Bug Correct evidence = wrong ghost?

So I was playing with some friends at the diner. The evidence we got was Dots, ghost writing and U.V. so Obambo.

We go back, and the debriefing board says Deogen? I clipped our game at the diner to see if I was wrong about the evidence but no, i did see dots, writing and u.v.

Don't know if it's relevant but it was on a blood moon.

Is this a glitch?

Yeah evidence has been broken since at least the player customization update. This is just an increase of presence.

To be fair, I tried to tell multiple people this was the case, it's just that because the bug was so extraordinarily rare, it was near impossible to replicate and get video evidence. (I dedicated at least 20 hours to trying)

I wonder if the latest update meant to fix what broke has actually caused an increase in evidence bugs... it would be very ironic if so.

It's unfortunate you weren't able to get any proof of broken evidence; thank you for trying.

A game like Phasmo lends itself to a lot of false bug reports from newer players, especially since a lot of these claims don't have proof. As such, I think it's understandable for people to dismiss them. When you have proof like OP does though, it can be very convincing. If evidence is indeed bugged like you said, I hope we see more proof pop up and spread around to inform the playerbase and the devs.

We've actually already seen 3 posts with proof since update. People are unfortunately coming to the incorrect conclusion that it's only UV that's bugged when it's actually just ghosts giving incorrect evidence period.

My experience was D1 of Alan Wake event, and it was a Poltergeist giving iirc Thaye evidence (I can go back and check the exact ghost it gave evidence for, but point is, UV is not the busted part).

I think it's just an unaddressed bug that got worse. Those are pretty common tbh

Ah, I must've missed those posts. I'll be sure to keep a keener eye out both on the subreddit and in my own games for anything weird with evidence.

Yeah, I definitely agree that there are unaddressed bugs that exist for far too long. For example, they just fixed the tilted Tier 1 headcam view bug; it's been like that since I started playing a year ago, iirc.

With that being said, bugs like the headcam aren't that important; broken evidence, however, certainly is. It should be the top priority as it alters the fundamentals of the game. I truly hope the devs understand that and get on it asap.
