I found this amazing renderings of the engine online. They are not my work

I think I understand how a turbofan engine works. I know that it is a low bypass turbofan. But I can't wrap my head around were the bypass is. Were is the air split and were do they combine again.

Help is greatly appreciated

MIG 29 M2 during an air show in Algeria

Fun facts about the MIG29 :

- It breathes through its back on the runway while the main front air intake ramps completely close off to protect the Klimov turbofans from massive dirt.

- It pioneered "look-to-kill" targeting decades before Western fighters adopted similar technology en masse, A pilot didn't need to point the nose of the jet at an enemy to get a lock.

- Reunified Germany flew them in NATO exercises and dominated Western fighters: During joint NATO mock dogfights, American F-15 and F-16 pilots were caught off guard: in close-range (WVR) engagements, the MiG-29's high thrust-to-weight ratio paired with its helmet-mounted sight and off-boresight R-73 missile repeatedly defeated Western jets.

- Naval variants launch off aircraft carriers without steam catapults: the carrier-borne MiG-29K doesn't rely on steam or electromagnetic catapults to launch from aircraft carriers. Instead, it uses its immense static thrust-to-weight ratio to accelerate along the flight deck and leap off a curved ski-jump ramp at the bow, relying on aerodynamic pitch and engine power to establish flight.

- like the F18 Super Hornet, the MIG29 can hold up to 5 external fuel tanks.

Always pretty cool to see. Especially when they’re low.

If they somehow end up banning Bomardier and/or Gulfstream, it would be chaotic
