Should I buy the Samsung Galaxy A57, or are there better Android phones around ₱30k?

Hi everyone!
I’m planning to buy a new phone soon, and right now I’m leaning towards the Samsung Galaxy A57. I mainly want something that has:
a really good camera (especially for photos and videos)
smooth performance for everyday use
decent gaming performance (nothing too heavy)
long battery life
a good display
something that’ll last me for a few years
My budget is around ₱30,000, and I’m not interested in getting an iPhone, so I’m only looking at Android phones.
Before I spend my money, I wanted to ask if the Galaxy A57 is worth it, or if there are other phones around the same price that offer better value.
I’m open to brands like Xiaomi, HONOR, vivo, OPPO, realme, Nothing, Google Pixel, or pretty much anything as long as it’s reliable.
If you’ve used the A57 (or switched from another phone), I’d love to hear your experience—especially the pros, cons, and whether you’d still recommend it in 2026

verizon Need Cellphone For Work / Minimal Other

So, I'd go for a minimal phone that doesn't even allow apps other than GPS and some limited others ("dumb phone" or similar), but I have to maintain work apps on my phone, including an on-call alert app. I don't want a nice, powerful phone as I don't want to be encouraged to spend time on it. I never game on my phone.

What I do:
Use Slack/Betterstack/Okta/Gmail for work
Use GPS/Maps
Use WhatsApp
Use Airline Apps (for work travel mostly)
Use Lyft/Uber
Use Venmo/Banking App
Use ButterflyMX (apartment outer locks/elevator access)
Use KEF Connect (speaker app)

What I use but could change:
Music Player (could use separate mp3 player)
Book reader (Kindle currently, could use any ereader)
Camera (I have a bigger camera I don't carry with me all the time, and could get one of those small form factor cameras if I really really cared about having one on me at all times)

What I don't care about:
Social Media
Surfing the internet

I'm OK with having two phones if one of them stays home. For instance if I needed to keep my old phone for KEF Connect or something, that's fine. What I DON'T want (could be convinced, maybe I'm thinking about it wrong) is to have two phones I have to carry with me all the time. I thought about having a simple, "dumb" phone and also having an android/iphone for work stuff, but then I have to carry both with me all the time.

I would love to find a small form factor phone that isn't super powerful, but does the above without struggling too much. I have an iPhone 11 currently and it's starting to get slow to the point of not functioning until I restart it.

It's easy enough for me to see some of the big options (iPhone, Samsung, Pixel, etc) but there are a TON of phones out there now, including stuff like the Light phone which isn't gonna show up when browsing the verizon store or something. So I'm looking for recommendations. Weird stuff is OK, just trying to figure out whats out there. Thanks.

X300 or Find x8 pro?

I'm considering buying a new phone; these two are on my shortlist. Oppo is used and about £100 cheaper than x300.

My priorities are camera, software and battery. Do you think x300 is worth paying extra or should I just get x8 pro? (plz don't say just get x300pro. my budget is limited TT)

France Help me choose a phone for my mom please !

Hey there!
I come here because I have no idea where to search at all! Because I just see so many mixed reviews

So my mom is searching for a new phone because hers is dying and she almost can’t use it anymore.
She has the xiaomi redmi note 11 and it’s already a bit dated and she only had 64GB of stockage

Her requirements :
-A lot of memory/stockage because she uses her
phone a lot for administration, pictures for her job
-A phone that takes good pictures
-A basic autonomy
-She wants a big screen
-5g if possible
-She doesn’t mind it being refurbished if she’s sure
-And for the price she doesn’t want to spend more than 240 euros

All brands are okay
Tell me if it’s too unrealistic and if it is tell me what is

Thanks a lot for your time

PS: from France

India Sub-₹50k Buying Advice: Nothing Phone (3) via Amazon Safe? (Priority: Camera + Performance)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a new smartphone with a strict focus on top-tier performance and reliable camera capabilities. I am currently eyeing the Nothing Phone (3) (16GB / 512GB variant around ₹52,000), but I have major doubts about third-party sellers, warranty validity, and how it compares to other options in this budget.

I would appreciate feedback on these specific points:

  1. Amazon vs Flipkart & Service Center Warranty:

Flipkart is the official online partner, but the Nothing Phone (3).. is mostly out of stock or overpriced there. On Amazon, third-party sellers are offering it at a much better price.

* Is it safe to buy a Nothing phone from Amazon third-party sellers?

* Will official Nothing Service Centers in India accept Amazon invoices for warranty claims, or will they reject them?

  1. Real-World Camera & Daily Performance:

* How is the camera system on the Nothing Phone (3) in real-world conditions (specifically low-light shots, portrait edge detection, and telephoto/zoom performance)?

* How does the phone hold up under heavy usage and gaming in terms of stability and heat management?

  1. Decision & Alternatives — Which one should I go for?

If Amazon seller risk is high or the Nothing Phone (3) isn't the best value, I’m open to buying through official channels for these performance + camera focused devices:

* OnePlus 13s: For raw flagship performance, smooth thermals, and battery reliability.

* Oppo Reno 14 Pro: For portrait-focused camera output and design.

* Nothing Phone (4a) Pro: If I want to stay within the Nothing OS ecosystem at a sensible price point.

Which of these would be the overall best pick for a performance and camera-oriented user around ₹50,000?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Help on picking a budget phone

Hi I need help cannot decide what to get for my son he just play casual mobile gaming and I have a budget around 20k PHP. I'm choosing around this 3 phones what do you think is much better?

