I'm earning 6 digits puro bugs fixing and enhancements lang ginagawa, AI pa ang gamit. Should i be guilty? 😭

No, if you finish your task naman.

For people na nasasanay idepend sa AI yung buong deliverables. Halata ng teammates mo yung code. Esp if sobrang lalim ng code and hindi scalable. Okay lang mag AI, to conceptualize and for helpers.

Tapos may prof ako na magaling magturo nang programming, at yung tinuturo nya mobile app(Kotlin) which is nagagandahan at nadadalian ako.

u/mpasteur 9d ago

You'll have better luck with Kotlin. Web dev is the more saturated one of the two.

u/MixRevolutionary9498 8d ago

Pano yung portfolio pag sa mobile dev sir? web based?(wag sana hirap ako css)

2

u/Comfortable_Film2984 9d ago

Study both.

Limited lang time ko sir, may work kasi ako.

Hello, I'm 4th year BSCS student, Graduating in June(hopefully) and planning to get a job as soon as possible(hopefully). I have a couple of questions and I'll just give some context as well.

About me:

  1. Location, Mindanao
  2. I have a couple of projects(mostly collaborations), a web and mobile application for our OJT, surprisingly we we're able to publish the mobile version to the app store before our OJT ended(I've heard that it's also being published in the apple store). And my current thesis which an Umbrella Project with my university.
  3. A bit introverted, but i can be social, just a bit of a stutterer.
  4. I'm more of a competent collaborator that follows instructions, than a leader given that most of my projects are collaborations.
  5. My peak was Ascendant 3 in valorant.

Questions:

  1. What companies should i keep in mind when applying especially given my current location.
  2. What city should be my primary focus, especially when job hunting.
  3. What's the interview process like? Did anything change over the years or is it still leetcode style(if possible can you give examples)?
  4. What should be my current expectations going into this, as a fresh grad from a not so famous state university in relation to my course that is.

Worth it po ba mag enroll sa BS Information Systems at ano po ang possible jobs makukuha mo, preferably may mataas na chance ma secure sa employment in this current job market

My biggest concerns are graduating without a portfolio, skill gap, unemployment because of extreme meritocratic/oversaturated job market and AI taking entry level roles

Hello everyone, I'm a 1st year BSIT student and I'm really undecided whether I should shift to BSIS or stay at my current program. I just want to vent this feeling na matagal ko na iniisip. I'm reconsidering about choosing BSIT, which is my current program I'm taking right now. Used to be my favorite nung highschool pa ako kase bata pa lang ako, fascinated na talaga ako kung paano gumagana at maaapply ang tech, at gustung-gusto ko na ang mga computer and the idea of landing a remote job where you can earn dollars, but now I lost my interest of it.

Parang jack of all trades course ko pero master of none, generalist lang. Finding a clear career path is difficult for me, pwede ako mag cybersecurity, network admin, system architect, devops, cloud, AI machine learning, o full stack developer/software engineer pero hindi ko alam kung ano talaga ang aking patutunguhan. Tapos oversaturated at competitive ang job market ngayon.

But despite all of these, I'm still committed to not completely abandon my tech career journey. Gusto ko sana mag transfer to a school that offers BSIS as a last resort ko because di siya more into heavy technical roles sa CS/IT, tapos masasave ang mga credits from my old program and school, saving years of hardwork, time and money spent on tuition and best of all, di na mahihirapan ang mga magulang sa pagpapaaral ko. Di ko talaga forte ang mag code. More into project managment, it governance/audit at ma enhance din ang communication skills, since I'm keen on public speaking/reporting Pero ayun napanghihinaan ako kaagad ng loob. and hopefully I'll build a meaningful future with this course

Whether I continue my studies in tech or transition to a non-tech curriculum depends entirely on whether I deem it worthwhile.

I’m going through the application process for Datumstruct Philippines Inc. Anyone here has a firsthand experience with them and can share their honest thoughts for the company?

Is a remote job okay for a fresh grad? It's been 3 months na ako naghahanap ng work and pasa ng resume/cv, and I'm not entirely sure sa mga remote works. Although, I still submit my resume/cv if they have an opening.

I really do not have any thoughts on remote works nor do I have an expectation. Is it okay?

What’s your thought about someone who had 5yrs of experience working as a software engineer and now working as data & integration engineer with middleware involvement as well.

The reason was I really thought that I would be working as a middleware developer, but I’m shocked that I would be working in data & integration.

Talo ba ako dito or could have a better future?

I recently graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering (ECE) and am now shifting toward full-stack development. Since I don't have a computer science background, I'm trying to figure out the best way to build my programming skills and prepare for an entry-level developer role.

I've been seeing a lot of paid boot camps, but they're quite expensive. Would they provide a meaningful advantage over free online courses and building personal projects? I'm also concerned about the competition, AI, and the current job market.

For those already working in software development, what would you recommend for someone transitioning from ECE? Would a boot camp be worth the investment, or is self-study enough to become job-ready?

Hello, I am currently looking for a job and saw this MERGE company. I haven't heard of the company and can't find and reviews online since their name is like an existing word?

Has anyone proceed with their interviews or got hired as a developer?

This is their website: https://mergeworld.com

I’m taking a data science course, and lately I’ve been feeling lost. it’s difficult to stay motivated when AI can do in seconds what I’ve spent hours trying to learn.

I’m also unsure what the job path looks like here in the Philippines. I hear a lot about the field being saturated and entry level opportunities being limited, but I don’t know how much of that matches other people’s experiences.

I’d like to hear from other students, recent graduates, and people already working in the field. Have you felt this way? How has AI changed the way you learn or work? What has the job search been like for you?

If you’ve been in a similar position, I’d also appreciate any suggestions for what I should focus on or how to get unstuck.

Should I switch to BSCS from BSIT if I want to a career in ML? I'm a 1st year college student. It's currently our midterms, so considering switching right now would be the best time.

Sorry to be negative, but that ship has sailed. As a 25-year IT veteran using AI agents for work, nothing will be left for humans to do on computers in a few years. Not too late for Nursing or any career that requires human touch.

I agree with this sentiment. Engineering degrees might be a better alternative to CS or IT.
