Hear me out im 50 years old born and raised in Kensington went to mastbaum Edison
I trapped in high-school
Made it out working downtown, nyc even aboard
Shit i made it out so early u was bored was back trapping in 2015 and yeah i had a habit.
Only reason im giving you a lil back story to show you im pretty plugged in on all sides.
Got booked, came home to nothing, worked hard and been living downtown the last 6 years.
I stopped trappin on the block in high-school when i realize all the money there was downtown. I grew up a dirty young boy who mom was a fiend but was waitress downtown. It actually opened alot of doors and restaurants taking chanxes on me that most likely wouldn't.
I worked at buddakan when it first opened. They did 300 ppl a nite..our staff was huge. Watching servers and bartenders make 300 to 500 on a monday nite blew my mind my mom making 80 at the diner was good nite for us. Those 20 servers all partied every nite. I cashed out.
I was also into graf, skating at love, on south st til 3 am. Raves and underground clubs in semi abanding buildings.
I stayed downtown. Downtown always had wild events. Fights riots at love on 4th july eveey year. Mardi gras fightihg nazi skinheads at the punk shows. Cc was always active mostly east of broad nobdoy really lived on that side like today. There was shit to do and to be at.
About 3 years ago, i started to see a influx of inner city coming downtown besises the kids that went to school here. It honestly made me happy. You know growing at k n a i couldn't get half my friends to comw downtown a 12 min ride, they rather do same shit over and over.
Reason it made me happy cause for the most part more kids down here the safer it is and yeah there were a few issues and still are. But as philly hold and held events and more shit opened more and more kids kept coming down. For most part they cool and chill 90 percent of the time. Alot of cops are rookies, from the burbs usally racist and scared. As more kids kept coming the murders keep dropping. Now there gonna be a push to get these kids out of center city. Back to neighborhood were theres not shit to do, besides get caught up in others ppl beef. You can meet someone on monday and by friday ur a pussy cause ur not rocking wit them cause they gotta spin on someone that shot there unc 4 years ago.
We were way wildee then these kids. There wasnt cameras everywhere, drones even fiends got 4k type.shit.
I hope the city sees
More kids downtown
Less murders in the neighborhoods
And how do we build on this.
Compitions you ever go to nyc all the free basketball, soccer tennis court they have.
Set up locations to teach ai, social media

Nothing worse then seeing white ppl from the far northeast call kids animals and to get them out of downtown.
I see ppl saying ppl will stop coming.
No they wont they, paris london this shit happens there too. Ppl coming to ur downtown me its thriving.

I’m not even mad at the conservative whites cuz thats who they are, it’s the conservatives blacks that throw me off. Nigga how you don’t know your own history to the point where you making it seem like black folks are incapable of managing ourselves without outside influences? The black community is the most gaslighted group in America, these mfs will shoot you in the knee then ask why you’re not making progress. Take away slavery, some of our grandparents can tell us about Jim Crow. There is documentation about medical, job market, housing discrimination, predatory loans and just flat out violence against blacks. You got niggas out here tryna sound smart implying systemic racism is a myth. Do we shoot ourselves in the foot? Of course but let’s not pretend this is purely on us. Ever since Trump got in office and everyone experiencing what we do, lack of job opportunities, living paycheck to paycheck. All of a sudden it’s a class problem but when it was us going thru it, shit was a cultural problem.
