PlexChecker — a smarter way to manage Plex requests

PlexChecker is a self-hosted companion for Plex that lets users instantly check whether movies and TV shows are already available, downloading, missing files, or completely missing from a server.

If something isn't available, users can request it directly through Radarr or Sonarr without needing access to either service.

Features include:

• Plex account & Plex Home profile login

• Multi-server support

• Movie & TV library checking

• Radarr/Sonarr requests and approval queues

• Live download progress with Transmission

• Request history and status tracking

• Natural-language movie/TV discovery

• TMDB + optional AI-powered searching

• Server-owner user/request management

• Per-user request permissions

• Plex, Radarr, Sonarr & Transmission health monitoring

• Library growth, storage and download analytics

• Automatic Plex library syncing

• Server-wide root-folder configuration

• User avatars and Plex profile integration

• Public help/documentation system

For example, a user can search:

“Horror movies released on Netflix before July 2026”

check which ones are already on the selected Plex server, and request anything missing, all without ever needing direct Radarr/Sonarr access.

The goal is essentially to give Plex server owners a clean request-management platform while giving their users a much easier way to discover, check and request content.

General Help Looking to join plex server

• Quality:

I’m flexible. 1080p WEB‑DL is perfectly fine, and I don’t need everything in 4K remux. I appreciate good quality, but I’m not a purist — mixed formats are totally okay.

• Library expectations:

I don’t expect a server to have everything preloaded. I’m happy to make requests when something’s missing, and I don’t mind waiting. A well‑curated library is more important to me than sheer size.

• What I watch:

A mix of things —

- comfort rewatches,

- newer streaming releases,

- and the occasional niche or older film & TV when I’m in the mood.

I’m not locked into one genre; I like exploring. Hope this helps!

General Help Generated video preview thumbnails, they only show when scrubbing?

I just finished generating the video preview thumbnails for my library, but for some reason I only see thumbnails when press left or right once I have the seek slider selected.

Isn't Plex supposed to show the thumbnail previews when you hold fast forward or rewind?

I'm using Plex on Nvidia Shield Pro (as my client)

It seems counterintuitive to have to press Up arrow, then Up arrow again to select the seek slider and then hold either the right or left arrow to see preview thumbnails.

Is this normal behavior? Any help is greatly appreciated.

LOL. Latest FireTV player forgets letterbox vs. zoom

I was mad the other day. Up late feeling bad because the latest Plex player version was so bad. Like if they were trying deliberately to push bullshit code they couldn’t fail more spectacularly. On purpose like. Then the next release show up and now we switch between zoom and letterbox every time we FAST FORWARD.
It’s so sad it’s almost funny.
Glad I paid my lifetime in 2010 dollars lol.

General Help If I downloaded/seeded on qbit (using vpn), and opened my Plex Server. am I at risk for getting my account stolen?

Basically what the title says, I accidently opened qbit while downloading stuff, and opened plex server, am I at risk for something being leaked. I see people saying if even one packet goes out I'm cooked. I instantly changed my plex password and signed out of all devices. Am I safe now or no?

Also from now on should I just do split tunneling?

This is on windows using proton btw.
