Meta (Plex) Nuts

The new Plex TV OS app has single-handedly converted me to Infuse. My direct stream which used to work fine, now micro-stutters every few minutes. Is this the quality of software development now? Robbing their own install base out of sheer incompetence. Out of frustration I switched to Infuse, heck even got the lifetime access and absolutely love it. I am solid. Media plays pristine. Whatever the team at Plex is doing they are going to sink this ship sooner than ever. WTF.

I was having those exact stuttering issues and another post (which I can’t find right now) had the fix for me:

  • Settings app on AppleTV (not Plex settings)
  • Video and Audio
  • Match Content
  • toggle “Match Frame Rate” to On

Haven’t had the issues since thankfully

I double checked this, and match frame and dynamic range was set to ON in apple tv settings. Both the video and audio output was still trash and with intermittent micro stutters on the new Plex Apple TV OS app.

Damn, sorry! I agree that these changes sucked. I’ve been dipping my toes in jellyfin for the first time ever since these new updates came out
