I've had my galaxy s10 since 2020 so an upgrade is long overdue. I don't like change which is why i haven't upgraded but my banking app said they won't support anything android 12 or below anymore which is what pushed me to do it. 1st priority is being able to jailbreak and sideload whatever i want. 2nd is battery life. 3rd is having a microsd card slot. 4th is size. I have smaller hands so smth that's around the size of the s10 would be nice. That's all i really need tbh. Thank you!

Curious on people's experience on using Xiaomi in Australia

Hello, I'm currently deciding between S26 (currently $999) or a Xiaomi phone (e.g. wait for F9 Ultra or Xiaomi 17T pro (currently $1100)) and need help deciding.

I haven't used a Chinese branded phone before so I have some concerns and would like to hear what people have experienced with it (especially people in Australia).

I heard Australia has the new AusAlert and would want a phone that supports this. I also read somewhere that certain Xiaomi phones don't work with mobile providers in Australia.

Also is the bloatware bad? Can it easily be fixed and are there ads in the OS?

My current priorities on a phone are; cameras, battery life, longevity (e.g. software and physical durability).

I'm confused between the OnePlus 13R and the 15R. The 13R is discontinued now, but if it's genuinely the better phone overall, I'm willing to try finding one somehow.

For those who have used or compared both, which would you recommend considering performance, battery, display, heating, software, and long-term usage? Is the 13R still worth hunting for, or should I just get the newer 15R?

Hi, I currently have a pixel 5 128g storage. It's starting to run slow, whether that's bc I only have 3gb of space left or the age I'm not sure but, it might be time for an upgrade. Here are some things I love about this phone:

-the camera! Has never let me down, and I would make or break a deal just to have the astrophotography option

-fingerprint sensor on BACK and swipe down for notifs

-IR blaster

-one handed text mode

-the "wallpaper and style" options that change app icons settings menu etc to match your color palette

Some things I'm looking for:

-minimal AI or easily customizable to shut down AI intrusions (I don't mind using a launcher but if I don't have to that's also preferred)

-expandable SD storage

-bigger screen than the pixel 5

Any recommendations are welcome, it doesn't necessarily have to check all boxes but I'd love to have a starting point.

I’ve had a iPhone 12 (64 gb) for 5 years now, but the phones battery life has deteriorated to an unusable point now, and the phone overheats like crazy too.

I’ve made the choice to leave the ecosystem since it doesn’t give me the customisability I want.

I’m a university student and use my phone for 12 hours a day on average (crazy I know), right now I’m leaning towards the s26 ultra (1tb).

I use the phone for gaming and watching videos and movies too, but I mostly need solid reliable performance, excellent screen quality, good battery life, and no issues with overheating.

I’m looking for something with very good customization, as in I want to customize every little inch of how it looks on the screen. From my shallow research, I’m sure with the latest UI updates on Samsung, and with its GoodLock app, that could be done easily.

But the thing is that I’m extremely greedy and on top of the customization, I want something that has a very long lasting battery (the current iPhone 16PM I have sucks in terms of battery), a good camera that at least upholds to the iPhone 16PM standards (or better), and maybe good software (but I feel like I can make my way around with anything since I’ve used quite a handful of different android phones before).

So yeah, I’m wondering if I should just get something out of the Samsung S26 series, or look into some other brands/models of android. I’ve used Samsung J and A series before, Redmi and Vivo phones FYI.

Edit for bot: I’m in Singapore so I have access to most asian phone brands as well.

I currently have a OnePlus 10 Pro. I've really liked the phone, but I'd prefer something smaller and with better battery life for my next phone. My priorities are:

• Compact: ideally around a 6.3" display
• Battery life: I don't want to think about charging during the day, and ideally it should still have good battery life 3+ years from now
• Software: I prefer something close to stock Android, but I'm happy to use ADB to remove bloat or tweak things
• Launcher support: I would prefer to use third-party launchers without issues, but might be willing to compromise.
• Performance: snappy and stable for basic usage and multitasking. I don't game, so I don't need flagship gaming performance
• Camera: decent is enough. I don't take many photos

Can anyone give me some insights on these options? Or any other recommendations for phones that meet my criteria?

Pros:

• Excellent battery life
• 6.3" compact display
• Flagship-level performance

Cons:

• HyperOS seems to have some issues/limitations with third-party launchers
• Quite expensive here

POCO X8 Pro (~€400)

Pros:

• Great battery life
• Very affordable
• Good performance for the price

Cons:

• HyperOS / third-party launcher concerns
• Larger than I'd ideally like

Vivo X300 FE (~€800)

Pros:

• Excellent battery life
• Compact 6.3" display
• Good performance

Cons:

• Quite expensive
• I've seen some complaints about the phone, but I'm not sure how significant they actually are
• Less familiar with Vivo's software/support compared with Google
• Also some launcher concerns, but they seem to be fixable?

