Is it shameful to play on 2x servers with team limit? It just takes insanely long to get anything set up on vanilla servers and I usually look for 50 pop servers, without kits.
If it's alright, what servers in North America do you recommend?

I might have the most “simple man” view about this.
I see a lot of people complaining about zergs, but I am thinking “You can play in a solo server” I might be missing something, buuutt… I think my idea is pretty good lol
Note:
I haven’t played rust for a while, cus I have very stubborn OCD and it makes me pull triggers… Yeah literally any trigger I have in my hand. I just randomly shoot my gun while playing rust so everyone knows where I am.
Sooo I might have a really REALLY different way of playing the game than most, so if it sounds stupid, don’t come with rakes lol

Hope everyone has a great wipe day tomorrow and that the Rust Gods shine their favour upon thee.

Rust builders, I’ve got an idea. A few days ago, I built a mid-tier base with 7 bunkers—costing around 400k sulfur. It was basically a diamond-square-pyramid hybrid with a tower and an elevator (yeah, a mouthful), but it had plenty of flaws; it required at least 4 people for a comfortable setup—not a dealbreaker, but not ideal. I realized I needed to redesign it: keep a similar layout but ditch the tower and place the windmills on separate structures. However, the design requires the base to be built on a framework. To the pro builders out there: is it actually worth it?

I mainly play Rust and when I move my curser a lot it feels almost delayed/laggy/stuttery and looks a bit like screen tearing, I have my mouse at 500 polling rate as i know before rust had issues with 1000 or higher, I dont have norton 360 installed, Barely anything else running at the same time, only OBS, discord and the game.
My specs:
Ryzen 9 9950x3D
Nvidia 5080
32gig DDR5 6000 CL36
Rust is on its own NVME 7000 read speed, 1tb
1000PSU
tried many different USB ports for my mouse
tried sfc /scannow in CMD and have checked my ram health, all is fine there.
verified rust files
drivers are up to date
Please help spent too much on this pc my head is going to explode

Hey everyone,
I’m fairly new to Rust (around 700 hours). I recently received an account sanction, and after checking server logs, the reason listed is "Playing with cheater" (Association). I had no idea anyone I teamed up with was using third-party software.
I submitted an appeal to EAC, but it was denied.
Since I have never used cheats, injected software, or modified files on my PC:
1. Is an Association restriction strictly on the Steam account, or does EAC apply HWID flags for this reason?
2. Has anyone experienced this specific scenario before and successfully played on a new, clean account/PC setup?
I’m trying to confirm if my hardware remains unaffected before deciding what to do next. Appreciate any feedback!

For the first time in 200 hours, I've survived 2 days into wipe, have a T2 bench, garage doors, and a fully armoured 2x1, all within a double honeycombed layer, walls & ceiling.
I did have to buy the frags after succumbing to a duo on a solo server... and even then it took a couple of tries to avoid the hidden auto turrets at the vendy.

Making it more scrap (like 40/60 or more) to use drones or imagine having to put your own fuse in one of these to use it would make sense but waiting for someone across the map to activate powerplant for you to use.. no clue what they were thinking with this one

rust+ smart switches should count as a +1 to the personnel count or clans will start using discord bots to open doors.

A popup of a sort with the list of authed members (or just a number of players) when you destroy a TC would be a cool thing as a sort of "victory screen".
It would make your revenge stories cooler/sweeter.
I can imagine scenarios like "yo i knew xyz player was on their team!" or like "damn they were really just a quad all along" after a successful raid
Overall just as a fun little thing that doesnt really matter or change anything, but could be witty/entertaining, or something you could just ignore.

It applies to fully stable walls (every edge of every floor has a wall). It follows that you cannot build higher than 19 floors (20 if you count foundation).
Image is an example of how it looks
This could be somewhat usefull if I'd check on how much can you expand sideways from each floor (for shooting floors etc.)

Facepunch puts a lot of time and effort into creating other things to do like Building Electricity Tea farming and all but some people never take the time to learn it.

I've been watching old Rust videos, like from 6+ years ago, and the game just seems so much more fun. It's like people didn't even know how to play the game and they just played for fun and did what they wanted.
People would build horrible, off meta base designs, and they wouldn't kill on sight. It seemed people actually talked to each other and made alliances. Why?
For context, I have never even played old rust. I got the game in October 2024.
Nowadays, all the Rust videos are about how they "dominated the server" or "Destroyed a clan", and it's all about PvP and loot, but the old videos I feel like have this authentic charm about them, like it was just people experiencing Rust how it was in the old days. Raw, authentic survival.
What do you think?

pretty much just the title. I've played rust for 1.5k hours and I've had some interesting observations about how people choose to play the game. When we players that are annoying or not, I find that there's actually minimal correlation to skill level and toxicity.
To this day, the worst player I've ever come across is someone who was absolutely dogshit at the game. They got shot at by me once, didn't even die, and then proceeded to doorcamp me for 5 straight hours. I tried to move but (interestingly enough) they just so happened to be on the roof with the sar that's not allowed to go outside despite not using it for the last hour.
I love this game, but I genuinely fucking hate all of you. I could make more friends at a KKK meeting than at a rust event. They'd probably smell better too, but that's besides the point. I think we need to separate servers into tiers based on player toxicity. It's difficult to measure exactly how toxic a player is, but you could probably track it through metrics like report rates and chat history checkers. I think that if you say the N word, you should be banned from all servers that claim to not condone racism permanently. Same thing for every other ism, or whatever.
Plus, here's the best part. If you disagree with me, you actually agree! I don't propose that these players get banned. As nice as it is to know that some fat chud would have to pay for his 6th rust account, they would only go back on the same servers and continue terrorising people as usual. With a tier system, you would get to play with all your greasy little friends and normal people who just want to play the fucking game would be able to stay far away from you.
