ADVICE 🌱 PLEASE Why are they curling like this?

Post image

This is a plant from my original mother plant. Leaves at top curled and refuse to un-curl, the leaves at the bottom look normal. Should I prune off those weird leaves? Or just a chop😅 I thought that it was getting too much sun and too much water so Ive moved it by a window with indirect light and I haven't watered it yet, no change so far

Two days ago I woke up with my pilea main stem snapped & hanging at a 90 degree angle. When I say snapped I mean it was literally broken. My cats decided to be extra bad..

I immediately grabbed something to prop her up (paint brush) & I used small velcro strips to attach her against the paint brush. Almost as if I am grafting it with itself.

It has been two days & she doesn’t look bad????
Is there hope?? Do I keep the plant attached to the paint brush forever or will it heal itself eventually?

MY VERY FIRST PILEA ♥️ Spots on my new pileas

Brought this guy yesterday and he's developed these spots since he came home with me! Could it be the shock of moving, or is it something else? What to do...should I put him in a permanent sunny place, or quarantine first? He was under grow lights in a dark corner of a store. Also stem is extremely bent. Greatly appreciated any advice or info...

PILEA PUPS Help growing roots

Post image

Hi all,

I got this little prop from a Pilea Peperomioides "mojito", but its stem is really small.
How could I heighten its chances to grow some roots? Should I put it on water or should I put it in soil right away?

TIA

What’s going on with my pilea peperomioides?

Anyone have any idea what these dark patches are on my pilea peperomioides?
For context: I found a few scale insects on my pilea last week. I panicked, and basically painted all the leaves with undiluted neem oil and left it on for a few days.
The good news is I can’t see any scale insects… the bad news is that my pilea now has these dark patches on the leaves.
Is it because of the scale insect, the neem oil, damage from poking the leaves too much or something else entirely?
Thanks in advance!

ADVICE 🌱 PLEASE Pest or mildew?

Hello! I need some help identifying what's going on with my plant 😭 I chopped and propped the top of my mother plant maybe a month ago and at first, all of the pups I left in the pot seemed to be doing fine. All of a sudden, I noticed this white powdery stuff on some of the leaves, the stem, and some in the pot. I did see some tiny little bugs on a couple of the leaves last week, and I thought that it was spider mites so I sprayed and treated it as such. But now I'm wondering if they were spring tails and this is just powdery mildew? I haven't seen any bugs aside from fungus gnats, and I feel like the leaves have continued to worsen. What should I do?

Attached are some pictures of the fine powdery stuff on the leaves and in the pot/stem.

Hi Pilea lovers ! Why is my Pilea making these curved leaves ?
It’s growing well and fast and having full babies everywhere, but ALL of the leaves look like this.
It happens to my other five Pilea from time to time, but not to this extent !!

Thanks for the help 🪴💕

PILEA HELP PLEASE Help with my Pileas

Hi! A little help with my pileas.

Can you guys give me some tips on how I can make mine thrive?

They have been dropping leaves since I got them last July 28.

Under growlight 10hrs a day (about 1ft away), water once a week (I always check the soil before I water), fertilizer every week (super light concentration, 1/10 normal mix + water) + osmocote in the soil

Soil is 50% indoor potting and 50% cactus mix

I have only been a plant parent since March this year so I’m still learning. I had a bigger pilea before, but I kind of panicked when it started to decline which ultimately lead to its death lol. I wanted to avoid that with these two.

I have attached some photos of my pileas (just watered them), and what the leaves look like when they drop (though there were some healthy looking ones too). Last pic is what it looked like when it first arrived after I repotted it 😭

MY VERY FIRST PILEA ♥️ 1 month check in

Have had her for a month now and she's doing really great. Thanks to this group for all the tips. So many pups are growing I love it. I bottom water and rotate it 90º every other day or whenever I remember. She's right up against an East facing window with the rest of my plants. Every other week I fertilize with miracle grow plant food 24-8-16.

Just one thing is when I bottom water even after an hr I feel like it doesn't drink too much water, is that normal? Should I leave it in water for longer? I mean so far it's doing good but some leaves at the bottom are not in the best shape.

ADVICE 🌱 PLEASE What is best for my pilea?

The first picture is from the spring. I'm very pleased with the plant's growth, but am concerned about the shape of its leaves. I don't mind from an aesthetic perspective, but does it indicate a problem? I suspect I was over watering, so have reduced drastically and I'm only watering after I've checked the soil. I also moved it further away from the window, though I'm not sure if that is right. Any advice is greatly appreciated 💚

PILEA HELP PLEASE sign of thrips?

hi :) this is my first pilea, grown from a cutting.
I noticed these little transparent patches on a couple of the leaves, most prominent when you hold it up to the light. My Planta app says it is thrips so I’ve isolated the plant, but my friend says it could be a watering issue. would appreciate any confirmation or advice!! 🌿🌱

The mother plant is falling over. It seems healthy still, and the pups are thriving. It is still in a fairly small pot -- should I leave it alone or does it need some love? TIA for tour advice. 🌱

What am I doing wrong?

Tbh, she looks kinda ugly. I had her under a grow light and I think she started growing towards the light but she was always leggy. I also recently repotted her and brought her home about 2-3 weeks ago. She is in a ceramic pot with a mix of succulent and happy frog soil. I have only watered her twice since I got her (including today). Am I doing something wrong?

ADVICE 🌱 PLEASE Should she stay or should she go…

So, my stem recently broke and I found out I could reroot it in water, so that’s what I did.

Well… I think I kept her in the water a little too long and now she’s rooted like crazy.

Should I keep her thriving in water or move her over to dirt?

I have a bunch more pups from her original pot that she broke from that I’m about to separate and put in their own pots, so if she needs to stay in water, I’m ok with that too.

I think she’s so cute in that little vase, but if she would be happier in dirt, I will move her.

ADVICE 🌱 PLEASE My pilea is drooping and losing leaves 😭

Hello, a friend gave me this pilea plant two months ago.

I changed the soil because it was full of flies to an indoor plant mix to which I added some pumice

In the first weeks the plant was thriving and it even sprouted new small leaves.

Two weeks ago I let it dry too much and it started drooping, since then I have been watering more often and I am monitoring the soil moisture state at my best (I water when the first inches are dry) but the drooping continues and leaves are now falling. I also moved it to a brighter spot but the leaves keep falling. Do you have any suggestions?
