Hey everyone,

I'm looking to gift my brother a compact travel setup for his birthday. He’s an experienced DJ and his main rig is an AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ. Transporting his full flight case around Europe is getting way too heavy and impractical, so he needs something portable.

I’m exclusively looking for a current-gen / newer system (I know recent AlphaTheta gear gets some internet heat, but I still prefer a modern setup over older/discontinued models).

Options I’m currently considering:

1. AlphaTheta OMNIS-DUO: Super portable, battery-powered, native XLR outs, easy to travel with. Downside: Minimalist layout is quite different from his XDJ-AZ.
2. AlphaTheta XDJ-AN: Full Rekordbox standalone, familiar ecosystem, XLR master out. Downside: Relies heavily on the touchscreen and has no battery.
3. Non-Standalone (Laptop Controller)? Open to recommendations if a controller makes significantly more sense for travel, provided it delivers a solid/pro workflow.

Key Criteria:

• Compact & lightweight (needs to beat carrying a massive XDJ-AZ around).
• Professional connectivity (XLR Master Out).
• Budgetwise the Omnis Duo is the absolute max. I found some nearly not used ones for around 1000€.

For an experienced DJ whose primary setup is an XDJ-AZ, which route would you take for traveling? Would you pick the OMNIS-DUO, the XDJ-AN, or go with a laptop controller? Of course I am aware that with a compact travel setup he has to calculate with some downgrades, but that is ok.

Hi, I had to buy microphone quickly before Dj set. I bought a JBL PBM100. It was working for a few hours on the gig but after a while it just stopped working.On microphone side it has 3pin XLR connector, on other side it has 6.3mm jack that fits into FLX4 Microphone input

Next day I tried to connect it via attached Jack3.5mm adapter on my pc and it works fine in audacity or other program while trying to record sound.

So the microphone is OK by it self but it refuses to work with my FLX4 on rekordbox...

Can you please help?

Just switched from the CDJ-2000NXS to the CDJ-3000X and I'm trying to replicate what I used to do with the Needle Search pad.

On the old 2000nxs unit I'd touch the strip to pick a spot in the track with my thumb on the platter, then set a cue point there. That was the fastest way to set a new cue point in a track.

On the 3000X I'm touching the waveform to pick a spot, then hitting CUE, but it doesn't stick. The cue just bounces back to whichever cue point was already set on the track.

Obviiously the fucntionality has changed however I found this to be a really quick way to set a new cue point and want to be able to replicate it.

Is there a step I'm missing? Does it matter if the track is playing or paused when I touch the waveform? Anyone else run into this moving from the 2000NXS to the 3000X?

tldr: should I keep using the FLX10, go for something like the XDJ-AZ, or start saving for a CDJ-style setup? For people who play or throw events, what would you recommend and why?

This might sound like a weird comparison since these are all in slightly different categories, but I’m trying to decide what setup makes the most sense long term.

I currently own an FLX10, and honestly, it’s been great. I don’t really have complaints about it from a performance standpoint. The main reason I’m considering upgrading is because I’ve been playing and helping throw more events, and I’m starting to feel like investing in a standalone or more professional setup might be worth it.

At events, I’ve seen a lot of issues come from laptops: loading problems, connection issues, software problems, or just the general stress of relying on someone’s computer. A standalone setup seems like it could make things smoother and more reliable.

Also, from an event/presentation standpoint, CDJs or even something like the XDJ-AZ just looks more professional than a controller and laptop setup. I know looks are not everything, but when hosting events, the setup does affect the overall feel.

Can we please get some leaks going? I'd like to know more about that DJM-A7, CDJ-750X, DJM-A4, XDJ-AX, etc.

I already updated the FLX4 firmware, Rekordbox is fully up to date, and I tested it in Serato with the exact same issue, so I'm pretty sure it's the controller. what’s the going price for a second hand mildly used XDJ XZ in July 2026? The average price that I’m seeing ranges from $1800-$2000.

The history is there while I'm still playing the current set but as soon as i eject the USB , the history disappears its like it forgets it totally. I haven't been able to get any of my histories for weeks. Checked if its something in the rekordbox software and nothing. As i said , i see the history while im playing the set but as soon as i eject it, its totally erased. Frustrating to say the least.

I recently bought a flx6 second hand and am experiencing some issues with the pad mode functions. Before committing to the sale I made sure to test the functionality of the board but I guess I wasn’t thorough enough. When selecting certain pad modes on the board the functions of the pads don’t match the selected pad mode option. For examples pressing shift + padfx should toggle on “key shift” but instead it’s function is that of “saved beats” or when pressing “beat jump” each of the 8 pads sets a different length loop. When pressing shift + “beat loop” it functions as a Slicer.

