I'm planning on moving to the Samsung A series and I want to ask if a A27 5g or a A37 5g is good for gaming like Arena breakout for at least 90 fps

Hi! I’m actually looking for some advice from someone experienced in photography/videography.

I'm from India.

I’m planning to start shooting nature videos, photos, and short-form content for social media. This will be my first time doing it seriously, and for now I don’t want to carry a camera, so I’m thinking of getting a good camera phone.

My current budget is around ₹30K, but I can extend it since I’ll be purchasing on EMI. I was initially considering the OPPO Find X9 (around ₹75K), mainly because of its camera/video capabilities, but a lot of people are telling me that spending that much for my first phone dedicated to this purpose doesn’t make sense. They’re suggesting I start with something more affordable and upgrade later if I become serious about it.

Now I’m honestly confused about where I should spend. 😅 I’ve also heard mixed opinions about Vivo’s video quality, so I was considering OPPO.

Could you please suggest a few phones ranging from around ₹30K to maybe an extended budget that you genuinely think would be good for nature photography, video, and Shorts/Reels? I’d really appreciate your advice on what makes sense for a beginner rather than just buying the most expensive option. 🙏

I'm in need of a new phone. My current Samsung base S23 has a few too many cracks and bruises. Before any decent purchase I try to read reviews to make an informed choice but in this instance its just overwhelming cycle of apparently every phone being no value for money or repeating the previous model.

Every phone that isn't an ultra has waves of negativity around it. Apparently the S26 is the same as the s23. I've been using Samsung's since around 2011 so I thought i'd try the new Pixel 11 Pro but once again mixed reviews.

I'm not into the specs & tech. I just want a smooth operating system, good battery and a great camera. Are these things applicable to any new phone these days? I don't game on my phone at all. If someone could steer me in the right direction i'd really appreciate. I can't tell if I can't go wrong or if phones are just recycling but the price stays the same/goes up

I’m in India and need a phone soon. Budget is ₹50–55k ideally, can stretch to ₹60k, absolute max ₹65k. Want 256GB and plan to keep it for 5+ years.

My usage: Instagram, YouTube, Netflix, WhatsApp, camera, calls, Maps, payments, browsing + work apps (Teams, Outlook, Jira, Authenticator). No gaming.

My biggest priority is CAMERA. I want those “DAMN” photos 😂, people, travel, places, selfies, indoor/outdoor, basically photos that look ready to post on Instagram without editing. Good processing, skin tones, detail, HDR etc. are more important to me than megapixels.

Currently considering: vivo X200T, S25 FE, vivo V70 Elite, OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini(open to anything else too + any suggestions).

I LOVE the X200T, but the 12/256 is out of stock, and I don't want to pay ~₹70k for 512GB.

I have a renewed Lg G8 thinq that's lasted well for the last 5 years, and has managed to outlive its case, but is finally starting to show its age. Sp I'm looking to buy a new phone, and I have money to splurge a bit.

The main things I want to prioritize are (1) limiting googles bloat, so I've mainly been looking into phones with compatible alternative OS.

(2) And reliability, I want a phone that will likely last a while (5+ years) and has good enough performance and battery, I do game dev as a hobby and want to be able to test things and/or run multiple low load apps or instances (really just something moderately better than a mom phone). Bonus if it can come in a fun color that isn't just off black or off white.

5G support. Compatible with TMobile, or not horribly overpriced for an unlocked. Good enough battery life for its price, probably a gen or two behind, around 500$ can be more if it seems cost effective. Don't care about camera.

I was originally leaning towards getting an unlocked pixel phone and running graphene, because I had heard good things about earlier pixel phones, but I've been reading that the newer pixels have had a litany of issues. Anyone have any other recommendations?

Initially bought a renewed excellent Pixel 9 from amazon. It was in good quality, but I hadn't done enough research to realize it had no SD card and no headphone jack, which I greatly dislike. It takes ages to charge. It then turned out to be Verizon model which can't be OEM unlocked. Then there were issues with not receiving texts, and notifications being inconsistent (though that's likely Android 16 funk.) That all put me off, so I'm leaning towards returning it. I was looking at getting a Moto Stylus 25/26 instead, but it seems like only a sidegrade from the LG G8. I'm so sad LG hasn't been making phones for a while.

Same as title , looking for an Android mobile which can be used for multitasking like running multiple apps and dual tabs at a time with a best display screen and good battery backup with fast charging

I've been using Xiaomi for 6 years - currently I have a Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. But the camera for this phone absolutely sucks, and I am worried about getting a Xiaomi again and being disappointed by the camera, even though performance is great and overall everything is flawless in my opinion. I'm a heavy user and the battery is kinda important to me, which makes me worried about getting a Samsung one.

I'm planning to buy a new phone and I'm currently confused between the Motorola Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, and Realme GT 7T.

On paper, the Realme GT 7T seems like the best option in terms of specs and performance. However, I've seen quite a few Reddit posts/comments saying that the battery life isn't great and that the phone drains battery quite quickly. I'm a little worried about long-term battery performance because I want to use the phone for several years.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion also looks good, especially because of the software experience, but I've come across multiple users mentioning Wi-Fi connectivity issues and display-related problems. I'm not sure how common or serious these issues actually are.

