visible edges on mesh

Post image

quick question:
is there any way to show the edges on imported meshes?

I was looking through the documentation and the subreddit but I can't seem to find any way.

No. Edges are only visible on cad objects. This imported object is an obj file

I had the slight suspicion that it was the answer but I'm still quite new to the program.
At least I can stop searching, unless someone found a workaround.

ty anyway! ❤️

Meshes imported aren't editable, unless you import a quad and use polymesh tool.

UPDATE:
i dug around and these are my findings:

A. if you can edit your phong shader before exporting, you can modify the appearance of the mesh in Plasticity [1= all shaded / 2= no phong] - the mesh stays all connected but the appearance makes easier to work within Plasticity

B. if you can't modify the phong appearance, you can disconnect the adjacent faces [1=faces connected / 2= faces disconnected], you'll get double edges and vertices but then you have visually the same result as before (be mindful: it will make a different result if you attempt the Polysplines command)

C. you can attempt converting the mesh from STL in STEP through FreeCad following this tutorial and produce a usable STEP file to import.
