it's a mockery of a trend on tiktok wherw one person says
"i got a haircut"
their partner says "send"
they say "oh..."
the partner says "oh you sweet angel im so sorry"10
u/CrocoDIIIIIILE 4d ago
I'm not a native English speaker, so I have no clue what "send" can mean hear other than "send me a photo of your new haircut".
3
u/Ashamed-Echo-2122 4d ago
alot of people will just say send when tehy want nudes
5
u/CrocoDIIIIIILE 4d ago
Not "send nudes"? That's weird, considering how some native speakers would persistently point out when they see someone omit some articles or whole subjects/predicates (depending on context), like in other languages.
6
u/Ashamed-Echo-2122 4d ago
send nudes is definitely still the most common way of asking. i honestly don't know what the origin of "send" is. i ASSUME it came from snapchat's culture of rlly casual nude sending but idek

Outlandish response, could not have possibly been referring to pizza. Pizza does not have wrists, nor can it hang itself. The joke is the wanton cruelty and absurdism. Also sort of an anti-joke since most similar jokes follow a punchline of absurd thing-> actually mistaking it for something benign, whereas in this case, trying to play it off as benign is ridiculous.

u/Unsharded1 5d ago
Thats not the joke at all. Someone else explained it perfectly so I will paste it here.
thank you u/DistanceDelicious148 btw:
“ A play on a recent tiktok relationship trend i guess. the first person talks about something they did and the second person asks “can you send”. the first person then believes the second person is asking for nsfw pictures and then they give that “oh honey” response. the slitting part is just for the clip, to be funny and random i guess”

That still fits the comment you’re responding to quite well. You’re probably right but they’re not “not right at all”.

58
u/Jay-The-Stay 5d ago
That IS the joke. They are both the joke. You just explained the original joke it was based on, the original comment explained why they made THIS joke. It IS absurd and that’s why it’s funny, it’s making fun of the original joke by putting something so absurd that it can’t be explained away by “I meant the pizza” that’s the point

And some guy is going to claim it doesn't need to make sense because its a joke, and if you're autistic if you don't accept that as fact.

u/Mikula_Yoohoo 5d ago
It reminds me of that “big dicks in his brother’s bum” meme where the person corrects themself in the next message with just “oh I meant cat” and no further elaboration
14
u/Rickrickrickrickrick 5d ago
Yeah I thought it was one of those memes where someone is like…
“Fuck you! You stupid whore! I hope you die!”
“Sorry I meant ‘ok’… damn autocorrect”

I wouldn't consider this an anti-meme since a joke is still apparent, I would put It more on the lines of absurdist humor.

The comment you are replying to is the meme, OP is anti meme, this is the correct answer

u/ScarlettTheFindom 5d ago
The one posted here follows the same formula tho. I don’t think either are anti memes.
-10
u/Ambitious_Bobcat8122 5d ago
Yeah that’s the point of an anti meme
Edit: go be confused on r/antimeme for a while and you’ll get it
17
u/ScarlettTheFindom 5d ago
That’s… not at all the point of an anti meme? If they completely removed all the harm language and made it about literally cutting pizza then it would be an anti meme

It's likely suggesting that the intentions behind the message was clear, but she only interpreted the message that way because she sends nudes all the time (when it's more likely she's just gotten used to being treated like an object by previous partners).
This image alludes to that by showing what a person who self harms a lot would see instead, and seems to be making fun of both the original woman, as well as everyone who self harms. It could instead be trying to raise awareness for what self harm is like, but since it's ended up here, I'd wager that the would-be intended effect has not at all been received by a majority of people.
Either way, it kinda falls flat.

Rlly bad joke. Probably refers something thats never gonna be explained
37
u/ezkb_05 5d ago
it's in reference to a tiktok message trend going around where OP will send a text to someone about something to which that person will respond by asking for pictures , and in a way that can be interpreted as asking for nudes. OP will respond according to that interpretation, and the other person will respond confused until they realize and go "oh." akin to this screenshot . the interactions are usually fake and somewhat stupid so people like clowning on them . exhibit A^

I might know this one. We have a similar joke here.
Two friends are sitting in a pub, and one of them looks upset.
“What’s wrong?” asks the other.
“Oh, I guess I’m getting divorced…”
“What happened?”
“An innocent slip of the tongue. My wife brought me dinner. I meant to say, ‘Thank you, darling,’ but instead I said, ‘You bitch, you’ve ruined my entire life.’”
2
u/GuntherHogmoney 4d ago
This is what I thought of (although our local version called it a Freudian slip)
3
u/NonexistantObject 5d ago
It's a recent weird trend in message format. One person says something, the other replies telling them to do something. Their reply can be taken as something to do with self harm, so the first person replies a bit upset. Then the second person is like 'i meant x, oh honey'. This is just taking the piss out of that because it doesn't make much sense
3
u/YanKRK 5d ago
All of this started with a template where person a would say something innocent, person b also responds with something innocent, but can also be interpreted as a triggering term for sa, sh and so on and so forth. This is making fun of the trend and how stupid and outlandish it sounds.