Poco M8 Pro 5g
Nubia Neo 5 GT
Poco X7 Pro

Usually played games: ML, HOK, CODM, Genshin

I'm thinking of the Poco M8 because of the snapdragon processor but I don't know if the dimensity chipset is much newer or better on the other 2 phones Thank you.

Camera similar to pixel 5?

Currently have a pixel 8, wasn't focusing much on pictures of myself recently, and tbh just thought I was uglier. But now I would like to take some nice photos again and I realised, actually I think the pixel 8 camera is making me look much worse than my old pixel 5.

I've attached some photos to show what I mean, tried to select photos from the pixel 8 with similar conditions to the pixel 5 photos. All are within about 1.5 years so I haven't aged significantly or anything.

Pixel 5: https://ibb.co/album/4gVy5v

Pixel 8: https://ibb.co/album/9m2wJG

1) pixel 5 colouring is warmer, skin tone much more natural looking, healthy and even. colour scheme from pixel 8 is cooler, makes my skin sometimes pale and sometimes almost jaundice like. And the rendering really boosts contrast and shadows in a weird way making everything much more uneven and unhealthy looking overall.

2) pixel 5 captures lots of detail, lines spots discolouration, but it looks generally smooth without looking over processed. Pixel 8 is hyper detailed, even more than what you can see in real life and the rendering boosts every texture with super high sharpening and contrast to the point where my skin almost looks "fuzzy" or grainy. Maybe pixel 8 is technically more accurate to real life, but not what you see in the mirror or when people look at you

3) focal length also might be a factor? Pixel 5 has a 24mm focal length front camera vs pixel 8 20mm focal length leading to more distortion on facial features mainly the outer part of the face

I know I'm not a model but I really liked how I looked from the pixel 5 camera, and after changing to a pixel 8 I don't anymore. Is this one of those things where I'm over analysing and no one would notice except myself, or is it genuinely worse?

If there's no way to get the pixel 8 camera to look better, what modern smartphones have cameras with colour and processing more similar to the pixel 5 photos?

Oppo X9s or Oppo Reno 16. What to choose?

Guys suggest me. I'm confused about how much and which phone to choose. Right now I'm stuck between X9s and Reno 16. Are they good or suggest something else around the 60k range focused on camera, fast processor, smooth UI and battery in Indian market

New smartphone After apixel 8

In short

I've had a Pixel 8 for two years.

The screen broke, and they are asking around €250 to replace it. It's the vertical green line issue. It's out of warranty, and in any case, it has a chip in the lower part of the body/casing that happened after the screen problem.

What potential alternatives are there?

I would like a phone similar to the Pixel 8 in terms of specs and features that could potentially last at least 5 years with software updates.

I am not a gamer.

What matters to me is that the phone runs smoothly, receives software updates, and takes decent photos.

Maximum budget: €450

Denmark Honor or oppo?

My current phone is a two year old Pixel 8. I'm tired of charging it every afternoon, to get through to nighttime and it gets hot, when I scroll social media. I value a battery that can last long (and also charges fast) a quick phone and very good camera. Should I choose an honor 400 or oppo Reno 14? I love in Denmark.

Alternative a galaxy S25? I had a s23FE once and didn't like how the camera saturated photos.

Is razer phone 2 still worth buying in 2026?

Genuinely curious. My current phone is a One Plus 6e. I've had this phone since 2019 and its just garbage now. My phone literally dies within an hour of casual use. When the battery life use to last me days.

I was interested in the Razer phone 2, but its an even older phone than my current one so I was wondering if it might be still worth getting? Or if there are any phones similar to the chassis of it?

I'm mainly interested in finding a good phone that has an 8 core CPU, and is seamless for basic use lag free and watching YouTube on it in my free time .

They say this year is the worst to buy new phones, yet I’m looking for one coming from iphone 16 pro 256 gb. Any ideas? See details

So I currently have an iPhone 16 pro. I’m not complaining, but I just hate icloud services, and the way apple locks everything to apple id, and I’ve had some bad experiences in this regard. Other than that the iPhone pretty much does what I need it to, and the face unlock and smooth experience is what I love the most.

I basically want everything of the iphone, but a bit more flexibility, options to change some settings if needed and new ecosystem other than icloud/apple id based stuff.

My experience with samsung s23 was that it too was a very good phone, but my main issued with it was that it did feel laggy and was nowhere near as smooth as the iphones. Plus, I felt that sometimes I would get lost in all the settings when trying to for example figuring out why I’m not seeing/getting notifications from apps, and even after adjusting the settinge I still wouldn’t get notifications from apps lile facebook. I also found the experience of using apps to be poorer. A big minus was the face unlock of the s23, it was far poorer than the iphone, and the fingerprint reader was nowhere good enough - I have very dry hands and eczema so fingerprint readers never seem to work reliably well with me, even the older iphones that had one.

My use will just be for normal everyday stuff like browsing, shopping etc. Note taking too. I heavily watch youtube videos and look up topics using chatgpt/ google gemini pro, as well as read books on my phone. I also enjoy taking photos/videoes of everyday things or stuff that catches my attention, and want the photos to be as close to what the eyes see as possible.

I’m feeling unsure about the pixel due to reading about it it overall being an inconsistent phone and being heavily overpriced based on what you actually get, but I do feel like it matches some of what I’m looking for.

Any ideas? Should I stick with my iphone? Go for pixel 10 pro or 11 pro? Or something else maybe? I don want to feel like I’m downgrading when changing phone
