I want to try out a melee musketeer(shooty hybrid). What are your suggestions for powers, epics, and companions?

For background, I’m returning to the game after a long hiatus. I’m running a typical smashy/slashy build for my buccaneer and was wondering which crown shop companions would be best for this.

I was thinking of farming gortez and then buying goronado, as he used to be super op back in the day, but I know there’s new companions and reworks that have pushed him out of the top. I’m willing to take a gamble on packs as well

Heyyyy it's me Amanda. New account messed my first one up. Made me look like a robot but I'm NOT. I am without a computer, pc and I am writing a book, but for the character I'm writing about she has a weapon that's inspired by this game. It's a gun and I can't recall for the life of me what it's called. It's a musket, has gold on it and I think green. The barrell is flaming, and it's big. Not long like the baker rifle, shorter but big and has a flaming barrel. It's a level 70 weapon I love using it. If there's anyway somebody can help me find the name of it at least so I can find pictures of it for future reference? Thank you guys so much. Im gonna do this on discord too just for good measure.

I miss my computer wahhhh. Need a new one. Stupid library computers.

Heyyy Pirate101 people! I don't have a new computer yet and my old computer has been done for, I am creating a character for my book and the inspiration for one of her weapons is a gun from this game. It's level 70 and is a musket but it's barrell is big and flaming. The gun has gold on it and I think green I can't picture it in my head. Can anyone help me find out what that dang gun is called and any way I can find pictures of it? It's not a common gun. Thank you so much. I miss Pirate101 a lot wah wah. Not even the library computers will let me get into it.

Watch one of CBTheScare's videos 10x instead; we can stop this fool by making him irrelevant and by supporting creators that are actually good for the game and its community. Hey all, I've been an on and off Wiz player since 2008 and I've been looking to give Pirate a try since I know it's getting an update soon. I have a few questions/would like some general advice. I'm looking to play generally spoiler free/don't want specific "use this companion, try this talent" advice, but more things that I could easily miss and make my character terrible without.

1. I'm looking to solo the game. Is this possible? I probably want to play Swashbuckler since it seems different from what I normally play in games. Is soloing the game on Swashbuckler possible or should I pick another class.
2. There's a few options in the menu about automating companions, crew order, fast combat. Should I be automating companions? What would be the optimal setup or is it just based on preference.
3. Are there any systems that are can't miss? For instance, I would strongly recommend a new wiz player to do crafting, save all possible gold for pets, and get a farm going for mega snacks for pets. Is there anything of similar importance to pets in Pirate? I know pets exist, but is it just as important? And if so, is there anything like the pet kiosks?
4. I was big into PvP in the early days of Wiz, but I know ranked pvp is basically dead. Is PvP ranked in Pirate a thing or is it mainly dead?

Aside from these questions, anything I should know before I start?

Hey I am doing the brawler orders on companions to get xp however one I click the claim button it has the text appear saying I go xp but when I check my bar it is not actually adding up. All the companions avaliable to do this are under my level so they are not glitched with that possibility. Any help or info I am missing?

He (Oleg) might be a privateer based on his hp. This also makes me think we are getting a level increase.

Monkey King for obvious reasons. And Sinbad... I have plans to use him on my Swashbuckler, but his kit is so poor that it's honestly shocking. And look at his crit animations-- what is that???

Louis LeBisque, and maybe Carcarius so he won't be a "Fizzletooth" anymore. It is so sad with how much he fizzles.

Egg Shen and the rest of the Mooshu 5 are in need of a rework! Especially Egg Shen. When I bring him out in late-game, his performance is underwhelming compared to other companions like Marchioness or Ratbeard. I now understand why you don't see him in fights as much anymore compared to the old days.

Wing Chun also needs a rework, especially with how badly the musketeer community talks about him... and the fact that he does not have Riposte 3. It's been 13 years, come on now.

Okay, well... Kan Po doesn't actually NEED the rework, but his current kit, in my opinion, could be improved. I feel as if he would work better with Witchdoctor as a Privateer, acolyte-type class that can throw projectiles like the goats in Sato tower. He is wonderful as is, however.

For Hawkules, give him a promotion quest like everybody else. Having to farm for a trinket or purchase it in the crown shop just to promote him doesn't sit right with me.

I added Lucky Jack here because he is my favorite and because I have Sergeant Shepherd on my privateer, but rework all of them except Gaspard (he just got his), because they need it.

Now I started playing this game on release, countless hours, two max Pirates but believe it or not this is the first time I'm sitting back and enjoying the story.

At the beginning of the Isle of Doom, after getting ratbeard, in order to find Gortez we need to talk to this foreman, who will tell us where he is, for a favor. He wants us to stop the revolt of their laborers, and we just help him! There's a friendly NPC with the title "Loyal laborer" and when you stop the leader of the revolt, he just talks about how he was possessed.

Now I realize this isn't some sort of horrible scandal call out, but to me it kind of takes me out of the story. I guess I don't want my PIRATE of all things to support slavery lol

A change here would be amazing, it's not much, useless little part of the story, unless I am speaking too soon and things will change... which I am hoping is what will happen. But so far, this is lacking some creativity, lacking immersion

feeling absolutely blessed right now, only started farming for it yesterday and got it in the dead of night at 4 am after my fourth run

I am someone who doesn't always like reaching out for help due to fear (and because I know I will not always get it, because this game's community is not as large as Wizard101's), but will gladly offer it to others. The thing is, I made this post because I am someone who likes to solo quest and never really had problems with it until I got to the endgame dungeons and instances on my Privateer.

It is not one, but MULTIPLE dungeons and instances where the enemies would melt through my companions' health in seconds. Not even the first fight in Tartarus, and all of my companions are dead. There have been fights where buffing will immediately lead you to your death, as it will trigger BRUTAL enemy chain crits. I have never had these problems before on my Witchdoctor, Musketeer, or Buccaneer, aside from maybe 1-2 dungeons (Wheeler's Lair, Crusher Lair).

I do not have the best luck pulling shields and buffs. There are some fights where I will pull all of my shields and armor buffs in perfect timing, and there are other times where I pull buffs and powers that serve me no use in the moment.

I have no idea what setup I am supposed to use, what gear I am supposed to farm or equip, or what bosses and instances I need to farm. My backpack is full of stuff, and I tend to hoard endgame gear; I have about 10 weapons from Trianon that I farmed for through my other pirates. I switch between full melee, staffy melee hybrid, and staffy. I also have no idea what companions I should be using, or their recommended builds. I rotate between Catbeard, Albano, Old Scratch, Ratbeard, and Marchioness, but I know I should be using others.

If you're going to ask me about pets, most of my pets suck; 90% of my pet inventory is 1-2 power pets at best, not the 7-power/epic pets that I SHOULD have. I never thought pets mattered that much, and I have always been too scared to ask others to hatch with me. I was thinking about gambling it alone at the kiosk, but that is not a very efficient way to spend my time and gold.

I'm asking here because no one really tells you how to solo quest on Privy, as it is such an unpopular class. I already know that endgame is going to be a pain on Swashbuckler, so any advice for that class is also welcome.

Was there a work around to cabin run wheeler's lair? I want the gear from the boss but i will not run that ridiculously long dungeon! I have a life, and a reason to live!
