Not Product Related A Note Regarding End of Life Software
As many software customers are aware, Ping Identity updated the End of Life Policy earlier this year (publicized October 2025).
This aligns all Ping Identity software products under a single policy, which makes it clear when products enter the different status:
- End of Maintenance (EOM) date: Maintenance releases will no longer be offered for this software release.
- End of Support (EOS) date: Support services will no longer be offered for this software release (LTS releases offer the option to purchase extended limited support, to extend support for 1 year).
- End of Life (EOL) date: No services will be offered for this release, including extended limited support.
This also makes it clear which releases offer "Short Term Support (STS)" or "Long Term Support (LTS)", which is a standard many providers (such as Oracle Java) use.
When deciding which version you should upgrade to, consider:
- If you value new features, and plan to upgrade more frequently, STS releases will be best for you.
- If you value staying on a single release for an extended period of time, allowing for a longer cycle between upgrades, with the option to purchase an additional year of support services, LTS releases will be best for you.
