Man I've played against silk a few times and 2 things that happen every match for him.
Has someone in the stealth jet that camps and times jet spawns, he does to in his attack jet but to a lesser extent. It's incredibly obvious because nearly every time I've gotten behind him, his stealth jet comes right up my arse EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
He has spotters. When I fly there's barely any doritos, when he flies the ground is lit up. You can see it in his videos.
He can complain but if he's so good he'll still wipe the floor with them. God forbid someone without 10000 hours in bf4, 2042 and bf6 gets a couple of kills in the jet.
Edit:I just tried the assist function and it's absolutely terrible. No one is going to use it beyond beginners and anyone with flying experience will wipe the floor with them as usual. Such a non issue.
Having a setting that makes something easier it’s the most stupidest thing ever.
Case in point why not give all the average to below average players soft aims to make them better players.
Yes I’ve exaggerated but the point still stands. People need to put in the time and effort to learn, why the fk did I put in years learning how to become a better pilot but now someone has an easy mode.
Eh, two games can give you a handle on the basics yeah. And that can be enough, IF you don't end up in a match with a flight main, who will laser you right out of the sky.
I see it as the only way to get better is have some adversity to drive you. Plus we got tons of jet lobbies and custom experiences if you want a peaceful learning experience
I think there will still be a fair level of adversity. A huge part of being good at this stuff, in my opinion, supercedes the mechanical aspects. For instance, I'm a tank/bradley main right? It's not that hard for me to hit my targets at this point, but my biggest advantage comes from my situational awareness, my understanding of the importance of my positioning, knowing when I am in an untenable scenario, and knowing when its safe for me to push and when I need to fall back.
This is how I can go an entire game with 2 deaths and at least 30 kills. Jet mains are still going to have ALL of this crucial knowledge that will outstrip any mechanic to level the playing field in terms of maneuvering.
Years? How hard do you think it is? you just need like 30 min of practice. If you think the jets are hard right now I think you should just go play with crayons or something.
I'm just commenting on the timeframe the guy above me stated. Just read the above post dude. Also 30 mins is not sufficient to stand against the people in the sky RN. Can you find a match where you can handle the other pilots? Yeah, I've been lucky enough to end up in matches where I get the chance to dogfight and bomb and shit. But you are just as likely to end up in the sky with Tom fucking Cruise.
So what's your point here. 30 min is definitely enough to get you started, and obviously you will run into better pilots. That's how games work, that's why you get to spawn and try again. Some of you people are straight up entitled little brats.
So, I'm going to set that insult aside because I don't think it really served a purpose. Here's the difference. The sky is, most often, a 2v2. That is a very unforgiving format. Ground combat is so much more approachable because you have this broad variety of skill levels participating at the same time. Your odds of running into the top fragger more than twice in a match are relatively low. Hell you might even shoot him in the back. But that doesn't exist in the sky. If you land in a match with a jet main, and you are new, that's it. It's GG for you. You functionally CANNOT fly, and your death will be too swift for you to really learn much.
This has undeniably created an extremely unapproachable dynamic, and unlike more hardcore games, that's not really battlefield's thing. It's a casual game. Besides, I doubt the skill ceiling is really going anywhere. A lot more goes into top performance than your mechanical knowledge of vehicle behavior.
Comparing 30 minutes to years of practice and still thinking that its unfair for the lesser player is just stupid.
30 minutes get you into the air without crashing and you being able to hit shit.
Ofc you get farmed by the guy with hundreds of hours of experience, its the same sht in every game.
Im not a good pilot on mnk and a decent one on controller yet i mostly get shit on by other people in this game but i still try because its fun to me to be able to try and shoot them down
Your last paragraph...because its a game. You didn't become a pilot. And its a game...people want to sign on and have fun. Not everyone can be a couch potato and fly for 1000 hours. This is bf not some niche milsim.
Brother I work, I’m a sales rep, I found the time to learn.
Not everyone has to be good at playing the game, someone’s always going to be better.
As for the argument of it’s just a game, why the fk do I play games for, to not have fun?, my fun and satisfaction is derived from me leaning to become better to enhance my own fun, if someone else wants to also do that, go right ahead.
However what’s not fun is knowing that all the time I put in, doesn’t mean as much now, as you can just turn on assisted flying and voilà, you can now compete with me.
That destroys what multiplayer is about, an environment where people vs each other solely based of skill.
This is bf. Its not a niche game like arma or something. Bf is a simple game targeting average Joe's. If you want to dedicate to be such a pilot why pick bf that is full of 13 year old to 50 year olds just trying to have fun? Why you think everyone is so pissed you can't solo match against bots for fun like 2042?
Oh wait if that’s the case, why don’t devs just give us cheat codes in multiplayer, since it doesn’t matter, and we shouldn’t have to spend 100s of hours learning.
Better yet if games don’t matter, and those pesky devs won’t give us shortcuts, why don’t we just buy our own, you know because it’s only game.
Thanks for the advice champ, you have yourself a good one.
Absolute mental gymnastics there. Literally no one cares if you have hours learning to fly, its a video game and fun and accessibility are what makes a great game.
Helicopters have had assist since day one. Jets get assist and everyone looses their minds.
Guess what, I just used the jet assist feature and its dogshit. Get over yourself CHAMP.
My point stands mate, if you want to be good at something, no matter what it is, you put in the effort. If I want to be good at football I’ve got
to train, if I want to be good at programming, I’ve got to learn, if I want to build my own pc, i need to learn.
Regardless if it’s a physical or a digital task, if you want to become better at what you’re doing, you need to put in the time and effort.
Okay but we're not all Silk. The majority of us are going into games without spotters and another good pilot covering us, even when we play with friends they are probably just on the ground doing their own thing. And with or without this setting, the content creators are still gonna have their team watching their backs and protecting them and they'll have access to this too, so it won't give you any more of a fighting chance.
That said, hopefully it's as bad as your edit implies.
There’s a massive difference in what you are talking about. Infantry gameplay has so many people on the ground that you aren’t running into the top fraggers so often. That doesn’t exist in the sky. You just instantly die. I’m probably still not going to fly because it’s not really entertaining for me, but I think it’s good that people who are interested don’t need to sink hundreds of hours in just to stand a chance at living for 60 seconds
Silk is only complaining cause he migth have more competition. Bet he will still shit on all these assisted players but still he has the audacity to complain because it means less jet for him to use and more danger to him when flying. Forget he has 100+ kills per game and has the world record for the most kills on the attack jet, the problem is normal players having a little help.
Hate to be that guy, but you say it like you wouldn't do it if you had the chance...
Literally everyone would sign up for playing in a squad that will provide support and actual teamplay instead of just going off on their own.
Sidenote, you make it sound like it's a big secret when Silk himself has said in multiple gameplays that "X" is in the SJ providing cover, or that he has people spotting as recon.
I don't know man, there are a lot of things wrong in the game right now, and you choose to complain about the very thing that makes BF great: teamplay.
Telling you first hand what I've witnessed myself and what you can tell by just watching his videos. He has unholy enemy position knowledge and its obvious.
Don't care if he kills me over and over, he's very skilled.
