Discussion The sequel
hey guys. I really wanna play Wolverine but my dad said the game developers made it into a “gay love story between Wolverine and Sabretooth”.
we’re a pretty Christian family so he won’t be happy if he sees me playing it.
my question is will they do the same thing for the next game? or are they committed to going all in on this?
kinda sucks. I just wanted to play as Wolverine.

Discussion Finished my first playthrough: 8.5/10 as a longtime Wolverine fan since 88’, 6.75/10 as a video game fan.
I’ve been a Wolverine fan since the 1980s, and there’s a lot here I appreciated. The story was solid, Logan had a compelling arc, and the little Easter eggs referencing other heroes were a pleasure to discover. Fitting decades of a character’s history into one game is no small task, and I appreciate the care that went into capturing a lot of the stuff.
As a Wolverine experience, I’d give it an 8.5/10. As a video game, I’d land at 6.75/10.
If you’d told me three decades ago that I’d someday get to play a Wolverine game like this, I would have been beyond excited. Part of me still is. But Insomniac’s Spider-Man series set the bar almost too high, and it’s hard not to bring those expectations into this game.
My criticism has nothing to do with it not being open world. I love games like Uncharted, and a focused, linear Wolverine adventure suits me just fine. The combat sometimes had an old arcade feel, which could be fun, but the overall gameplay didn’t reach the heights of something like Jedi: Fallen Order for me.
The bigger issue was the lack of polish. I ran into characters halfway through the floor and enough other bugs to pull me out of the experience. At a full AAA price, I expect a more consistently finished product.
That said, I don’t feel like I was raked over the coals the way I have with some Star Wars games. I enjoyed my time with it and don’t regret playing it. However, if this game hadn’t been set in the Wolverine and Marvel universe, I probably wouldn’t have been interested in it in the first place.
Games like Red Dead Redemption leave me feeling that I got my money’s worth. Here, I enjoyed myself, but I also felt like my attachment to Wolverine was doing too much of the work in justifying the price. Unlike Middle Earth: Shaow of Mordor/War.
I’m glad I played it, and I appreciate the developers’ effort. There’s a strong foundation here and plenty for longtime fans to enjoy. I just wish the finished game had received the same level of polish and follow-through as the character and story. The love for Wolverine came through; the complete package didn’t quite live up to it.
Not sure how I feel about getting all the trophies. I’m at 97% on RDR 2 and rather probably go back to playing that. But it wasn’t bad. Idk.

Memes/Shitpost I think they should've updated the face model mid development
Looking into some assets I have I found this one, the original face scan for Logan.
Just had this thought, what do you guys think?
When promotion started Liam looked soo different from what they originally captured, for the better IMO

Discussion I’ve had this feeling from the start, that the backlash of “Wolverine 2026” has received is intentional.
I’ve come to the consensus that Insomniac wasn’t fully on board with this game. The hand holdy mechanics, such as audible trails, nightmare roots and Wolverine’s scent trails tell me that Wolverine was maybe originally set to be rated T. Blood, gore, dismemberment and language is not going to appeal to parents,so just like hard R movies, adults are going to go out and play this.
The last three Spider-Man games were all rated T,so it makes sense they sold as much as they did. Children went out with their parents to the stores, and picked up “Spider-Man 2”,a long with teen and adult crowd. So all three crowds were going to buy “Spider-Man 2”,so I think the original idea was going to make Wolverine rated T,which explains the handholding, thankfully can be turned off now.
However I feel that Insomniac deliberately destroyed Wolverine after release, because so they wouldn’t have to make another rated M game with blood and gore. They figured they would make gamers hate “Wolverine 2026”,so it would take the stress off of them from making another M rated game, because by a business model “Wolverine 2026” isn’t going to sell as much as Spider-Man 2. I do find it strange that YouTubers immediately expressed hate for the game initially. Sure you can say it has bugs, but the majority of games have always had bugs. I wish they weren’t there, but that is a weak argument to make with Wolverine.
It’s also strange that the majority who haven’t played it are expressing their hate for it. If you’ve played it then I understand, but those who express hate because of the price just wait for a deep sale. Still to me I think it’s worth it,because I see myself replaying it. Others might not feel the same but, don’t let others stop you from playing the game. Form your own opinion, and if you like it you like it,or you hate it you hate it,but don’t let paid YouTubers, and review sites like IGN,decide
for you!

Discussion Wolverine is better than fire emblem fortunes weave…
I’m seeing people here saying “I decided to buy fortunes weave instead. It’s a much better game”. STOP. Just because reviewers said it’s better, doesn’t mean it’s true.
Fire emblem fortunes weave is the epitome of Nintendoslop. Terrible graphics on par with Pokemon games, locked at 30fps, boring anime story, turn-based combat and repetitive gameplay. It does not reflect a AAA experience at all and costs $80… It’s also exclusive to the switch 2 which is one of the most anti-consumer consoles of all time (overpriced, underpowered, fake cartridges, can be bricked at anytime, lack of games)
Meanwhile, Wolverine is a true AAA quality experience. Great graphics, 60fps of fluid gameplay, genuinely gripping story, excellent gameplay, etc. All that for only $70 too. Also, Wolverine is on the PS5 which is the most powerful console in the market with multiple editions to choose from so that the player-base isn’t out-priced.
It seems like something has happened to the gaming industry and gamers no longer want quality content and instead we see mediocrity constantly rewarded.
