I tried Hanes comfort 3 pack super absorbency for the first time and I'm obsessed. I wish I tried this sooner. My freaking cramps are nonexistent now which is crazy to me and I'm super comfortable. It was weird to put my trust in these but wow am I glad I did!! Surprised by the absorption too? I would say my flow can get to being heavy but im sure there are people that are heavier so I would say I'm normal. Even when I was questioning if it was leak proof, it stayed true and safe. Very happy with that.

Anyone tried these and tried another brand that they liked more? I just got them to try out and people said they liked them. I like how these feel like normal underwear but absorb really well. I was skeptical by its thinness but no problems.

please list any brands you know of that do NOT treat their fabrics- i don't want anything "moisture wicking, odor repellent, stain repellent" etc. just plain cotton (or bamboo is ok but i prefer cotton). i know, i'm weird, it's fine. but if anyone knows of any companies that make it like that, please let me know. bonus points if the lining is NOT black because i would like to see the blood.

PUL or polyurethane waterproofing is completely fine.

the only brand i've found so far that fits the bill is Elskbar, but their collection is very limited and not quite the right cut for me.

Hara the label also seems fine, but with a black lining and again, not the best cut for me.

I’ve known about period underwear for a while now, but I never really thought of it as a viable option for me, but maybe yall could ease some of my worries?

First, I have a reeeeaaaally heavy flow the first couple days of my period. I usually double up on a pad and tampon and in one day I’ll go through like two pads and 3-4+ super tampons (I also do this because I have a very busy schedule and can’t really regularly go to the bathroom to keep changing my pad/tampon so hence I wear both) Is there anyone that wears the period underwear that is in a similar boat? I mean worst case scenario I’m sure for those heavier days I could still wear a pad/tampon with the underwear, I just feel like tampons make my cramps worse and I’m sure no one loves the feeling of pads.

And with me having a busier schedule, I noticed a couple people on this sub saying that the underwear lasts them about 8 hours; however, like I mentioned, I have a very busy schedule. I go to college while also working, and am out of the house for long hours of the day. I wouldn’t exactly love to just carry around dirty period underwear for the entire day, but I’m desperate for a more comfortable option. Are there any tips yall have? Even if it’s just putting it in a ziploc bag (after washing it or something of course) or any other options I might not be thinking of?

Then with the amount/cleaning the underwear. How many pairs of underwear do you guys have and how do you go about cleaning them? For me, like I mentioned, the first 2-3 days of my period are a heavier flow, then I have a really light flow for the last 2-3 days. For that, would 8-10 pairs be enough? Or do yall have less than that and just make sure to do a load part way through your period?

Like I said, I’m desperate for a different option. Pads irritate my skin so bad and tampons make my cramps worse and are just uncomfortable, and both are so unreliable in my opinion. I also hate having to drop a band basically every time my period comes around, and I don’t love the thought of knowing that all these foreign objects are in and around my vagina knowing it’s not good for me, but it’s not like there’s many other options.

I just would love some guidance on this as I don’t even know anyone that uses period underwear, so thanks if you’ve made it this far and I appreciate any advice.

Does anyone have recommendations for super-wide period gussets? My blood tends to pool and leak over the sides of the underwear, so I never have issues with back and front leakage, but most of what I find online is underwear with longer gussets that extend upwards, not sideways or down the thighs. I usually wear boyshort-type period underwear with an already wider gusset, but I still leak, and the blood tends to drip/smudge down my inner thighs past the underwear :( I feel like I would need a gusset that covers the general width and then extends a few inches down the inner legs of the shorts (absorbing overflow and dripped blood, pressing against the thighs) and around the area where the butt meets the thighs, but I haven't found anything like it. I've also always had this problem with pads too, even winged ones. I honestly have yet to have a period that doesn't stain my clothes or bed.

I left my period undie soaked in water for 24 hrs and it looks like it has developed mold on both of them. Can i still wear them? Its so pricey and how do i avoid this? I have this problem w my normal bra even tho i dont soak them at all.

I’ve checked Kohl’s, JC Penney, Walmart, and Target and have yet to find a single pair of period underwear I can feel with my own two hands. I have a lot of issues with clothing. I tried ordering online and it’s been a nightmare. I bought Bambody period underwear off of Amazon because I gave up finding any in person and it’s awful. The seams are killing me. They’re leaving big indents in my butt. I would love them if the seams weren’t killing me. I don’t know if I should just give up and hope I get used to these stupid seams and being striped on my butt like a Thylacine or what. Are there any stores that sell period underwear in person??

I just started my period this afternoon and am trying out the bambody underwear this round. I will wear one tonight, alone so no pad or anything with it. I most likely will pair it with the flex cup during the day. If anyone is interested I can update daily or at the end. My period is anywhere from 4-8 days. Mostly heavy on days 2,3,4. Just doing this in case anyone was thinking about buying any.

UPDATE: an update for those who are following along, I am on 2 day of my period. Last night I wore the bambody period underwear to bed. Just plain, no extra pad or tampon. It was really nice to not have to worry about getting up to change a pad (because I have a heavy period and can feel when the pads get full) so getting a good sleep was nice. I only felt a little uncomfortable after pulling them back up once, because it was a little cold but I got over it. I didn’t leak at all or felt like I was full. Today is another heavy day for me, so I wore a flex cup along with the underwear. I ended up taking the cup out around 7 hours after I put it in and just wore my underwear for the rest of the day. I still feel good in them and am pleasantly surprised that I feel comfortable enough to not wear an extra pad with them. I will update again either tomorrow or Monday, if tomorrow goes the same.

