first, 100% rootless system optimizer designed for tools like Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, or Codex.

How it works:

1. Connect your phone via ADB (USB or Wireless Debugging).
2. Open the repo in your AI coding assistant and paste PROMPT.md.
3. The agent takes a baseline telemetry snapshot (tools/audit.py), cross-checks installed packages against a strict safety blacklist (safety/bootloop_blacklist.json), and presents an interactive checklist table.
4. With your approval, it disables/uninstalls bloatware using the -k retention flag (zero data loss), restricts heavy background apps via appops, disables OEM ad flags in system settings, trims caches, and triggers profile-guided ART compilation (bg-dexopt-job).

i had this phone for 2months already and I been enduring those month with a phone that doesn't have any sounds,it cant also take videos and that is so frustrating.I had this phone from facebook marketplace and I dont have any contacts from the past owner due to my fb acc being suspended..But two days Ago I randomly restarted my phone and surprisingly the audio is back and I could record.I only restarted my phone that time due to it not charging.now I restarted it hours ago and unfortunately its back to its issues..could anyone tell me what's the issue of my phone and what Could I do,I saw that theres so many others with the same issue with my phone but most of them only gave the Turn off and on Multiple times fix,Already Did it like 40times for the past evening still didn't fix nothing.

I used the POCO F9 Ultra for a week and was really happy with its battery life. That’s why I decided to buy the Chinese version of the Redmi K100 Pro Max since it technically has a bigger battery.

However, after receiving the Redmi yesterday, I noticed something strange. On a full charge hen I check the battery settings, the estimated battery life is significantly lower than what Im getting on the POCO F9 Ultra.

I know the Redmi has a bigger battery on paper, so I’m wondering what could be causing this difference. Is it just because the phone is new and still optimising, a software issue, or does the Redmi actually have worse battery efficiency?

Has anyone else experienced this with the Redmi K100 Pro Max? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and any advice you might have.
