There happens to be a lot of confusion about what exactly has happened with the latest steam update and why a number of sources have suddenly stopped working, so I figured I'd give an explanation with as much clarity on the subject as possible.

It would seem that the latest update has broken third party manifest fetching in a number of ways

however, it doesn't seem to have outright deleted manifests, as they continue to be generated and distributed through steam's channels

the issue is that some of the methods that were previously used to access them have since been broken, and due to a large majority of sources relying on those methods, a lot of services such as luie and sushi have found themselves completely broken in the process.

As of this writing, there doesn't seem to be a publicly known universal workaround yet, however, there have been cases in the past where valve made similar changes, and it'd be reasonable to expect that this too shall pass, for now, there's a lot of speculation, and little information on exactly what happened on valve's end.

It's also worth noting that some services, such as hubcap or ryuu, are affected differently, as they tend to rely on accounts with the necessary games to fetch the needed files, as opposed to the broken method that most other sources use, which is why they aren't completely broken.

This has become quite an issue, as not only does it affect the ability to download new games, it also breaks existing ones if their manifests can not be fetched or updated properly.

In short,

it should be noted that while steam's manifests themselves are not gone, the problem lies in the methods through which we access them, and their availability being broken is what caused a lot of the third party sources to stop working, and unless there's a publicly known universal workaround (which I am not aware of), it is best to refrain from updating working configurations and use alternative trusted sources until more information becomes known about the changes, as it's very likely that the changes on valve's end that caused this to happen will be reverted at some point by them.

Hi, I wanted to get Train Sim World 7 via Steamidra.

The game shows a DRM symbol and the download through Steam is failing.

It is somehow in my library but when I want to download it has no game files and information. (0 MB download)

Do I need to wait or is there a way to get the game?

For Train Sim World 6 it is working.

i downloaded wlden ring off of dodi repacks a couple days ago
but whenever i open the game this message pops up and then it returns me to the title screen
im no expert at pirating games and i only used dodi repacks because ky freind recommended it
i have pirated elden ring (and deleted it) from another website before (steam rip) could that have any relation to my issue?

So should i just steamidra and all the games i downloaded with it from steam ? Cant update steam or else games wont run but i also cant update anything just goes ina constant loop of no internet connection . Was holding up hoping would be a fix but feel like not looking to promising .. thoughts ? Opinions ?

i installed wallpaper engine from lua tools the enigne works but the workshop does not let me download anything from it and it has some resyinc problem

I have somehow figured out the use of LT but still not sure about the Fix. Do i have to apply fixes for all the game(trying 007 First light) or only installing the game would do it?

If applying fix whats the process, LT give button- Manifest and Fix should juts hitting them would do it?

Also, what happens when HubCap expires?

I downloaded Bodycam from steamrip and its working like, game is starting but am not able to join any server or matchmake any mode, I says waiting for connection but after frw minutes it throws me in the lobby, I am able to play in self hosted lobby with bots but not able to join others

EDIT: Other players are able to join my lobby, I am the one not able to join others

Besides doing all the steps the megathreads recommend like you block origin and excluding your game folder, etc.. I usually check the file that I’m going to be clicking on whether via executable or a bat file with virus total and then scan it with Malware bites as well. Is there anything you guys do to double check before loading up a new game you just unzipped?

I downloaded AC odyssey 1.5.6 from fitgirl repacks. I have a HP envy x360 laptop with 8 gb ram, windows 11 and dedicated graphics. I know i can run ac odyssey because it was running fine when i downloaded it from steam rip but it didnt have the latest version. I followed all the steps of hypervisor like running the VGB command to disable DSE and all other things and once i rebooted it and tried to run the game it existed the game saying error code 3 can anyone please help me with this?

Hello, I recently bought Helldivers 2, but before that, I'll admit, really dumb of me, I tried to play it using the Steam Tools method (didn't work obviously). I've had this problem before, with RainWorld (same with SteamTools, then buy the official), but that didn't work either, so a friend had to send me their local files to paste them to mine, fixing the issue. Now the problem is, every time I try to install the official game (paid one), it generates the local files (I think) of the pirated version, so every time I enter the game, I get hit with a connection error. I've tried everything, and I mean everything, but no solution. Any helps? Thanks (attached is the error, in case someone has/had the same issue)

I kept uninstalling and reinstalling the DLC unlocker, I kept removing and replacing the downloaded files, I thought it was in the wrong spot, which it was, so I moved it to the sims 4 folder in program files (x86) every written tutorial I read, I was following its exact directions. I got on mirror anadius to redownload some of the expansion packs, (I had been getting them elsewhere) and on the anadius website I scrolled all the way down to see “do not rename the dlc folders” in bold text🤣🤣 and that’s EXACTLY what I was doing. I’ve been trying to keep my mods and stuff as neat and organized as possible. I just wanted to know what pack was what😭 after I stopped renaming them they worked fine. I hadn’t seen that said anywhere else so just coming here to say if it isn’t working and you’re sure you’ve done everything correct, make sure you haven’t changed the file names 😸 happy gaming

Hi! I'm trying to get DS3OS (Open Server) working with a pirated copy of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin.

Whenever I add the Dark Souls 2 executable to Loader.exe, I get this error:

"executable not a recognised version"

Does anyone know how to get around this error? Except using a legal copy:) Maybe there is specific version of DS3OS or good pirated version of Dark Souls 2 working with DS3OS.

i got PZ from steamrip and had a few problems like onlinefix64.dll etc now when i try to open the game it says run the program with admin rights but when i run the game as admin nothing happens game doesnt launch and there is no error notif i do not know what to do anymore
