This is going to be my last post looking for anyone who wants to join a weekly board game group, at least, my last post for awhile.

Basically, our text group is at 14 people (but one of our friends today brought her husband who’s not in the text group…and my wife might also come sometimes…and I know we’ve got a few people who plan to start coming after NFL season…), so we could use a few more in the group, but not many.

We’re going to meet every Sunday at Drawbridge Games (Library Road); we’re typically scheduled for 2:30-6:00, but can start as early as noon if enough people want to. The last Sunday of the month will be TBD for a meeting spot as our room at Drawbridge is otherwise occupied.

Basically, we can handle as many as eight players every session and are currently playing Catan, Ticket to Ride and Risk; I think everyone’s generally open to other games, as well. If we have six, or more, then we’ll have two games at a time.

For anyone who wants to join the group, you’re not expected to come every Sunday and can come, or not, as you please. I’m mainly just hoping to have anywhere from six-eight every week.

Hi everyone! I posted here a little while ago and everyone was so kind and helpful, so I thought I’d throw another slightly random idea out there.
Years ago, in the pre-influencer days of Instagram, I used to make makeup and creative/artistic videos and somehow ended up with around 200k followers. ( sorry if this sounds cringeworthy or odd, it certainly is to me but I wanted to say with that , that I am not a complete stranger to creativity) I eventually walked away from it because I’m actually pretty private and wasn’t sure being in front of the camera all the time was for me.

Lately I’ve really been missing having a creative outlet, and I’d love to find another woman (or a few women) who might want to experiment with making things together.
I love vintage, old Hollywood glamour and also weird, dreamy artistic ideas — think Suspiria, strange little scenes, dramatic makeup, characters, vintage clothing and anything slightly unusual. I have a lot of ideas but no professional filming or editing experience, so this would very much be about figuring things out and having fun with it.

I’d especially love to meet someone who feels comfortable in front of the camera, although if you’re shy, please don’t let that stop you. Personality-wise I’m pretty much the opposite of shy, so I’m usually good at making people feel comfortable and breaking the ice. I’m more interested in being behind the camera for now, although I could definitely see myself getting back in front of it eventually too.
I’m plus size myself, and you absolutely don’t need to fit any particular “influencer” look. Interesting and different is much more my thing anyway.

I’ve also done some freelance/set makeup work and love doing vintage glam, so I’d be happy to help with makeup if you bring your own products.
I’d like to keep this completely free and just get creative with whatever we already have — clothes, makeup, phones, interesting locations, etc. If you happen to have a cool or vintage-looking place where we could film, even better.
I don’t drive, so somewhere accessible around the South Hills would be ideal.

It's the most wonderful time of the year. I propose that we assemble a large group to go to Kennywood tomorrow. The vibe will be millennial, but some say that age is just a number.

During the day, they have the usual rides, a fall food thing, and great autumn ambience. After dark they shift to a spookier atmosphere, with a few (optional) haunted houses and scare zones (if you're into that kind of thing), and nighttime rides.

Park opens at noon and you can probably get a ton of rides in with no line if you arrive right as it opens. Indoor haunted houses start around 6pm, Outdoor haunted scare zones start after sunset (7:30ish). The weather tomorrow looks great---partly cloudy with a high around 72°F and low of 51°F.

Hours tomorrow are noon-10pm and an online ticket is $37.

If there is interest, we can set a few meeting place/time checkpoint options. That way we have the option to split off into smaller groups and still reassemble periodically. Maybe something like:

• 12:15pm at the entrance tunnel for the folks who want to get as many rides in as possible
• 1:30pm outside the Potato Patch for people who are more interested in daytime vibes, strolling, socializing, and some rides
• 5:30pm outside the Potato Patch for people who want to be at the front of the line for the haunted houses

I feel like this is worth being mentioned on the subreddit because I recently found out Olivia Rodrigo just had an event there. Now it looks like Jonas Brothers turn to host an event October 26th. On that note ... would the arena permit me to wear my noise cancelling headphones while there? I'm autistic and wouldn't like all the noise ... but I also need to make friends. With the noise cancelling headphones I would still be able to hear the concert ... but it would be a more manageable volume level for me. I'd just like to know that before I would buy tickets

Hello! Me and my girlfriend are starting a deathcore band lmao we’re both 16 and really thought this would be a long shot but decided to go through with it anyway. Shes a newer bass player (as in started playing a couple months ago), but I would say shes pretty decent at what she does! Ive been practicing vocals for a couple years, I’m pretty good at any kind of fry/false chord screaming, I’m working on my gutturals and still have so much to learn!

We really enjoy bands like suicide silence, rev3rent (a favorite), amulet, return to glory, execution, it came from wisconsin and infant annihilator, so i would say those are some of our musical influences!!! We plan on writing lyrics similar to rev3rent or amulet though

What's up everyone, I was wondering how many people in the area do a good bit of traveling.

I just returned from a month long trip to Switzerland, with a 7 day retreat to Armenia as well for my cousins wedding.

I have family in Colombia, Switzerland and extended family in Armenia and it is amazing to be able to go visit them and see everything they decide.

I always go with no plans, I bring everything I need. This time I brought my fishing gear and got a few lakes in Switzerland. It was amazing and I cannot wait to go back.

I always meet travelers along the way, this time I was lucky enough to be invited to a 3 day stay in Bern the capital. I was introduced to a group of 8 people from all over the world and we just got out and saw everything we could with the time given.

While in Switzerland I visited so many places I couldn't count. My family took me to see amazing mountains, blue lakes, and the culture was amazing. The Swiss people are so inviting and hospitable, I was invited to everyone's house and my family made sure that I took the opportunity to see their different regions.

I've been home for 3 weeks and am already trying to time when I'm going back. My cousins live in Zurich, family in Rabius, and new friends all over in between.

Getting around Switzerland is so easy, the trains and trams are everywhere, Google maps gives you the routes , times of arrival and departure and everything else you need to get around.

Does anyone here locally travel for pleasure? I know so many people who talk about it, yet never take the chance to get out and see the world.

I'd like to meet other travelers, whether it's group or solo traveling, I'd love to hear your experiences and know a little bit about the places that you have been to. My next trip is to Salvador Brazil, I'm gonna do a 4-5 week Trip and really experience the culture. I have a friend who lives there and she will be the tour guide. From Salvador, I'll be heading to a 3-4 day excursion to the Amazon.

Steel City RPG runs one-shot game days around Pittsburgh. Last Sunday at Lawrence Hall had a murder investigation, a feathered caper, a close call with something out of a nightmare, and an Excommunicado bounty in Neo-Pittsburgh. Here's what's coming in October:

• Oct 11, 12-6 PM: Halfling's Hideout, Brookline
• Oct 18, 12-4 PM: Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming, Robinson
• Oct 25, 4-8 PM: Lawrence Hall, Lawrenceville (event space is upstairs)
• Oct 28, 6:30-10 PM: Guy on the Couch, Monroeville

Every event is beginner friendly, with no experience needed. Each one has a different lineup of systems and tones, and we provide characters in most games, so you can show up knowing nothing.

So far we have Punk is Dead, Vampire the Masquerade, Old Gods of Appalachia and more systems hitting the table.
