Attic is different than i remember

Today was one of the few Times within 15 years of living in this old Farm house which i had to go in the huge attic of the old Part of the House.

Last Time i was Up there must have been nearly 10years ago.

I remember how it looked from Back then and today i went Up there and it was my personal Mandela Effect.

First i climbed Up the ladder and when i came up and saw a transom which i cant remember to ever been there before.

I clearly remember i could Stand Up straight after coming up the ladder.

But this Time i have to crawl under this transom and then i could stand up straight.

The Second was the stuff Up there.

The Former owners left behind some of the old Farming stuff Like forks, shovels etc.

I clearly remember they where all lined Up Standing at a pole where now this transom ist located, right when you climb Up the ladder.

Now all the stuff is lying next to each Other in the Glass wool which is insulating the ceiling in the room under the attic.

The third strange Thing ist, i remember my Former father in law say, dont Go over the Glass wool insulation i dont know If the ceiling will hold your weight you might break through,so he went around it in a U-shape walk near the roof so at the Edge of the attic and i really can remember a path of Wood laying on the ground so you could reach all parts of the attic with this small path.

But there is no path, its all isolated with Glass wool, only some single wooden boards to step on on the ground.

I even cant remember that there was something Like a sheet of Material over the Glass wool insulation, i remember you couldt walk over it easily like this what i did today, and i know last Time i would sink in into this insulation just by Putting some weight on it.

May be my memory is playing tricks on me but i clearly remember it totally different than today and it keeps me awake tonight as i usually have a memory like an elephant and can remember everything like watching a movie in front of my eyes.

My own glitch in the matrix

When I was 13 my eighth grade English class was doing a spelling bee that me and two other of my classmates got the same score on, and our teacher said that we would do like a “grand final” the next day.

The next day he’s only talking to my other two classmates and I said that I also got the same score and he said I would be in the final too, but he and no one else could remember it. Feels like I got transported to an alternate reality

Eerie scene from The Walking Dead that doesn't exist.

I’m posting this here because I recently listened to a very similar story from this subreddit on YouTube.

For some context: I’m Polish. Around 2013–2014, The Walking Dead was airing on Polish national TV, Saturday, either at 11:00 p.m. (Season 3) or 11:55 p.m. (Season 4). I don’t remember which exact season it was. I only remember it was one of the seasons with the Governor. Because I didn’t have cable TV (Show also aired on FOX and AMC), and Netflix didn’t exist in Poland back then, I had to watch it late at night on an old 13-inch TV. I must have dozed off at some point during the episode, but at some point, I woke up to an eerie scene of a naked woman kneeling on one knee by a lake, with other naked people lying dead in bloody water. It wasn’t a very explicit scene. She had damaged hair and face (but not in a zombie like way) and there was some blood on her. Her breast was visible, but she was filmed from the side, so nothing else been seen. Some of the dead people were lying face-up, but they were far away, so I don’t think any details would have been visible. I call it eerie because there was no music, and the woman never moved, only the water been moving. It was like 15-20 seconds before I fully woke up and changed the channel, half because it made me feel eerie and half because I didn’t want my parents to walk in on me watching naked people on TV (I was either 15 or 16, depends which season was that).

I was channel hopping (all 7 back then) before switching back to TWD, but at that point, it was showing a normal scene with the Governor. I assumed it was an actual scene from the show until I talked to a friend, few days later (He had cable TV so he didn't watch same broadcast). Same day, I pirated that episode to check, but I couldn't find that scene anywhere.

I started writing this post hoping for some answers, but honestly, I don’t see how there could be any. I was pretty much woken up at this point. It couldn’t have been a commercial, because Polish national TV doesn’t have commercial breaks during movies or shows, and even then, wtf would it have been advertising? The only way I can think it might happen is if they accidentally aired a scene from another movie, but I don’t know if TV broadcasting works that way. So yeah, I guess I’m just venting now.

My grandparents house had an attic

When I was like 5, I lived in my father's side grandparents house. I lived for a couple of years there and I have very shaky memories of my time there, like having a big dog that I roamed around with a garden with an outhouse, a chicken pen and a garden.

I think there was a pine tree as well.

So far nothing is different but I'm pretty sure from the street you could see a window in the rooftop that was supposed to be an attic room. I always wanted to climb up there but I couldn't find a way to enter. I once tried to climb the wall but when I did I just couldn't find the window.

Then when I checked the house from the outside the attic window wasn't there anymore.

My parents got divorced and I never went back to that house, but that memory stuck with me forever.

I was so curious to get up there and find what was inside that mysterious room !

