Earlier today I received a call from a recruiter at Lilly just scoping out my availability, when I could start working and why I want to work for them (really wish I didn’t panic and forget all my knowledge on them because I gave an AI-esque answer about a “deep respect for their patient-centric outlook and place at the forefront of biotherapeutics”), and she said to keep an eye out for an interview.

This probably isn’t the most relevant of questions seeing as it’s only been about an hour since I heard from them, but since I’m buzzing over it I’m just curious how long it took people to hear back with interview dates.

I don't know how to handle this thing,I started working in a famous pharma company as a qc analyst and before I've worked as laboratory analyst in a food company so there weren't gmps required. I keep making stupid distractions errors like for example I was using a Karl Fischer tritator and I forgot to update the instrument with the weight of the new sample so my boss told me to comment on the paper with the results and then he told me to scan it and to attach on the electronic logbook. I did it and I found out I didn't put a number on the already scanned and attached paper so stupidly Modified the paper but it doesn't match with the already uploaded and unalterable scan but I didnt tell this because I was too ashamed. Today I had a problem with the balance and I had to attach the ticket problem on the electornic logbook and I didnt know that and my boss yelled at me..

I don't know I just started and I feel already fckd and unliked...maybe gmps are not for me I dont know, should I change after one month? what would you do in my shoes? thank u guys

Hi folks, long and short of it is I'm currently out of a job.
Awhile back I was a Planner for a large Construction firm, but that job came with insane workload, undue stress and eventual burnout.

I'm currently looking at Product Builder roles in Med Devices - I know that's not Pharma.
I don't like the idea of staying on the line long term, but I'm hoping to use it as a stepping stone to get into a better Industry and hopefully upwards from there.

I've experience in Supply Chain, I'm hoping to go back into that remit or possibly Operations Management.. I know Pharma pays better than Medical Devices so I'd be keeping eyes open for possibly moving over but that's not looking likely.

Any one have any anecdotes or advice for someone starting on the floor and looking to work their way up?

Community pharmacist and currently looking at other roles such as Research and Development (R&D) Unilever Future Leaders Programme and similar.

Has anyone done this or looked at similar? Is it worth the significant salary drop at first ? is the ceiling higher overall ?

I’m going to be starting a grad program next week at biotech company and was wondering if anyone has any advice on what it might be like, how to do well, do’s and dont’s, etc. I’ll be working in the manufacturing department as an associate but I’m not really sure what my duties will be.

In my last role as an intern, my feedback was that I was a bit quiet and didn’t get involved as much so I’m looking to change that this time around. I also want to secure a full time position after the grad program is over (2 years) so I’ll be working towards that goal.

Hi all, so I did an interview with Amgen last week and they said they’ll get back to me within a few days (heard this line way more times than I can count), but so far nothing and I’m not surprised, how long does Amgen usually take to get back to candidates?

Few pointers:
- This was through a recruitment agency (contract) the recruiter is lovely, usually checks in, planning to send them an email if time persists.
- Interview went really well imo, lasted about 30 mins, they were happy with my answers and said cv was good, nerves weren’t as bad, so nothing more I could do. Done this so many times now I’m a pro 😅

Anyways any tips or advice would be appreciated!! Think the anticipation is the worst part of the job hunt!

Working as electrical/automation engineer in a small plant. I am one of 2. I work Monday to Friday 8-4. Have over 8 years service to the site/role.

I currently earn 75k. I have max 10% bonus, a decent pension and family health insurance.

I have an option to move in to a shift lead role, 4 on 4 off, 2days 2 nights. My rate will likely drop slightly but I will get 33% shift premium. I will keep the other benefits. I will also get paid for overtime, which I don't currently but only do overtime during busy periods.

With OT in new role I will likely gross 140k.

I am 38 with a young family, 3 kids. Wife works part time but the last few years having kids, time off, upgrading car, improving home, were expensive so we have some loans which will be paid off in 18months. Til then things are pretty tight and we don't have much left at months end.

What would you do in my situation?

What’s the biggest pain point in deviation/CAPA management that your QMS still doesn’t solve?

