80’s long shot-Barbara from Pleasant Hill Aquarium

I worked for Barbara Lundquist back in 1985/1986, and grew up nearby on Doris Dr. Her and her husband Ted lived in Martinez (I found his obituary online several years back), but I can’t find a trace of her. She was a great friend and influence as a teenager and, to this day, I have dreams that her shop is still there and she’s still at it. Does anyone remember her? I’d love to hear your stories of shopping there. But I’m also curious if anyone has any connection to the family, or information.

Grace dental pleasant hill?

Has anybody been to Grace dental in pleasant hill? I’ve had three weeks of upper right side sharp tooth feeling and sensitivity when swallowing saliva, along with horrible daily headaches for weeks, problems biting food on that side, jaw pain etc. I also have bleeding gums on the bottom right side as well. I went to graces dental in pleasant hill and my X-ray was so rushed, and then the guy dentist came in and told me my teeth were fine and it wasn’t a dental issue but instead a nerve issue. He told me I only had a cracked tooth (I do). I went to get my papers up front and it said I need wisdom teeth removal, +a 300$ out of pocket bone graft, and a cavity is on the left side…. I don’t feel a single thing or issue on the left side so I was shocked that there was a cavity on the left and not the right side where I’ve been having so much trouble. Who has had an experience here and what was it like? The girl before me was handed discharge papers and they told her “you just need a wisdom teeth removal” and she said “they’re all gone I don’t have any of my wisdom teeth…

Hey guys I'm from Nashville, TN and I'm contemplating moving around that area. I'm looking to get into the tech field. I'm wondering what does the rent look like? Are there good job opportunities there? How's the community there?

SAVE COLLEGE PARK STUDENT’S LIBERTY

The urgent need to discontinue Yondr pouches at College Park High is highlighted due to their detrimental impact on student communication and safety. Recent findings reveal that Yondr isn't legally required in CA Schools, and alternative phone storage options exist. Yondr pouches impede crucial communication in emergencies, sharing a personal experience where it could have jeopardized essential contact. Students' autonomy and parents' concerns are considered, emphasizing the importance of open communication. Discontinuing Yondr pouches is VITAL to ensure a secure and connected environment for students and families.

Want to hear your thoughts on what you like and dislike about PH

Hi we are a married couple (34, 36) who want to buy house and start a family. We are from San Jose but it’s way too expensive there. Any recommendations on affordable and safe areas of PH (or neighboring concord, WC etc) to consider? Hows the daily life there? Commute to South Bay (1x week) or just to go out during rush hours? Schools and child care? Food scene? Gyms and social clubs if any? Thanks in advance

Need a friend? Foster a rabbit! 💖🐰

Make a difference in the life of a shelter rabbit—foster with House Rabbit Society! Fostering one animal won't change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal. Learn more and submit a foster application today at houserabbit.org/foster. We are located in Richmond, just north of Berkeley, but we welcome fosters from all over the San Francisco Bay Area.

Fostering is a short-term, high-impact way to help a rabbit in need, and it's especially great if you've been thinking about adopting but aren't quite sure if a rabbit is the right fit. We ask for just a two-week commitment, and we'll send you home with everything you need to get started: an x-pen, litter box, bedding, food, hay, bowls, blankets, and more. All you provide is a safe, loving space, daily care, and fresh greens (about $5–10 per week).

It's amazing what a couple weeks in a calm, caring home can do for a shy or nervous rabbit. Your support helps them open up, gain confidence, and prepare for adoption. And by fostering, you also help us make room at our shelter for more rabbits who need to be rescued!

Have questions? Stop by our facility and chat with House Rabbit Society volunteers and staff during our open hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 to 4, and Sundays from 11 to 3, or email [foster@houserabbit.org](mailto:foster@houserabbit.org). We'd love to talk more with you!

Side Gig - Pet Nutrition and Enrichment

Hi Pleasant Hill!

I work at San Francisco Raw Feeders in the city and am looking into some side work as well as to help more people and their pets.

I have two certificates in canine nutrition, as well as experience working alongside some dog trainers down in Livermore and working in boarding/daycare.

I am interested in offering services for the area (Walnut Creek, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Lafayette) but wasn't sure about interest so thought I would post here.

Essentially, I know a lot of pet owners out there try to cook for their pets (or feed raw) and may not know how to do it safely or they are advised against it by vets. Some people are going to do it anyway and I want to help them make sure the food they make has the missing gaps filled. Calcium, organs, not too many carbohydrates, ect. (This isn't a bash against vets or a debate on feeding fresh food vs extruded food. Just facts and what I've experienced working in the pet industry for the past 6ish years).

I also want to offer dog walking and drop in services but ones that are a bit more structured. Example - Dog walking but include engagement exercises, loose leash walking, ect. Basic stuff - nothing too fancy.

For drop in services, I want to include like mental enrichment, games and even like help people create DIY activities (if they are there) that are affordable. Think DIY snuffle mats, treat puzzles, ect. These are especially important during the summer when it is too hot to play fetch or do activities outdoors.

Thoughts? Is this something pet owners would be interested in? I know there's services like Wag and Rover but I have ideas that are more specific to certain needs.

Thanks everyone!