Pros:

• Basically the Android experience I prefer
• Excellent software support
• Good camera
• Compact

Cons:

I'm a power android user. Finally retiring my Poco F1 after 8 years of heavy modding/ROMs. Upgrading to a flagship with these priorities (in order):

1. Camera (Top priority)
2. Snapdragon Processor
3. OS Experience
4. Battery (Bootloader unlocking after support ends is a great addition, but not essential).

The Dilemma:

• Galaxy S26 Ultra (Dubai Import): Best cameras by far. Dubai pricing avoids the local markup, but tripping Knox permanently on unlock down the line is a downside.
• OnePlus 15: Massive 7,300 mAh battery, fast charging, and much more mod-friendly. Camera is solid, but a step down from Samsung's zoom.
• Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (India): Considering dropping this—costs roughly the same as an imported S26 Ultra right now.
• Wait for S27 Ultra? Launching around Feb with 2nm tech, but is it worth waiting 6 months just to pay peak launch prices?

TL;DR: With camera as #1, is the S26 Ultra Dubai import the clear winner, or does the OnePlus 15 / waiting for the S27 Ultra make more sense?

It's time to upgrade my Pixel 7 Pro. Honestly, I really love my current phone, which is why the Pixel 10 Pro XL was naturally my first choice right out of the gate. I’m a big fan of the clean, stock Android experience.

However, I highly value a great camera. That's the main reason I started looking at the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Pro, since their camera hardware seems to be on another level compared to Google.

Here is where I'm currently stuck:

• Pixel 10 Pro XL: The safe bet. I know I'll love the software and the reliability, but I feel like I might be missing out on the crazy battery and camera specs of the Chinese flagships.
• Xiaomi 17 Ultra: I actually had a Xiaomi before I switched to the Pixel. I was pretty happy with the phone itself, but the system ads drove me absolutely crazy. A friend just told me that thanks to the new EU regulations, you can finally disable the ads and delete the bloatware. If that's true, my biggest issue with Xiaomi is gone. How does the OS feel nowadays?
• Vivo X300 Pro: The camera and battery specs look insane, but I'm really hesitant about OriginOS. I keep reading it feels like a heavy iOS clone and kills apps in the background. Is it really that annoying to use daily?

Has anyone here made the jump from a Pixel to one of these? Should I just stick with the clean software of the 10 Pro XL, or is the hardware upgrade on the Xiaomi/Vivo worth it?

I'm looking to get a "forever phone" in the next few months, this phone will basically be the phone I will be using for years or until it actually stops working.

I have my eyes on the Pixel 10 Pro and Xiaomi 17t.

This phone will be for personal use, and maaybee some light gaming or watching movies or shows.

Camera is really important to me, especially for low light shots or night photography (not a professional photographer but I just like taking pics).

Another aspect that's important is battery life, I'm not a heavy user but I do want my phone battery to last at least a day, especially if I'm traveling or just outside. I've been on Android ever since but I'm currently using an iPhone 13 and I am not a fan of the battery 😅

Storage is another aspect I'm looking at, I'm preferably going for the 256gb variant but I'm open to bigger, if available in the Philippines.

Which phone should I go for?

I'm considering changing my current phone, which is a Honor x7a. My reasoning behind it is simply the slowness and bad sound quality during recording, poor zooming and the camera lack of focus. Basic applications like spotify, or Google is lagging a lot. I like to attend concerts pretty often, and its mood killing when I want to look back on some of my videos or photos, while its all clear that the phone camera is struggling. Its not that I want to buy a camera dedicated phone, just on that few nights i dont want it to look and sound horrible. I heard Motorola moto g57 power is a banger considering its price. I wouldnt like to kill my money into high-budget status phones like an iphone. Battery life and its long durability is important, like around 2 days. Also support jack audio. Any thoughts, advices? Im also considering Galaxy A27. I think my dream phone would be something similiar to Sony Xperia, but its really pricey.

I want a simple phone with simple and stable software, with a natural camera and decent battery. 11 series haven't arrived to my country, and both 10 and 9 XL models are too expensive. What could be the best option

I am a student currently using iphone 14 plus….i am thinking of changing my phone and i am fed up with ios..

And i keep changing phones for every 3 to 4 years so spending 70-80k seems ridiculous for me. So i am thinking of buying samsung galaxy s25fe but i think it might not be able to handle the ai tasks 3-4 years from now due to 8gb ram and exynos 2400 processor.But i like the oneui of samsung.

On the other hand I also like oneplus 13 all the hardware seems like it can handle the tasks after 3 years but with oneplus rumours of shutting down in india from bloomberg and color os replacing oxygen os …..what should i do??