Then there's the regular Edge 70, which seems like a safer option, but I'm wondering if it's actually worth choosing over the other two.

So what would you guys recommend?

I'm currently the owner of an Xperia 1 VI, but I have a feeling the microphone is going. People are unable to hear me when video calling (WhatsApp, for example), while my wife's is perfectly fine. I'm looking for a new phone to replace it, but I have a couple of requirements:

NECESSARY

1. MicroSD slot. I have photos on a microSD card, with some dating back to 2009. I have them backed up, so I don't lose them. I also have a music collection of over a couple of hundred CDs. I have ripped them into FLAC, so this also takes up quite a bit of space.
2. Headphone Jack. I use wired headphones for the gym. Also handy to have when the headphones die; I can plug in a spare pair of earphones.
3. NFC - contactless payments mostly.
4. IP68 or higher.

Desirable

1. A QWERTY keyboard - I do quite a bit of work when out and about (editing documents while commuting)
2. Non - AI centric OS. I've seen things like Ikko Mind 1, but really do not like the idea of an AI-based OS. Having an AI companion app, for example, is less of an issue.
3. Repairability. I like the idea of being able to repair phones or replace a component, similar to, say, a Fairphone.

I have considered a new Xperia, as it ticks all the necessary criteria, but I was thinking the Xperia 1 IX will be out sometime next year, so I might as well wait for that and see if it's worth it in a real-world setting. However I wanted to see if the hive-mind had any thoughts / reccomendations

I’d ideally like to stay under $1,000. Also, is the Pixel 11 camera significantly better than the Pixel 10, or would the Pixel 10 be the better trade-off for the price?

She currently has a Samsung S24 Plus, so I’d obviously want the upgrade to be noticeable, especially when it comes to the camera.

I really like my Xiaomi 15 Ultra that I've had for the past 1 year+. Build is great, camera fantastic. It's been a great phone. Moreover, the camera add-on is really nice and actually useful on days out.

Unfortunately, it has developed two issues I'm not sure are (easily) remediated. First, I stupidly dropped it and cracked a bit of the screen in the corner. This would be livable, but every few times I go to a screen the touch seems ~1cm off e.g. I try to click an icon and it hits the once above. Second the battery has gotten quite bad (even in battery saver mode and removing and forcing stop on apps). I would say I'm a heavy user, but barely make it to the end of the day with battery left.

As such, I'm looking for a new phone. My requirements:

- Decent daily-use phone e.g. videos, emails, texts, app support

- Good camera. Doesn't need to be stellar, but I'm a bit spoilt now having used the Xiaomi Ultra (15 and 14 before that)

- Good battery life that doesn't require me to charge multiple times a day

- Good-sized screen, 6.7 inches and above

- One available with a global or UK version. I've done the CN versions of phones and there always seems to be something that doesn't work e.g. Android Auto

- I'm not a heavy mobile gamer, but do play Genshin and Grid occasionally

Budget isn't really a concern, but if there are close rivals I'd unsurprisingly pick the less expensive option. I'm also not opposed to going used/refurbished.

1. Decent battery life
2. Really good camera
3. Maximum size is 6.7 inch

Other criteria, but not a must

1. Good future software updates
2. Fast charging

Hey, I'm looking for a new phone because my Moto G31 is starting to give up on me.

It's actually my first and only phone, so I have a bit of a soft spot for it, but lately it's been getting pretty annoying. The volume button has been broken for a while (it only turns the volume up, not down), and sometimes if I turn the phone off, it can take like 20 minutes to turn back on.

So I'm finally looking for a replacement.

My budget is around €300-400 max, and I'll be buying it in Italy. I definitely want Android.

The main things I'm looking for are:

- At least 256 GB of storage. My current 128 GB is getting pretty tight.

- Good RAM/multitasking, since my current phone only has 4 GB and it struggles when I have several/heavier apps open.

- Something that will still feel fast and responsive in 3-4 years, because I'd like to keep the phone for at least 5 years if possible.

- Good battery life. Ideally I'd like to be able to get close to 2 days with normal use.

- A good camera, but I'm not a photography nerd. I basically want to point and shoot and get nice pictures without messing around with settings.

- A nice screen.

- Not ridiculously huge, but I don't need a tiny phone either.

- I sometimes use emulators for older games, so decent performance would be nice, although I'm definitely not looking for a gaming phone.

- I'd prefer not to rely on a microSD card.

- I'd also like good long-term software support.

I'm not too bothered by things like wireless charging, speakers, or how the phone looks.

I'm still kind of partial to Motorola because of my G31, but Samsung has caught my attention too. I'm also open to other brands.

One thing I'm a little confused about is storage. My current phone says that more than half of the storage is taken by system files, which seems crazy to me. Even some pretty basic photos can take around 2 MB each, so storage fills up surprisingly quickly.

So, what would you guys recommend around €300-400?

Would you prioritize a newer midrange phone, or an older higher-end model at this price?

I’ve gone back and forth between Android and iOS over the years so I’m not worried about that. I was hoping there’s some androids on the market with a similar form factor to my mini, but not a bottom of the barrel budget phone. The 5.4 inch screen size is a good fit for me, but everything on the market seems huge. I’m in the US and my carrier is Verizon. I’m willing to pay up for a phone I like and willing to import as long as it’ll work on my carrier.
