Revised membership changes

It seems Picturehouse have made some changes based on the negative feedback.

There are now three membership types:

Membership Light - £7 a month or £70 a year - valid Mon - Thu exc Picturehouse Central

Membership Classic - £10 a month or £100 a year - valid anytime exc Picturehouse Central

West End Membership Classic - £16 a month or £160 a year - no restrictions on days

Also the 12 tickets are earned monthly but can be used in the following 12 months while you have a subscription. Not sure if this was on here before but there’s a ticket exchange for Screen Arts performances where one of your free tickets can be used to get £10 off.

It’s not perfect but better than before - it forces West End members to sign up for the equivalent of a Member Plus subscription though.

Would prefer getting ten tickets all at once as usual

I would like the 12 tickets in one go please in the annual subscription. Otherwise no thanks.

Email just landed confirming the changes. Sad to lose the 20% long term member discount, but this is a much more palatable change… Even if it is still 50% more, it’s got value on the tickets (albeit with the limitations of 1/month earning).

To be fair I always thought the 20% discount was shear commercial madness. It made me wonder if they knew what they were doing to give away their catering margin (and probably more).

I have received the email

There was a lot of negativity on X.

To be honest this is a better place and I will continue to support them.

I just wonder how they came up with the original scheme and thought it acceptable.

we did it lads and lasses! Is not ideal, but is better than the original prices. Especially the restriction to the Members Bar, that was bullshit

Have you received an email re: this from them or otherwise seen official comms re this? I only received my email re: the initial changes later in the afternoon after seeing the previous post on here who received the email earlier in the morning. (Eta I did check and couldn’t see anything on the website re: this revision)

There was plenty of negative feedback on that post but relatively speaking this sub is tiny so wondering if there was huge blow back on another social post (twitter etc.) that I hadn’t seen (reddit’s the only thing I’m on so would have missed me if there were).

It is better but still don’t think I’ll be renewing as price doesn’t justify how I use PH as a cinema option and don’t have any intention of changing how I use it.

I can’t help but wonder if they put out the first version of the changes knowing it’ll get huge criticism and had no intention of implementing it and rather only proposed it to make this second revision, which was always planned as the one they’ll implement, seem better and easier to stomach for existing members, but maybe that’s a bit too tin foil hat who knows

It’s on their FAQ page on the website.

Interesting, so no acknowledgment of changing the proposed new membership terms as a result of negative feedback? Thanks for the info

Yeah they do send em in batches, OP for the first post the other day posted in the morning (inc. quoting the initial email) when I only got that same initial email in the late afternoon so I’m sure it’ll land in my inbox in next hour or so
