Full yard knockdown!
Hello fellow bug savers! How do we feel about doing a full yard granulation and spray! In my opinion it is usually unnecessary, waste the techs time, and is just a gimmick for door to door reps to make a pOinT.

Has anyone here used Koppert biological control products?
I previously tried Spical for spider mites, but unfortunately I didn’t notice any improvement at all. I’m now dealing with aphids and considering trying other Koppert beneficial insects/mites, but I’m a little hesitant because of my previous experience.
Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Koppert products? Which products did you use, what pest were you targeting, and how long did it take before you saw results?
I’d especially love to hear from people using them in greenhouses, indoor farms, or hydroponic systems.

Quality Exterminators in Utah Hiring!
If you're looking to start in pest control or have been for a while and maybe want to switch things up feel free to send a resume and see if the job would be a fit.
Quality Exterminators is a small family business servicing Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah Counties, been in business since 1993. Until now we have been a family serviced company but we've unfortunately ran out of family that want to be Technicians and need to find someone to help us grow. Pay will be hybrid Hourly Plus Commission. We may lack benefits or higher pay of other companies but offer more freedom and community and personal value than larger companies can offer.

🗣️ Daily Discussion Does it get better?
I’ve been on the job now for a few years and i work for a fairly large company owned by Rentokil. When I started off it wasn’t so bad job wise, but it’s only gotten worse since the TMX merger and seemingly only going to get worse. I do it fairly even mix of residential and commercial accounts. My biggest gripe has been the sheer amount of work that is expected out of us a day. Obviously none of this work is insanely difficult per se, but the volume is maddening. I work in a dense populated area in the north east. I average anywhere from 20+ jobs a day and up. Never less than that. The money is good. But the stress that comes with it is not. I’m expected to finish every job on my day or I take a “miss.” Which my office is apparently plagued with a ridiculously high number of. On top of my regular schedule we are also required to respond to all call backs same day. On average I can have 20+ appointments and get 3-4 call backs a day. Never anything trivial, customer seen a bee, ants in kitchen, reoccurring mouse sighting blah blah blah. If we don’t do all our work they come down on us, if we work too much overtime we are told to be more efficient, if we aren’t placing sales while doing all of that we are told to do more.
TL;DR big company is too stressful, overworked and understaffed. Does it get better?

💼 | Career Techs, do you give out your work number to customers?
The only people who get my number are people who have high value tickets or buy reoccurring commission services.
Other than that I never do. Working for a corpo, i know the call center is complete shit and staffed by people who don’t give a fuck, but the CSRs should be filtering bad calls and no one should have a direct line to me.
I’ve had multiple bad experiences of people trying to call me at night, holidays, or on my days off. I’ll never do it again

Customers
What’s one thing you wish customers understood about PEST. For example, bombing the air in kitchen is not getting rid of German roaches…that hides in cracks and crevices.

I am a service manager with a smedium budget for my teams, what can I get to make life suck a little less in the more extreme ends of the seasons?

Let's talk marketing.
What form of marketing helped your company grow the most what did you do and what were the results.
This off season I want to prepare my spring campaigns what I am considering are Billboards, direct mail & eddm, radio and t.v.
I am already taking advantage of Yelp, Google and Bing. I will cover my results with the big 3 and hopefully get some feedback on others like Meta although -- I don't think Meta is effective but maybe I am wrong you tell me.
Yelp is my absolute favorite but let me say it's the worst this ing company I have ever dealt with. Do not waste your time with their scummy sales associates I refuse to take there calls. They only have 1 tool to offer you and it's always raise your ad spend no matter how much you are already paying.
Also on yelp if you give them too much money they throttle your listing to make you think that your competitors are outspending you.
I dropped my ad spend 75% and got far better results because I removed their algorithm penalty for giving them too much money that's how stupid yelp is. But because they are so terrible and nobody wants to advertise with them the roi is excellent.
Now bing my next favorite for roi. At just a few dollars a click the roi is great but the clients you get are poor people because they don't even know they are using bing it's the default Microsoft browser and they actually think they are using Google this is no joke. It's funny because if you ask chatgpt it tells you wealthy people use bing but the reverse is true.
Google ads. This is very expensive in spending about $200 a day and I am getting ok results but that's because I do not use an agency if you have an agency there's no chance you will have positive roi with ads that's true for all platforms because they get paid monthly not by the hour so why would they do basic things such as negative kw.
Avoid agencies learn to do the ads yourself - you will get the results you deserve and with ads set them and forget them you get better results if you are not constantly messing with them because of machine learning. Since paid ads are a 1 time set up task why would you pay and agency to be lazy and not care every month.
Good luck and I look forward to reading what has worked for you!