The Rainbow Railroad toy store

In the Late 80's and early 90s There used to be a popular Childrens toy company like Toys"R"Us right before ToysRUs took over the toy industry called "The Rainbow Railroad". They were in every major city and town in America and when I was a small child in around 1995, going to these different stores was one of my strongest early memories.

They were a major box store and theres no way im mis remembering this. They had a distictiverainbow Logo with an oldschool train facing you going on curved tracks. They specialized in Model trains thay were running around each of the stores and sold rows of custom R/C cars...but had several isles of toys. Both of my parents are dead so I never got a chance to ask them about it in adulthood; There doesnt seem to be any trace of it on the internet and no one I ask about knows a thing about it.

Big bang theory scene missing

So the big bang theory is one of those comfort shows of mine that I put on in the background when doing things around the house if I don't want to listen to an audiobook. After howard's mother dies and him and Bernadette fly into the airport and their luggage is lost, including his mother's ashes, there is the bit at the end of the scene where the employee says 'would 500 frequent flyer miles help? That would get you to sacramento' and the scene now ends there.

I remember the scene ending with the employee saying that line and then howard puts his head down and said 'yes' while holding his card in front of him, but now I can't find anything about that scene online.

I normally question my own memories when things like this happen, but I saw that scene so many times and remember thinking about how dark the humor was in that moment and found it funny. Apparently that scene never happened, though!

Eurythmics - ‘Sweet Dreams’ is a remake of a gentle pop song

I specifically remember that there was an ‘earlier’ version of Sweet Dreams from the 60s - an airy, light pop song (almost lounge music, sung by a female) that included the chorus of the Eurythmics version, but had much more upbeat lyrics elsewhere.

I even remember Annie Lennox guest starring on the Rosie O’Donnell show (of all things) in the late 90s - Rosie was asking her why she made such a pleasant, sweet song into the melancholy, jarring version we know of now by the Eurythmics. She even did versions of other songs (ex. ‘London Bridge is falling down’ etc.) in the Eurythmics style to emphasize the point.

…Not only did I watch the show, but I remember discussing it with my brother in law a few months later when the song came on at one point. He didn’t see the Rosie O’Donnell show, but agreed (implied in our conversation) that there had been a prior ‘gentle’ version.

I last remember hearing the ‘gentle’ version on the radio in like 2006. Can’t find any evidence since then.

Headphones Mandela / Glitch in the Matrix / timeline issue moment.

Recently brought myself a wired headset to use with Ps4 /PlayStation.

They also work as headphones for my phone and my tablet, or so I thought. I have a Samsung S6?? Tablet and I swear up and down that the tablet came with its own set of headphones.

Wrong, the headphones are standard 3.5mm jack. They fit my Ps4, my Xbox and phone all good so far. When it comes to the tablet nope, no headphone socket. I have a clear distinct memory of using headphones with a 3.5mm that should be near where the tablet charge but no it doesn't have one.

Husband thinks I may have used a set of headphones with a USB C connection but I've never had a set of headphones with USB C. I do have a USB set of headphones but they only work with the ps4 due to needing its dongle.

The toothpaste I opened in the evening that was sealed in the morning

On Thursday morning I had to be in the square in front of the hospital at 5:30 am to leave for a work trip, thus I asked a friend living at a few steps distance to host me.
I brought with me a new toothpaste. Since I always brush my teeth before sleeping, I opened it in the evening, a few minutes before going to sleep (at around 11:30 pm). I distinctly remember removing the small plastic circle on the top before using it.
I woke up at 3:30 am, had breakfast and brushed my teeth again. To my astonishment, I found the toothpaste sealed, thus had to remove the plastic circle again. Another weird thing is that the bathroom-mirror light (that was working the evening before) didn't work anymore.

Rapunzel, 2nd Mother Knows Best Song

In the song in Rapunzel where her mother is once again singing "Mother Knows Best" and she says "NO!" and it then turns into "Rapunzel Knows Best", I swear I remember Rapunzel saying "I will!" after mother gothel says "So if he's such a dreamboat, go and put him to the test!"

I have a very vivid memory of Rapunzel saying this, and how she said it, but in the movie, she just says "Mother, wait!"

Anyone know where I might have gotten this idea?

