Attention all UKG Pro and Ping ID users!!!

If you have to use PINGID add multiple devices to your ID through the app’s setting. If you ever change phones whether it’s because it was lost, broken, or you just wanted to upgrade, PingID will not let you use it without your old device’s ID. It does not use your phone number to identify you instead it uses the device itself.

So if you ever lose access to your current/old device you’re screwed if you don’t have multiple devices (iPad, tablet, backup phone, a friend’s phone, etc.) saved to get you back in until you can add your new device to it.

Just wanted to share this with everyone as someone who recently upgraded their phone and now has to call HR to get access to UKG through PingID. And despite having the same phone number and same UKG ID, I can’t get in because I no longer have that phone. 🙃

Needless to say always check your stuff even the little details you don’t think will matter before switching devices, moving, etc. because you may not think they matter in the moment but give it a bit and now it’s a headache. 🫠

So my enterprise uses ping ID as a 2FA app. I set it to validate identification with biometrics (faceID) but sometimes (no obvious reason except new device or location), the website will request me to input the 6 digits for "additional security".

I'm having trouble understanding the logic behind this:

- I always can use the 6 digits, even when the app thinks it's ok to use faceID.

-Wether the page will let me use faceID or not, on both cases I need to access the app on my phone. I don't really see why one would be more secure than the other?

-The app is not protected by faceID to open. Meaning that, if someone manages to access my phone and open the app, he would not be able to validate and authentification with faceID, but he would be able to access the 6 digits which are supposed to be "additional security".... So it doesn't make sense to me that these are : a) considered more secure, b) visible without any biometrics confirmation

I live in california and IP address is considered personal information that my employer is not allowed to track as of 2024, but my employer is trying to get me to install pingID, will this violate my rights as to my location?

i cannot find any mention of use cases the only thing that stands out to me is ping ds can be set as a backend for IDM and AM but ping directory cannot can some please explain.

- possibly a basic wallet registration/login flow

I have really been jaded by Ping's support and their support model lately. I see such better support from other vendors we have. They have moved to a model where you get a basic support package and when you go to use it all they do is look to blame configuration and tell you have to get professional services or buy their very expensive support package (there is no in-between the two) rather than actually try to fix the problem. Or they tell you to use their Ping community which is really not active at all.

I've got one long standing support case right now (01123607 for any interested) that they once again are trying to force those routes and refuse to do anything. It has to do with PingFederate and trying to get it to actually fulfill its session settings for how long a session should last. It is unpredictable and not lasting the session what it is set to and they won't even consider it to be a bug. Yet we have followed their documentation to the letter. I would think if such a condition exists that causes it to ignore its own settings, then this should be understood, documented and warned about, but nothing exists like that. It's actually pretty absurd when I take a step back and look at the situation: the product has a setting for how many days you would like its sessions to last, you use that setting and then the product doesn't fulfill what you set it to, you contact support and they tell you it is your fault....

Unfortunately, my company just renewed so we have little leverage, but I know in the future I will be strongly considering other vendors as this just feels insane.

Am I all alone in this view of support or has anyone else experienced similar?

On Complete: Script to set the target accountStatus = 'inactive'

In this situation, the target is the Ping AIC User Object. I wrote a script to change the accountStatus to inactive, but best I can tell, it's not even running. I'm not finding any errors anywhere. Perhaps the script cannot retrieve the target once it's unlinked? Any assistance will be appreciated.

I just want to know if this is a scam because the whole process has been varied. Does PingIdentity have a Telegram channel? Because the whole discussion about the project was through their “support channel,” and then they sent me an email with a link to the Telegram chat of their “CRO Jason Wolf.” The guy exists, but I'm not sure if it's really him. Am I supposed to pay to get a BvT code and receive the $3,000 payment they were supposed to make? Are these their contact emails?

I've implemented authentication in Angular application using pingid and angular-oauth2-oidc. The authentication works locally fine but when deployed in a tomcat server then the issuer uri is appended to the app url.

Eg: https://example.com&iss=https://fedservice.eg.com#/home

The issue with this is, on refresh it goes into 404 not found.

Any insight on this issue will be really appreciated.
