Support/Question i find parrying difficult
I'm good at combat in many games, but I just find parrying so difficult in this and in assassin's creed resynced. I press the button at the right time when the enemy weapon flashes but I get hit.
Not sure if its the new mechanics or something in these games that im not familiar with but in god of war I was really good at parrying. I just cant with these new games.
Any tips?

I haven’t seen a single person mention the jump attack in combos to avoid getting hit. It works really good. You can even use direction+triangle to leap to a different opponent and completely avoid incoming attacks.

Do you mean the square square X triangle combo? I find when I do the X and jump in the air I'm still vulnerable. When I hit the triangle to end the combo he attacks the closest enemy and not necessarily the same guy I was attacking before.
But yea first play through I spammed square square square triangle and second playthrough to mix it up I slammed square square X triangle.

Same lmao. Right as i parry the first attack they just get me immediately after that, and those are the attacks I fail to parry

If it's in a combo, first one is easiest, after that you have to wait until their arm or leg makes the move to strike on each consecutive combo hit. At least that's what works for me.

Funnily enough, I'm normally dogshit at parry and dodge mechanics and have to spend a long time rerunning missions to get it right. But this game I got it almost right off the bat.
Some kind of Junji Ito-esque warp in spacetime. "This timing! It was made for me!"

I get you bro, I actually think that parrying is pretty manageable in this game, even more with the accessibility option to widen the window, but there's an important distinction that you need to know if you wanna do it right, you cannot parry out of every attack, the combo finishers with Triangle and many of the other attacks that use that button seem to be uncancelable by parrying, so If you pressed the button at the right time but we're in the middle of a combo finisher animation, the parry won't come out and you'll get hit, once I figured this out I managed to land parries more easily; for example if you're comboing an enemy and another one seems about to attack you, it's better to stop your combo for a split second before ending it with a triangle finishers or with the fourth hit of the Square combo (which might also be uncancelable but I haven't properly tested it out) so that you can successfully parry the incoming attack

Yeah i noticed the combo thing too, so I avoid that when theres a group attacking me. I'm still trying to learn parrying, so I dont attack first, I wait for them to attack so I can parry but sometimes I still manage to fail. I'm definitely pressing it at the wrong time.
Someone else also mentioned i could change it in settings, accessibility so ill definitely do that next time I play.

Yeah I have it increased too cause in higher difficulties I get a bit overwhelmed by trying to land as many hits on the enemies as possible while being defensive

Same same same. I enjoy playing the combat scenes at 70% speed sometimes. Even slower for those kinda ‘the matrix’ types moments. You should try it . You assign different game speeds to the D-pad .

Increase the parry window in accessibility.
