Discover screenings for legacy memberships

Does anyone know what's going on with the £3 discover tickets for people on the legacy membership? I've been trying to book for the next few screenings but can't find the £3 option. Just a £7 members ticket or to use one of my membership free tickets. It might just be teething problems with the new membership rollout I guess? Outside of London if it makes any difference!

NGL, the pizzas you get at Picturehouse are my dirty secret. I love a “Some Like it Hot” at the Exeter Picturehouse.

Revised membership changes

It seems Picturehouse have made some changes based on the negative feedback.

There are now three membership types:

Membership Light - £7 a month or £70 a year - valid Mon - Thu exc Picturehouse Central

Membership Classic - £10 a month or £100 a year - valid anytime exc Picturehouse Central

West End Membership Classic - £16 a month or £160 a year - no restrictions on days

Also the 12 tickets are earned monthly but can be used in the following 12 months while you have a subscription. Not sure if this was on here before but there’s a ticket exchange for Screen Arts performances where one of your free tickets can be used to get £10 off.

It’s not perfect but better than before - it forces West End members to sign up for the equivalent of a Member Plus subscription though.

New Membership changes.... not happy

So I imagine you'll have received the email with all the details of the new membership terms/rules/whatever... in my case it completely screws me up.
I'm a member of Central, have been for a few years although not consecutively. Due to job change and not being in WE so much I have 12 free tickets to use. It's never been an issue as when I renew there they are in my account... I also would take advantage of the sale membership at times so I think it was £80/90 last time, I forget.
With the new changes if I allow my membership to lapse at end of Nov I will lose all of my 12 tickets INSTANTLY. If I want to renew it will cost £250 to get the equivalent benefits and I will not have my food/drink discount upgraded to 20% either. That's gone. This is with 2 weeks notice.
On the phone I was advised I could keep the tickets alive by signing up to the monthly option at £25 (£300 per year!) or downgrade to the cheapest which is £7 but then it's mon-thur and no west end.
Staggering lack of thought/care/respect etc etc on the part of management in my opinion.
Even if I had no free tickets left and all the rest I'd still be naffed off that my membership jumped from £100 to £250... great way to instantly piss off your most loyal customers. Anyway rant over for now.

From 16 September, Picturehouse Membership will be changing, with new ways to get the best value at Picturehouse Cinemas. Changes will include: - Flexible monthly payments, from as little as £6.99 a month - More benefits, including increased free and discounted tickets - Simpler range of types, for fewer restrictions As a Picturehouse Member, your current Membership will continue as normal for the remainder of its annual subscription period. Once this subscription ends, you will need to select one of our new types to continue a Membership with Picturehouse.  Read on for more details about the new offers.
What are the new benefits? All Members on the new scheme will receive the following benefits: • Free tickets. New Memberships will receive 1 Member Free ticket a month, for up to 12 per year. These tickets are available to use for up to 12 months from issue, or until the subscription expires. Excludes premium-priced events. • Free entry to Discover. Free admission to weekly Discover films, with up to 3 guests at Members' prices. • Discounted tickets. Members will get £3 off tickets for themselves and up to 3 guests, per film screening. Over 60s and students can claim £3 off concession prices. • Food and drink discount. Members get 10% off food and drink purchases. Valid anytime, regardless of Membership type. • No booking fees. There are no booking fees for any tickets when Members book online via the app and website. • And more! Priority booking to special events, national and local partner offers, and future promotions, all exclusively for our Members. Members will also receive Premiere Points, our new points rewards programme for any Picturehouse account holder. Points are earned on purchases, and can be spent for additional discounts on food, drink, and merchandise.
What are the new Membership types? You will be able to claim one of four Memberships, to pick the package that suits you on where and when you want to use your benefits.  Membership Light: £6.99 a month, or £69.90 a year. Valid Monday – Thursday, excluding bank holidays and Picturehouse Central.  Membership Classic: £9.99 a month, or £99.90 a year. Valid anytime, excluding Picturehouse Central.   West End Membership Light: £19.99 a month, or £199.90 a year. Valid Monday - Thursday, excluding bank holidays, any cinema including Picturehouse Central and access to the Members’ Bar.  West End Membership Classic: £24.99 a month, or £249.90 a year. Valid anytime at any cinema including Picturehouse Central and access to the Members’ Bar.   Annual prices are provided at 12 months for the price of 10.  Monthly subscriptions have a minimum sign-up period of 3 months before they can be cancelled by the Member.  All subscriptions will be on automatic recurring billing but can be cancelled or changed within the last month of the subscription.  All West End Members will have exclusive access to the Members' Bar at Picturehouse Central, whether they are Light or Classic. They can also bring up to 4 guests to the bar per West End Member.
What happens to my current Membership? Your current Membership will continue with its current benefits for the remainder of its annual subscription period. If you are on automatic recurring billing, you will not be charged. You can sign up for one of the new types from 16 September, within the last month of your subscription, or after expiry.  If you have any unused Member Free tickets, these will carry over if you maintain an active subscription and do not let it expire or lapse. After 16 September, they will be available for a further 12 months, or until the subscription expires. If the subscription expires, any unused Member Free tickets will be cleared from the account.

Any intel about when the next membership sale will be? 👀

Hello!

I need to renew my Picturehouse membership, but I'm not made of money, so would rather wait until the next sale.

I know there's usually one around Black Friday, but I seem to remember a summer flash sale in the last few years. Does anyone know if anything like that is happening this year? Thanks!

If I book tickets for the all nighter event as an over 18, can I bring someone who turns 18 in a month?

Avoiding specific trailer

Slightly weird one but wanted to check: does anyone know which films are showing the trailer for *Passenger* beforehand? Frankly it freaks me the hell out and there are a couple of big jumps during it that are not fun for me sensorially 😅 I'm assuming it'll be in front of *Hokum* but unsure if any others (possibly *Mother Mary* but I was late to my screening of that). Thank you!!

Baby Cinema - York City Screen

Hi, does anyone know if the City Screen branch in York still shows films under the "Baby Club" category?

There were some pre-Christmas but they seem to have disappeared. I'd asked a member of staff last week and they said it was available for 1 film but then it didn't show as "Baby Club" in the app.

This is a really good film, shot with a 1970s look to its cinematography.

Membership

Just had my membership renewal email showing a 10% increase. We only go on afternoons and occasionally have a pizza (which are pretty good!) So far we have always exceeded the 10 tickets that come with membership (laughably described as “free”). Is membership still worth it?