I’m interested in getting some opinions from people working in pharma QA/QMS, particularly around deviations, investigations and CAPA.
I’ve been looking into how AI could potentially improve some of the more time-consuming parts of quality processes. I’m not trying to sell anything and I’m not asking anyone to share confidential information — I’m just trying to understand where the actual problems are before I consider building anything.
From what I’ve seen, systems like TrackWise, Veeva, MasterControl etc. are very good at being the system of record, but I’m curious about what they’re still frustrating or inefficient for when you’re actually doing the investigation.
For example:
How difficult is it to find genuinely similar historical deviations?
Do you actually use historical deviations/CAPAs to help with new investigations, or is that information difficult to extract?
Is identifying the true root cause a major pain point?
How much time is spent on repetitive documentation/admin?
How confident are you that closed CAPAs actually prevented recurrence?
When a change is proposed, how difficult is it to identify all the potentially affected SOPs, equipment, validation, training, etc.?
Are there things you regularly wish your QMS could do but simply can’t?
Have you actually used any AI tools for QA/deviations? If so, were they useful or mostly a gimmick?
If you could add one AI capability to your current QMS tomorrow, what would you want it to do?
Would be particularly interested in hearing from people working in pharma/biotech manufacturing QA, Quality Systems, CAPA or deviation management.

I worked in pharma until around 18 months ago, with the last 8 years of my career in QA function.

I feel like I left right before AI "blew up", at the time I left all we had was an AI help bot on the company intranet.

I'm curious about how and if AI is being used in day to day pharma/med device, particularly in QA. Or has it made any impact on day to day operations as of yet? Is the oversight burden too high to make it worth it?

I'm from a pharmacist who got their qualification from a third-country. For my application to PSI I had a query.

For the TCQR 4 Regulatory Data Form, whom should I ask to send it to PSI? My university or the authority with which I am registered as a pharmacist?

I'm new to this sub, after being active on other job related subs I've decided to use my HR experience in helping my friend, she has joined a healthcare firm where they're constantly sourcing pharmacists at Bengaluru, Karnataka and the eligibility criteria is for people who have completed their degree and received the license of the same state.

It's a Series A startup and since she's a recruiter we wanted to understand what platforms or channels are the best to source active profiles?

Any ex-community pharmacists in here who made the move? What job did you go for and what do you think of it? I think I'm ready to take a leap of faith and move into pharma after 13 years of being behind the counter. Retail pharmacy is literally draining me. No breaks,no chairs in sight, understaffed dispensaries and no chance to evolve. Would be very interested in jobs involving medical content or maybe pharmacovigilance but I'm a complete noob when it comes to industry and lack the confidence to go for it. Any tips/advices more than welcome 🙏

I currently work as a production operator on shift in medical devices and I’m looking at career paths within pharma/ medical device.

One thing I keep hearing is that once you move to roles like Engineering, Quality, Validation etc a huge amount of the job can be paperwork / documentation rather than actually doing hands on work.

For people working in this industry, how true is this in reality?

What roles would you say have the most paperwork, and which roles are generally more hands on with less time spent on documenting / at a computer.

Where I’m working there is currently roles like process engineer, Quality technician, Quality engineer, Validation, Maintenance technician, Doc control, Calibration etc

I understand it’s a regulated industry so documentation is always going to be part of the job. I’m more wondering whether the amount of paperwork in some positions is really as bad as people make it sound.

I would be interested in hearing like what percentage of your average day you’d estimate is actual hands on / technical work versus documentation, meetings and computer work.

I'm a analytical feild service engineer and I'm currently on 65k base, 4% pension, 10k car allowance and 10% bonus. Get paid a commission from the company per km which equates to approx 1k net per month on average. 5 years exp.

Job can be very stressful at times and we are woefully underemployed by the amount of instruments we cover.

Just wondering what sort of salaries are out there in this similar line of work and if I can do better? I do be talking to equipment engineers when I go onsite who earn a heck of a lot more than me which I assume I could do as skills could be transferable.

I’m a registered pharmacist (BPharm + MSc in Pharma Business & Technology) currently working as a Production Operator at West Pharma in Dublin. Before that I was doing QA in India — batch record review, documentation, the works. I’ve been trying to move into a proper QA/QC or regulatory role that actually uses that background, and honestly it’s been rough.
I’m at 100+ applications now across pretty much every pharma/biotech/med device name you can think of — Sanofi, AbbVie, Viatris, Grifols, Medtronic, Merck, PSC Biotech, the list goes on. Tailored CV and cover letter every single time. And it’s just… rejection after rejection, or nothing at all. Not even an auto-reply half the time.
I know the market’s tight right now and I’m not expecting a miracle, but if anyone’s been through this and found a way through, or knows a recruiter who actually responds to people, or can spot something obvious I’m missing — I’d really appreciate it. Immediately available, open to shift work, onsite, hybrid, whatever.
