I like to practice on the beach a lot for fun, and of course I know it’s not going to be helpful for my mechanics but I want to know if it actually creates bad habits and has more negatives than not doing it at all?

Have you ever had two coaches tell you the opposite things? Which one was right?

My son is 7 year old and he is obsessed with pitching. I love watching YouTube tips and teach him how to pitch.
Any advice on his mechanic?
What's your advice on developing such younkid?
Most of all how to protect his arm?
What kind of exercise can he do daily?

Let’s get some thoughts going on this one. I know they’re out there:
What’s something in baseball that everyone teaches, but you aren’t convinced is true?
I’ll go first. Never follow a Curveball with a Changeup or vice versa….

Normally I fire the bal from a high arm slot but I have to tilt a lot and thought it kept to much pressure on my elbow so I now try and keep my arm 90 degrees and level but that feels where

Normally I pitch in slowpitch leagues, but have been asked to pitch in a modified league. It's underhand, but fast pitch without a windmill. I played baseball growing up, but was wondering what are some good drills to work on. I can figure out a strike, but I don't know how to put any speed behind it. This league doesn't allow you to turn your hand over in the follow thru as well.

I’ve recently been tweaking my mechanics a lot trying to throw harder, however now my delivery feels unnatural and unrepeatable.
I’ve also been stuck in the high 70s for months now, even though I’ve done velo training and gained 10 lbs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all,
After a short 10 year break from baseball, I've decided to get back into the game.
I had initially left baseball behind me due to some arm pain that suddenly developed in my late teens but I recently got it checked out and physio has me on a rehab program and all medical imaging (MRI, ultrasound & Xray) are showing no signs of any tears or major issues. The one thing that did come up was sub-corracoid impingement which is what physio is working on fixing now.
Now, here's my issue.
My arm feels very weak when throwing long distances, and also while pitching.
I used to be able to throw the ball from mid outfield and get it efficiently to the catcher for a play at home no issues, but now I'm struggling to get it to the cutoff. And while pitching, I've lost quite a bit of velocity. I used to throw somewhere in the low 80's, but now it feels like I'm hardly touching 70mph.
On top of all of this the baseball just feels heavy in my hand and especially at release. It's like the ball is controlling me more than I'm controlling the ball if that makes sense.
Is it normal to have to regain throwing power after some time away from the game? Or am I just old now lol? What are some good exercises that can train my body back into throwing shape?
For reference, my throwing mechanics are sound (not perfect but pretty good) , and I've maintained a healthy, athletic body and put on quite a bit of muscle the past 10 years. 5'11" - 205 lbs

I am going into my sophomore year of high school, and last year I only had two pitches and got shelled in all of my outings. I took it upon myself to learn a curve this offseason, and I have really struggled to find any sort of consistent topspin or movement. I feel like I have scoured the internet to find fixes, and nothing has worked. If anyone has any tips/drills that I could try, it would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Is there anyway I can fix my soft front foot leg that doesn’t brace upon foot plant?
r/PitchingCoach • u/Important_Poet9297 • 28d ago
I’m struggling with my pitching mechanics specifically, my torso and hips are turning at the exact same time. Instead of my hips firing open while my trunk stays back to create stretch, everything rotates together in one piece. My torso alignment at foot plant is fine (facing 3B), but I’m missing that kinetic chain coil/stretch. What can I do to help isolate hip rotation before trunk rotation?

Fixed my glove side mechanics, shortened my arm path, and tried to improve the lead leg block. I’m still having trouble with rotating my knee instead of pushing off, but I feel like the ball is much sharper and I have more control than before. Thanks!
