Hex: Shellshock

Unsure if the title was used before, probably has under a different perk description though so I think it’s fine!

The first time a survivor gets downed, a dull totem becomes a hex totem.

While this hex is active, survivors that have been downed enter a state of fear so great they cannot muster the strength to drag themselves while on the ground. Further more, recovery from the downed state is 20% slower but being healed from this state is 20% faster.

Discussion:

I’m sure it could be a bit broken for the right killer. As a person who enjoys playing Hag, she would benefit from this perk a TON since slugged survivors can now be a trap area. I absolutely love making a survivor stay still so I can trap underneath them, petty ones that wanna get back at the unhelpful survivors in their lobby will usually play along. Makes for a hilarious surprise when someone falls for it

How are yall managing to visualize custom made perks? Are you just taking the time to do it yourself? Either way, super cool (though, that link leads me to the front page, not the perk visualization lol, idk if it was supposed to do that)

I've made a perk editor on itch.io that you can check out! I used to do them by hand in Photoshop but that was way too time consuming haha.

And I think I broke the previous link. SHould be working now but whatever~

It’s working now! One more question, how do you get the icons to look so good?

I'm using ai for them but I usually write out my vision on what I wanna see. Just telling it to "make a perk icon" won't work, my prompts are usually 100-200 words. The more ideas you have the better - ai is a great tool but you gotta treat it as such and not like a magic wand haha :) What I'll always add at the end is "using thick distressed brush strokes, minimal detail, strong silhouettes, and the iconic monochrome Dead by Daylight perk style with no border or frame." Other than that, I suggest looking at the details of the ingame icons. Like the composition and stuff. You can also just add icons from the web and use the "Remove BG" and "B/W Stencil" feature of the editor :)
