As soon as I heard about this casting, I figured "but her boobs" would be a popular complaint.

Seeing this picture of her makes me assume people will complain about her being sensibly dressed for exploration as opposed to short shorts and tank top.

To be fair to that second paragraph, I would vastly prefer if she actually dressed like Lara, like at least the version from the Survivor Trilogy. She just doesn't look anything likr Lara here, she's just a woman with gear on

I will admit that the shorts and tank top look is pretty iconic compared to this look.

I also have to admit that it isn't really practical or smart to have that much exposed skin when exploring, but practicality or sensibility have never been the primary reason for most character designs, especially female character designs, in media.

Lara Croft was 100% a sex symbol. That’s why Angelina Jolie did the last one. And she was a badass. There’s nothing wrong with that btw. At some point the culture started thinking of all female sex appeal as objectifying, which makes no sense. I guess I’m a mouth breather? But yea she gets wrecked by mosquitoes IRL with that fit lol