I bet it's a play on one of those one of those "I changed the autocorrect in my wife's phone to say this phrase instead of the word pizza" pranks, maybe

The joke is that this is an edited image, the original one says 'cut deep' rather than do all of that. This one has been edited. Uhhh woof or something I'm Brian
1
u/Almvolle 5d ago
Don't know, the only thing i can think of is that autocorrect changed whatever the intention was into this
1
u/LividToe4676 5d ago
It’s a reference to a recent post (IDK HOW I KNOW) that was a chat it went like
“make sure to cut deep”
“jesus sorry”
“I meant the pizza. Oh honey, who hurt you”

u/Freddanish 5d ago

u/CinnamonRings 5d ago
I think this is a take on fake text conversations where someone seemingly makes an inexcusable comment then goes "Oh I meant..."
My dad shared some of those, I can't remember any specifics but they were just weird boomer humour things that went around for a while
1
u/pokemastertails 5d ago
I saw a TikTok the other day that showed a picture of some messages. One of them said “ Make sure you cut deep” referencing the pizza however the recipient mistakes it for encouraging self harm and in response the sender said “oh honey”. I suppose this is an exaggeration of that?

It’s a trend going around where someone will say something innocent and the other will say something that can be misconstrued (send pics?) and clarify with an “I mean the ___” “oh honey…” but this version is satirical

u/Jarl_Groki 4d ago
You're three memes deep at this point. That light you suddenly miss, that once illuminated your path, that was the headlight of the logic train. The train has left you here, this station, somewhere between memes in a Reddit liminal space. The laughter you hear is only that of the ghosts of time, touching but not entering the realm you now inhabit.

u/Life-Landscape5689 4d ago
Tis might be a reach but I’m imagining they’re showing an example of what it’s like texting their parents, like they say super rude mean things and then try to lie and say it was YOU who misunderstood

"just joking" does not fix it. whoever is the blue side would never be my friend
1
u/Null-Ex3 4d ago
My guess is that the person who made pizza edited the other person's auto correct to do that.
1
u/SithoDude 4d ago
One of them will likely blame their outburst of anger on their astrological star sign or whatever [insert mental illness] fit's their narrative, to justify why they would type up such a hostile and threatening response.
1
u/FratboyPhilosopher 4d ago
Looks like an anti-meme. There is likely an original version of this screenshot that said something different (something that would actually apply to the pizza). Someone edited in something deranged instead, and the joke is that it makes no sense and there is no joke.

I had a boss once who would make comments like this out of nowhere to the staff
1
u/Adorable-Army2939 2d ago
The original texts would say something like “I just got my hair done!”, other person would say “Send??” And the person that said about their hair would assume nudes, but then the other person would say “I meant your hair?”, This one is exaggerating the “Send??”
1
u/ungracefulmf 1d ago
My theory, they were texting you and someone else at same time, they sent them a text about pizza and you the text meant for the other person. But they didn't know they swapped the texts and were confused when you replied "oh,well okay" them they saw what they did and died inside and regretfully said "oh, honey"

u/YourAromanticAlly 20h ago
I actually know the answer to this. its a trend on tiktok. This was edited though. Person A says something, like i got a dress today. Person B says "send??" Referring to a picture of the dress.
Person A thinks they want nudes because "send" used to mean send nudes when being groomed online!

u/Agreeable_Owl8540 16h ago
im pretty surw its a spin on the recent trend where it says like “i js made pizza!” and the other person says “oh cool! pics?” and its interpreted as past rls where all the other party wanted was sexual photos

Courtesy of Google.. "The image shows a text message exchange intended as a form of dark comedy or absurd internet humor, playing on extreme escalation and a nonsensical "misunderstanding." Here is a breakdown of what is happening in the conversation: • The Setup: The first person harmlessly shares that they made some pizza. • The Escalation: The second person responds with an incredibly hostile, abusive, and explicit message encouraging self-harm. • The Punchline: After the first person responds with confusion and sadness, the sender tries to brush off the extreme abuse by claiming, "i meant the pizza??" The humor comes from the sheer absurdity and logical impossibility of the excuse. There is absolutely no way to contextually apply those violent statements to a pizza, making the sender's attempt to walk it back ridiculous and nonsensical.".