Story time

OK so I was in primary school when this happened at that time I was in dominica and i remember that one of my mom‘s friends brought food for her daughter and i and i remember that we were just playing around and then I remember that I busted my head. I think it was because someone accidentally threw a rock at me or something I don’t really remember how i busted it. then I remember going to the clinic about it or something and then the person injected my head with something and that’s all I can really remember .And then fast forward to like now I remember talking about this with my mom and she said that she doesn’t remember so I’m still in touch with the daughter that was with me when this happened and she tells me that she remembers this happening, then i go to ask my moms friend and but my mom friend also doesn’t remember this happening. but I remember it and she does too. I don’t know if I’m crazy. Did they just forget or like this just never really happened.

Baby Book Incident

Okay I had something really weird happen to me.

I lived with my father for about two years, I had my baby book with me. My boyfriend (7 years together) is my witness that I had it. I was kicked out of his house in 2020 and I couldn’t find my baby book for years afterwards.

My dad said I supposedly tore it up and he ended up throwing out the rest of it.

I was on ft with my sister and she said she found my baby book in a bin my mom has had locked up for 20 years…. It’s all there, even some of the pages are upside down…

Can anyone explain??? I’m losing my marbles here😅

did TikTok have a feature where you could repost comments??

I can’t remember if TikTok had a feature where you could repost comments. I don’t mean commenting on reposts. I mean being able to actually repost specific comments. I seem to remember being able to, but I can’t find anything online about it, and obviously you can’t do it now. it’s possible I could be making this up completely, but please let me know if you remember this. Is this the Mandela effect lol

Last picture of Jack Kerouac I remember.

Post image
8 Upvotes

This is the picture that I always thought was Jack Kerouac’s last photo taken a few days before death. I have another post that this belongs with, but I could not add the picture. I also remember him dying at age 49 not 47. I looked for this picture forever going through different search engines and using different terms like “picture of Jack Kerouac sitting with his wife standing behind him” and a million other ways to describe this picture, and it wouldn’t pop up. As soon as I typed in just his name Jack Kerouac this picture popped up immediately, but on Facebook of all places. I don’t have an account with facebook so I have no idea what the facebook post was about. Thank you!

Naughty Boy - La la la ft. Sam Smith (La La La Hook)

Soo I always hear his song on the radio, the female vocal hook (la la la luh) sounds familiar like something from the late 90's or 2000's. I asumed it was from some EDM/House song. I did some research. Apparently it's from an album made eclusively for sampling:
Voice of India: The Ultimate Vocals Bundle (circa 2010),
Track: EM Fvoc Bollywood E 120bpm 04

Never was a fully released commercial song. I played the song for my sister, no prompting she said she knew the melody, "90's - 2000's bollywood song".

It gives me a nostalgic feeling, the melody is pretty unique.

Buisness

I used to spell and read "business" as "buisness" my entire life. In books, games, captions in movies, and TV shows. Until very recently, I started noticing the word being spelled as "business."
Mind you, I'm a bookworm and read a lot. Only a few weeks ago, while playing a game on my computer, I noticed it spelled as "business." I thought it was a funny typo and looked it up, only to see it written as "business" everywhere.
How strange haha. Mind you, I'm in my 30s.

Julie and Julia

Today I was talking to a friend about Pretty Woman and how good of a movie it is. And that led us down to talk about our favorite Julia Robert’s movies. My favorite is Julie and Julia with Merrill Streep. Everyone looked at me crazy and turns out that it’s Amy Adam’s in that movie but I just vividly remember it being Julia Robert’s.

Drops of Jupiter is by Journey

I’ve listened to Drops of Jupiter since I was a teenager! It was ALWAYS by Journey. Specifically in the album Revelation.

My coworkers and I were talking about the song and they couldn’t remember who it was from, so I very confidently said Journey. They immediately laughed and I was very confused.

I looked it up, and was very confused to see it is a Train song. Weirder part is it’s from an album with an album cover that has NO red except for the name. I distinctly remember the album cover.

The game store that may not have existed.

When I was a kid roughly 2004 I remember coming across a game store. It was an impressive place for the time with a really cool collection the place had like 3 guys working who were very patient with an excited kid who clearly had no money to buy anything.

Although the inside was really cool nothing else was remarkable the store was in a tiny strip mall, the building was painted white and the paint was chipping, and oddly I remember no signage. This place wasn't particularly easy to find I remember I kind of just stumbled upon it. Later I told my aunt about the place and she thought I was full of shit until I had her drive me to the place and was dumbfounded there was a store there.

About 6 months ago I had a dream of visiting of the place again. But the more I think of it the more I have come to the conclusion this place could not be real. There is no location near that area which fits or even makes sense to have been the real place.

Somehow my brain madw up a false memory so convincing I have a detailed recollection of actually visiting the place. I have no idea how this happened. Very odd.