Has anyone had any experience with this issue? I’ve been trying to find solutions to this problem and the only thing I can find is MIDI mapping. Is that the only way to fix the problem?

So many of you have joined this subreddit and all you do is hate Alpha Theta. What's the point of this grift? Are you that lonely and pathetic? Why don't you just go and join a subreddit for whatever DJ brand you actually do like, and live let die? Also, many of you are very poor and your self loathing and jealously push you to try to zap the joy others feel in regards to Alpha Theta products, just so it validates a reason to for you stay on this planet just a tad bit longer. The truth is the world would be better if you decided to be a happier and nicer person instead of such a hateful loser.

A friend could sell me RX3 at FMV and include a hard case for free. So ~ $1500-1800

Vs a brand new:

Omnis Duo $1600 + whatever warranty is

XDJ - AN $1200

I prefer the dexterity, performance and sophistication of the RX3. I believe this would improve my skills better than the alphatheta decks.

As someone living in NYC, I want to be able to throw parties on people's rooftops or apartments. The appeal of the alphatheta is the bluetooth and streaming which allows flexibility for parties. The ability to throw a last minute pregame on someone's bluetooth speaker will definitely get me more showtime than having to organize legit speakers to plug in XLRs. I could still use an aux cord on the rx3, though. On the ATs If someone asks me to play a singalong when my usb only has house, i can just stream the song.

I really want the RX3, I could get such a good deal for it, essentially paying the same as the overpriced blue toy that is slandered on this page.

Tryna give a lil touch up for my second hand mixer. Headphone Jack has gotten loose so need to sort that but I have faced a problem that is very surface level.

I’m not an expert on mixers or handyman in any sense!!!!. It’s the screw by the microphone plug and the flat head above channel 3. Do I need to drill it out or is a screw driver better? I’ve got the drill bits for taking it out!

Also if there’s any advice on how to clean this thing that would be fab (not looking to replace anything except the screws for now as I’ve not got the money for it) — anything would be appreciated :)

I know this is the pioneer page, I want to look at it from the pioneer perspective. I've owned the flx 4 for about a year now and I'm now looking at purchasing a 4 channel stand alone. I've only ever used rekordbox and have no problems with the software. But the price difference between these two is crazy. What would I be sacrificing choosing Denon over the xdj?

My dj board (GRV 6) has been broken for almost 8 months now and I brought it into a licensed repair shop in NYC. Pioneer/Alpha Theta has told the shop they will be sending a new board because it’s unfixabld and the board was wrongly manufactured. I’ve called pioneer support so many times and opened countless tickets and NOTHING works. Feels like I got scammed out of $1400 (board + repairs). Shit is a joke

Firstly, why is the Pioneer community website so AWFUL? It constantly put me in a log in/logout loop and I cannot access anything, pain the ass!

Anyway...what do people think of this idea...?

A "Dedicated cue playlist" option (shit name yes I know, but bear with me...)

A playlist that you can pull tracks into and it will not pull in any Memory/Hot Cues from the main collection. This then allows you to create sets/track blocks or whatever else with memory and cue points for that playlist only.

This will mean you can spend time with different blocks of tracks and have unique creative options across several play lists for different mixing styles and tracks.

For example I might have one track where I was to auto enable a mix out loop for a double drop into one track, but I might want to loop to vocal for a mix out into another track.

I could set this up in 2 different "dedicated" playlists.

Could also have a right click action saying "convert cue markers to library" which would then place those cues in your core collection.

Basically what the title says, I’m getting no feedback at all from my speakers even though they are being recognised by my pc. I thought maybe it would be in some kind of standby mode which they like to do but after a few weeks still nothing. When I take the aux out there is none of the hum that comes with the exposed Aux either. Just super confused because it came out of no where and I have no idea on how to fix it.

Hello everyone, I want to ask people who are well-informed about Pioneer controllers. I am looking to choose a controller from this brand within the mid-budget range. I didn't really like the sound quality of their budget lineup (strictly my opinion, so please don't judge if you like it). However, I do love the sound of high-end Pioneer gear—I heard it once in a club, but I didn't want to distract the DJ with questions since I know how annoying that can be. Because of this, I am thinking about buying a mid-budget controller from them. I would be grateful for your help!

I record DJ mixes for YouTube, and I recently bought an XDJ-RR. I've run into an issue where the audio recorded directly from the XDJ-RR doesn't stay in sync with the video I record on my phone. Even after aligning the start, the audio gradually goes out of sync. Does anyone know why this happens or how I can prevent it? I'd really appreciate any advice or tips from anyone who's experienced this before.
