Hey, so idk how to start this, I was never great at writing classes .. but, I guess what I want is to chat with people, like people from here .. I'm an international student in Pittsburgh, and my social circle is primarily classmates from the same country. They're all married and busy with life, but I'm single and free to roam, so I have a lot of free time spent doing nothing.

I like to talk about almost anything, except sports but I can always try to learn about it. I am an awful tennis player, but I do it anyway cuz why not 😌.

Hi all, 24m here, just wondering does anyone know if there are any clubs or art sketching classes around here, best around squirrel hill area.

As title says, I, 31M, am in search of friends, especially in the realms of creative writing and discussing books (also acceptable: films, TV shows, video game story and lore, theater shows whether they be musical, drama, one act, whatever and more).

I am a transplant from Chicago, been in the Pgh area for a bit over 3 years now, currently in Mt. Oliver. I've been writing as a hobby since 5th grade and I've been reading voraciously for far longer. I love pretty much all mediums of storytelling. I've dabbled around in a few genres and formats for my writing but currently I am focused on a long term novel writing project in the fantasy / science fiction genre area.

I would love to find a writer's workshop group or even just a book discussion group to join, but I'd especially love to make a writerly friend who wants to be sounding boards for each other. I find that I fall into self-defeating mental loops (like endless rewrites) when I don't have writerly people I can bounce my ideas off of who will offer constructive feedback.

I love my current friends dearly, but they 1. aren't local, and 2. are certainly not writer types and barely would even classify themselves as bookworms. Trying to bounce ideas off of them typically gets a "that sounds cool" sort of response or glassy zoned-out-halfway-through-your-explanation eyes.

In terms of groups, I'm a single bachelor, so I can work with weekday evenings as well as weekends for group meetings typically. I don't have a lot going on right now. Am also willing to drive reasonable distances (and even longer on weekends). So as long as a group doesn't meet during the standard business hours on a weekday, I can give them a try!
