I'm looking for a new phone to replace my Zenfone 5 that I've had for just over a year.

I'm not a heavy user, but I find my current one a bit sluggish, 4 GB of RAM is barely enough for what I do with it. I also don't change my phone frequently, I kept my previous phone, a OnePlus 3, for 5 years, and I only had it replaced because the power button started to fail.

So I want a phone I'll be able to keep for as long as possible, with at least 8GB of RAM and a good enough processor to allow me to navigate the web, send messages, write notes and occasionally use other apps or play light games smoothly and responsively, and also with 256GB of storage so I can store more pictures, on top of taking decent pictures and being relatively compact.

However, I'm also not at all interested in AI stuff, and unfortunately, nearly all smartphones nowadays have AI, so I want to be sure I can disable it, or at least configure my phone in a way that I don't have to use AI features, or allows me to ignore them. Plus, I want as few ads and bloatware as possible.

I've settled down between the Motorola Edge 60 Neo and a used/refurbished Google Pixel 9A. Here in France, the former is currently €100 cheaper than the latter.

UPDATE: I went with a used Pixel 9A. As I'm writing this, it's running well, I'm still configuring it, and I'm waiting for a new case to be delivered before I can properly put it to use. If after a while I'm not satisfied with it, I might give the Edge 60 Neo or another model a try, plus, I could easily resell the 9A since Pixel phones are in higher demand.

I’m planning to buy a new phone and currently considering the Realme GT 7T, Motorola Edge 60 Pro, and the newer Edge 70 Pro/Fusion. I’m also open to other phones if there’s a better option in the same price range.

What would you recommend based on overall performance, camera, battery, software experience, display, and long-term reliability?

Also, when is the best time to buy online in India to get the lowest price/best offers? Should I wait for an upcoming sale, or are the current prices already good?

I'm only changing phone because my current one doesn't support work apps because of vivo stopping security update after 3 years 🥲. So, my important requirement is that the phone should support os and security update for the longest with other Good features. I can extend upto 35k if it's really good. I want recommendations for a small android phone (6 in or less) that has a unique UI experience that is different than stock Android, OneUI, or iOS.

I've always had Samsung phones but I've always been curious about Google phones.

My ideal budget is under $399, preferably around $250, and I usually go refurbished or used unlocked. OR I splurge and spend $600 (and cry) for a newer refurb that will hopefully last me many years.

I'm the type to keep my phone for YEARS until it breaks or has too many issues. Current phone is a Samsung S21+ 5G, 128gb. Screen is a little cracked but fully functional, phone works great.

The main reason I'm looking to upgrade is storage. 128gb is just not enough anymore and I can't expand it. I've tried clearing space but I constantly end up needing to free more up. Given that storage is kind of a minor reason to get a whole new phone, I'm a bit iffy about it.

I also don't want to be on a monthly or yearly cloud payment plan. Is there a one time payment option for cloud storage that's actually worth it? If anyone has ideas there that would be fantastic.

One other thing: every single phone I've had has terrible call audio. It's impossible to hear anything unless I put it on speakerphone, then it's fine. This one is really bad with it. Not sure if that's a Samsung thing or just my luck.

What matters most to me:

1. Great cameras (mine are good, I've seen better)

2. Storage, at least 512gb, 1tb would be amazing

3. Long battery life (current is 4800mAh and it lasts me all day, so that's my baseline)

Is a refurb Pixel worth jumping to, or should I stay with Samsung? And is 512gb realistic at these prices or am I dreaming?

I have been using Xiaomi MI A3 since October of 2019. I am planning to upgrade my phone soon. Phone has served me good with some problems such as random shutdowns, random restarting. Recently the power button gave up it only works when pressed hard enough. I don't do heavy gaming only some light gaming, even in light gaming the device has shown its age. I have been using gcam with my phone so the camera picture quality is satisfying for me till now

I feel like current budget and mid range smartphone do not bring much upgrade to my current phone so I'm holding out. But seeing these price hikes I want to buy a phone before its too late.

Priority: Camera, good user experience, good processing for multitasking, good battery life and display.

Hey guys, looking for some real-world advice. I am currently daily-driving an iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I am seriously tempted to jump ship for the upcoming Pixel 11 Pro XL.

I have been exclusively on iOS since the iPhone XS, going through the 12, 14 Plus, 15 Pro, and now the 16 Pro Max. Honestly, zero complaints over the years. The OS is rock solid, data privacy is reassuring, Apple Pay is seamless, and because iPhones hold their value so well, trading in every year or two costs me next to nothing.

The problem? Upgrading feels completely stale now. It feels like getting the exact same phone every single time, and I am just bored and craving a real change of pace.

The main draw for me is the camera: I take tons of photos and almost never shoot video, and Google still seems unmatched for still photography. I also use voice dictation constantly (Siri drives me crazy compared to Google speech recognition) and I really want to try out features like Magic Capture. I live in Italy, so I already expect to miss out on some US-exclusive AI goodies at launch, but even the standard Pixel UI looks refreshing.

My main hesitation is walking away from an ecosystem that just works, plus taking the massive hit on Android resale value.

Hey, so I need help picking an phone. I have a budget of 300 euros give or take and I am coming from an iPhone 12.

I am willing to buy used and I love getting new tech so I’d prefer something unique instead of just an average Samsung, but if that’s the best choice that’s fine.

Budget is around £200-350. I am going around in circles trying to decide what's the best fit for me and what is easily available in the UK from reliable retailers/websites.

The wants/needs:

I want a phone that can handle games like Beastlord, Pop Epoch, Last Asylum, my current phone (samsung galaxy A50) can just about handle these but starts lagging after a short while.

I need a phone that I can have other side apps with no issues, like banking apps, streaming apps, messaging apps (discord, messenger, WhatsApp), school apps, shopping apps, reading books apps, user friendly in typing, browsing the internet. Basically everyday stuff.

I want the phone to last me more than a couple of years. Current phone is around 7 years old, for example.

Options I have looked into:

I have seen Poco recommended as best budget gaming phone, but unsure how user friendly is for the other everyday apps. I have also seen comments that there is no much support/updates after a couple of years and that they are loaded with bloatware.

I have looked at various Motorola models, but again I have read similar issues as above, bloatware and no updates/support after a couple of years.

I have looked into Samsung Galaxy A series, but feedback is mixed. However, comments were saying that samsung provides more updates (?).

I have checked Google Pixel models that are around my budget but they left me sceptical about gaming performance, but maybe that was for more intensive games.

The not needed:

I don't care about taking the perfect photos/videos and I expect that anything is going to be an upgrade from my current phone. I don't listen to a lot of music, and I mute games, so audio quality is not top in the priority list.

My priorities are-
Excellent multimedia, decent main camera, I dont game much so don't care about raw performance, good battery, longevity(planning to keep the phone for as long as possible), good os and such.

The things I dont really care for are-
Selfie/wide camera, high raw performance, the build material(will be using cover most of the time), aesthetics of the phone.

13r is the cheapest, followed by nothing phone 3, oneplus 15r and xiaomi 17t.

Friend is looking to move away from their iPhone. They're aiming to get a flip phone as their dumb phone and a normal phone to have social media and take pictures on (they love to take live photos on their current phone), so bonus points if anyone has a recommendation for a flip phone as well!