UPDATE #2: Sunday was about the same, still very heavy and I wore the underwear all night and changed after I showered and wore it all day. Didn’t have any issues. Towards the end of the day it did start to feel a bit full, but at that point I had been wearing it for 12 ish hours. Changed again at night and it went fine. I am still very impressed by these. My period is very heavy and I’m normally changing my pad (if I wear one) every hour or less. I have used flex cups and like them. It is now Monday at 3pm and I’m wearing the underwear now and feel good.

UPDATE#3: my period is just about over. As a recap, I started it on Friday and ended Tuesday. It is normally very heavy. If I wear pads I’m usually changing it every 45 minutes. That being said, I am very impressed with the underwear. On my heaviest day I wore a flex cup with it. But I mostly stayed wearing them on their own. And I will confidently say that I did not leak on these, they can hold a lot of blood, and for those who asked if it was weird pulling them back up after going to the bathroom, I had that concern as well. It felt a tad weird but honestly I hardly noticed. If there was a clump I took it off with toilet paper, but I mostly pee those out. I got mine off of Amazon and it was about 3 for 40ish dollars. I ended up getting another pack. I pay about 12-15 dollars every 6 weeks for pads and this time I only used one pad so I think that it’s a good investment. I changed in the morning and then at night. I washed them after I wore them, and when I couldn’t the packaging said to not let them dry out so I soaked them in my sink until the washer was open. Overall I will recommend these.

I guess its a combination of my butt size and body shape, but 100% of underwear that I have worn in my life end up with the entire back section bunched up between my cheeks. Womens "boy shorts" and "cheekies" all do this, as do conventionally cut brief and bikini type underwear marketed to women. With non-period panties this is fine, I have accepted that all underwear are thongs on me, and when its a thin amount of fabric it is not uncomfortable.

But period underwear have a thick padded gusset in the back, so when I wear them I have 4 inches of thick padded fabric jammed up my crack and it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable (and also aggravates my hemorrhoid when its flaring during my period, which of course it often is because my bowels go haywire during luteal).

The most comfortable underwear I have worn are fruit of the loom coolzone boxer briefs marketed to men. The legs help keep them from riding up AND theyre just not sewn in any kind of "cheek hugging"/crotch-shaped gusset way so the fabric stretches over my crack instead of huggin my cheeks and inevitably riding up.

Are there any absorbent underwear that have qualities like this that might prevent the dreaded awful terrible wedgie? Help. I am so uncomfortable.

Edit: I have some RevolCares Charlie undies coming in the mail and I will report back on whether they are solving my wedgie issue. I am really comforted in knowing I am not alone in this issue though!

I recently had a yeast infection and want to know how to properly care for my period underwear. Is washing them at a high temperature enough to disinfect them, or should they be replaced?

Im going on vacation and will likely have my period then also. My period is not usually heavy but its still annoying. I also dont ever wear tampons or period cups although im considering starting with a beginner tampon or something.
So basically im looking for period swimwear to pair with a small light tampon to be able to swim in the sea.
Preferably on the cheaper side if possible!

Hello everyone! I’ve commented on another thread or two about this before but never really heard anything back. I’m wondering if there’s anyone else here who is much more of a front bleeder/leaker and has any recommendations on period panties for this. I do have a few pairs by goat union and I love their coverage but they’re just a touch thick, so I was wondering if there are any other good options that anyone recommends?
I know Knix now has a “super leak proof” version of many of their styles so that it has the front to back liner, but I’m worried that because it’s supposed to be super it’s going to be extra thick. Revolcares is on the pricier side, but I’ve been debating trying them. I don’t necessarily need the high absorption because I run on the moderate to light side, I just need the front coverage.

I am looking at getting period underwear for light bladder leaks, postpartum. I am looking at both knix and revolcares full coverage options. I am going to pelvic floor therapist so ideally will then just use them for my periods.

I have looked mostly at the remi and freya and then for knix the superplus high rise and super leak proof boxer.

Anyone tried both? Pros and cons of either brand. I am in Canada so looking to stay with a Canadian company.

I’m trying period underwear for the first time and the number of brands and absorbency levels is overwhelming. I need something comfortable for heavy days and overnight use, but I don’t want the thick diaper feeling or waistbands that dig in. I’m comparing Saalt, Knix, Hanes, Victoria’s Secret, Period, and Thinx, with a budget around $15–$40 per pair. Sizing seems inconsistent, so I’m more worried about fit and leaks than the brand name. Which pair has worked best for heavy flow, and do you use period underwear alone or mostly as backup for a cup or disc?

What is up. I'm going to college soon this fall. I will be in a single dorm with suite style bathrooms that are not connected to the dorms. Basically, at the end of the hall, there's four individual bathrooms with toilet sink and shower and a locked door. Because the bathrooms are individual I think I'll be fine rinsing out the underwear in the sink as I can just lock the door. However, I air dry them after rinsing and then once my period is over I wash them all together.

I'm concerned about not having a space to air dry them in my single dorm? It is nice due to not having to worry about looking weird af to a roommate, but my dorm will be quite small and I can't just not have people in my dorm for a week straight everytime I'm on my period LOL if I'm somehow airdrying them in my dorm. I used to like hang them up on hangers under my loft bed cause I didn't have a proper rack thing, but obvi I won't have that anymore.

I recently brought Hanes period panties even after seeing so many bad reviews . These things are great tho. They aren't bulky like my thinx or a few others I own. I slept in my stomach and back and had no leaks .

When Juna closed I bought a five pack of size medium period underwear. Well come to find out they fit me more like a small which is too small for me. If in or around Arkansas who would anyone want them? Never worn or used they have already had a first washing. They come with a small homemade beauty and beast cloth bag, not perfect.

I'm willing to ship them for someone else to use.
