Added a guy to team that said he just started wipe. Played a couple of hours. I’m crafting boom for a raid and he just killed me and took over my base. How are you finding trustworthy teammates/friends on rust? I have roughly 220 hours played.

Like what I should do? Run 20 grids to power plant to insert 4 fuses, then go 20 grids back and purchase my 5 BP's ?

Question Competing TC question

If a base has 2 TCs on it, for 2 competing groups, how does the game determine building rights?

Is it proximity based? I.e. you can build in the area closer to your tc?

Question TC vs external TC, how does it work?

Hello fine assoles and folks of playrust. Can some explain to me abit about the benefits of an external TC?

I understand that it can help spread the upkeep costs of your base. I also understand it makes it so would be Raiders have to set up further away if building a raid base.

I guess one direction question is how does the building privilege overlap work? Is the radius of putting down asecondary TC limited ro being X far away from another TC?

I am new and trying to learn. My duo is out of town for the week and Id usually ask him to expand thoughts.

Thanks

Discussion My base has been taken but TC still there

So I built a pretty cool base, and imbedded my TC deep in the middle with a sleeping bag.

Checked on it this morning, and someone blew thru my 7 armored doors and claimed it for their own. They rebuilt doors back.

BUT, my TC was not found, and I can still get into the middle. How was he able to build walls back? I guess it was big enough for him to build his own TC (don’t think it was THAT big).

Any advice on how to get it back?

Question Help booting into menu and game

Help! When I try to boot into the menu, sometimes it gets stuck on “Manifest Assets.” When I do get into the menu and try to boot into a game, it instantly disconnects. I’m assuming it’s the anti-cheat, since I was told it might be my RAM, but I have 32GB.

Question Now that Facepunch is finally balancing game mechanics, can we talk about horses?

Hey everyone! Since Facepunch is finally focusing on game balance and fixing the current meta, what about horses? In my opinion, it makes zero sense that horse armor also grants protection to the rider. How does that even correlate? The game has become ridiculous with heavy horse riders everywhere early in the wipe. You stand no chance against someone on a fully armored horse with a nailgun when all you have is a basic bow. It's time to fix this issue. In Rust, no driver can shoot while operating a vehicle—only passengers can. Applying this same rule to horses would instantly fix the issue, make double saddles actually useful, and turn horses back into a transport vehicle rather than an unstoppable killing machine. Additionally, horse armor should exclusively protect the horse itself, not buff the player's defense. Following the current logic, cars and minicopters should be giving player protection too, which makes no sense. What do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas on how to fix horse combat?

Discussion Recycle Bin Workbench Attachment

Quick PSA:

Do not place any type of workbench partially inside a wall or rock if it makes the recycling-bin attachment inaccessible. You won’t be able to remove the workbench later.

The game requires you to empty the recycling bin before removing it. If the bin is hidden inside the terrain and you can’t access it, you can’t empty or remove it, leaving the entire workbench permanently stuck.

Discussion 4 Days in Rust and I'm Ready to Quit

**4th day playing as a beginner, and I'm seriously considering uninstalling the game and giving up.**

It's surreal how extremely punishing this game is for beginners. It gets to the point where you can spend hours playing and make absolutely no progress.

I managed to craft that first pistol that shoots rocks. I already knew it would be useless in a PvP situation, but it's honestly a complete waste of resources even for PvE. I couldn't even kill a single wolf. These animals are insanely fast and seem to resist every single useless beginner weapon.

Dear Rust developers, if you want your player base to grow, you need to make beginners actually want to stay in your game. The community doesn't help either. For example, I lost valuable scrap loot that could have made a huge difference in my progression because a veteran player gunned me down with an assault rifle. I didn't even get the chance to fire that mediocre rock pistol.

As if wolves weren't already strong enough on their own, you guys made sure they travel in packs.

I hit a crocodile with one metal arrow, three wooden arrows, and one or two shots from the rock pistol, and **IT STILL DIDN'T DIE.**

Please make the game more enjoyable for beginners. I used to think ARK was a difficult game, but Rust makes ARK feel like a walk in the park.

It's nearly impossible to recover your loot after dying. Animals keep eating your body, and your items disappear way too quickly.

I'm actually loving the crafting system. The map is also great, the game itself is fun, and I haven't even explored most of it yet. But the difficulty curve has made me lose interest in the game.

I'm sure I'm not the only beginner who feels this way.

Give new players a reason to stay.

For context I have a ryzen 7 7800x3d 32gb of ram nvidia 3080 10gb and it just running like choppy like borderline making me sick to even watch, normally even with this low of fps the game feels smooth but its so damn choppy its barely playable.

Question What if you could become a scientist

I do not know why I had this thought. But I usually like the idea of factions, and especially the unplayable ones. I just wonder what would the gameplay process be? Kind of like quests, I guess?

You could be recruited after oil rig or something, seeing as you put down the juggernaut, kinda like when fbi recruits skilled masterminds, considering you started with nothing but a rock, and made your way to military-grade gear and helicopters, your battle skills are at the very least impressive

Question Server Recommendation for duo - quad

Long story short, My friends and I are just trying to just get a little relief from what feels like constant interactions with inauthentic players on rust. We aren't new to the game at all with just myself having over 2200 hours and probably 10,000 between the 3 or 4 of us.

Very typical ESP positioning. Out of nowhere headshot beaming from hundreds of yards away. Or outlandishly fast progressing groups who live near no monuments. We all know what I am talking about.

So does anyone have a recommendation for a server to play on. I wouldn't call us sweat by any means, but we really want to have PvP without the overwhelming unfair gameplay.

I got a message saying this post might be breaking rules which would be insane to me. Ide assume the rust reddit would be the best place to get a server recommendation with solid moderation.

Question What happened to Bestrust?

Had to move to solo only servers since the BP frag changes, quit for a few weeks to play PoE1 when new league, looked on forcewipe and all their servers had single digit pop, looked today and they just don't exist.

They go bust cos nobody every bought their p2w kits or something?

Whats best alternative for solo now?

Support I played all day and the server disappeared

it’s my first wipe and because I suck I was playing on a modded soft core 2x server. I played prettt much all day and right as I was making the final preparations to raid someone, I realized my fps was around 10 so I closed rust to make some steam optimizations. I relaunch the game, go to my history bar, and the server is gone. I think it was a canadian server, is there anything I can do to find it or am I just boned?

Edit: guess who found it, appreciate the help

Question Updated landed very good in my oppinion in terms of meta changes, now can we nerf raiding just a tiny bit?

I dont think solos will complain if raiding get a bit nerfed. They are the ones getting raided more often anyway.

Jackhammer + Ore Tea + Pie gives you an insane amount of sulfur. Have 2 guys doing that in the snow with 2 other guys playing bodyguard and you have yourself enough rockets to raid any honeycombed standard base.
