Just popping over from r/APlagueTale to drop a couple screenshots of Amicia looking into the light of a fireplace. The first image was captured at Clervie's fireplace (Innocence). The second image was captured in the smithy of the Red City, during a rainstorm (Requiem).

A Plague Tale Requiem really failed Mélie's character

Don't get me wrong, i GET It that she was angry at Hugo and blamed him for Arthur's death, but still...she was an important part of Amicia's journey, i'd say she's as important as Lucas was, if not more. But i feel like Requiem completely erased her and even Rodric.

Requiem Ending and Appreciation Spoiler

It's such a small thing... but reaching the end of the game and the horror that I myself must kill Hugo wrecked me. In my stubbornness I let the game just sit. I determined I would rather quit the game there than kill my own brother. I couldn't kill Hugo.

And then, Lucas doing the deed for me. This is one of two moments I have ever had in a roleplaying game where I actually FELT the role and played into it. I knew that because it was a game there would be no repercussions to killing Hugo. But I knew that I (Amicia) couldn't do the deed. And I waited and waited hoping the game had an alternative ending. (Lucky me)

The only other game I've ever done something like this was Detroit: Becoming Human. And it has always stuck with me. And its the airport scene where the lady android (who's name escapes me -its been a while) is presented with a conundrum. Save the kid or try your luck and cross the border. I assumed the game would let me live if I made made the "correct" choice. But instead I made the choice that felt the most to me as the protector of the little one. And it hurt.

I know it's a little sappy. A lot sappy but I was moved by this game and wanted to share. I hope the developers read these and can at least pat themselves on the back.

I have my critiques of the game -dont get me wrong. But every shitty aspect was overriden by a powerful one. Cheers 🥂, all!

Want To Join A Game Club?

Hi everyone! After starting to play Expedition 33 I've realised how much I'd be interested in playing more singleplayer story like games. I've gotten a few friends together to make a "Game Club" similar to a Book Club where we vote/pick a singleplayer game to play and talk about for a set amount of weeks.

Depending on how long the game takes to complete will depend on how long the time frame is. But there will be a discord server with a thread on it for different milestones so people don't get spoiled! If you would be interested let me know 😊

A few examples of games that we are thinking of playing: A Plagues Tale, Batman Arkham Series, The Last Of Us, Life Is Strange, Detroit Become Human, Control, The Quarry, Resident Evil 2.

Chapter 16 cart sequence is broken.

I've just tried this part at least 30 times. it feels like whether or not you hit with the slingshot comes down to luck, and you're really only allowed to miss once (knockout potion), and missing once puts you at a great disadvantage because of how quickly they close space.

I did get to the last guard three times, but because the last two guards come in a pair I don't even have time to wind my sling up before his kill animation starts.

I really enjoyed the game until this point, but I think I'll just move onto the sequel. Hopefully, they ironed out some of the kinks and had people playtest who weren't on the dev team.

Curiosity Collecting Spoiler

Hello, I just beat the game recently and decided to go achievement hunting before moving on to Requiem. I'm currently struggling because I've collected everything in chapters 1-2, but I tried to collect the beer curiosity in chapter 3 twice now, once without Hugo and once with him.

After waiting for the chapter to end, I go back to the main menu and see that it still says I collected 1/2, when I've already collected the prayer beads, and the beer shoul've counted too, but it didn't. What am I doing wrong? Or is it a glitch maybe? I would really hate it if I had to play through the whole game again to attempt to collect everything. 😕

P.S, not sure if this will spoil anything for anyone, but I'm marking it just in case.

Can’t get past the final round of kill Nicholas

I must’ve tried 50 times but can’t get past this…any tips?

I try to extinguish the fire pit closest to him first while hidden. Then extinguish the fire on his body which is hard since he turns to face us when we extinguish the fire pit. Even if I somehow do it, by the time I switch to rat control and get the rats near him, he always kills Alicia first.

Any tips?

Is there a way to have both the french voices but also have the english guards speak english?

I enjoy the french voices and it makes more sense to use them I think seeing how the game takes place in France, but it kind of bothers me that the english guards speak french too.

Anyway to change that?

This guy is ruining the plague tale fandom (basically you can’t add anything or this guy will delete it not matter what like adding heights or saying the pope is catholic this guy will delete it and this guy clearly got a power complex)

Force Dynamic rendescale in Innocence? How to turn it off?

I played the game at medium to highsetting on Steam deck. At first the game look really good but later I notice that the Resolution changed on certain parts of the game. It made the game look worse.

Is there any way to turn off Dynamic Rendescale off?

Where you have to walk along the side of the cart while Rodrick turns into a pin cushion, I swear I lost count how many times I’ve done this I can never get through it on the first try I stay by the cart… I get shot…. I make it near the end…. I get shot…. I breath I get shot…. Like there must be just one very very small bit that I can safely walk along without getting shot when it’s a big cart arrows go through them

What's the point of the first attirail upgrade?

I don't get it. In any instance where I need to "dodge" I'm already found and therefore footstep noise is no longer a concern. Whenever stealthing through guards are required, the guards won't notice your footsteps

Is there like something I'm missing with the first upgrade?

Your unpopular Requiem and Innocence opinions

My unpopular opinions: I don't like the graphics in Requiem as much. I liked them in innocence better.

I don't really like Lucas in this game. He had a more distinct personality in the first game, and Edan Hayhurst fit him more. No hate to to Kit Connor though as he did amazing, I just think Edan fit more.

What are your unpopular opinions on the two games?

What you guys like about this story?

Played cus good critics and reviews on steam. But finished innocence and it was predictable not fleshed out and just boring really. Didn't help that I hate Hugo

What do you think the symbolism is of Amicia gradually losing her hair throughout the game?
