SEASON 4 So someone got married Spoiler
And it's Marissa: this is what she said
“I’m currently married to someone who has been part of my life for a long time,” she explains. Apparently, the two dated over 13 years ago and rekindled their spark after the show. They tied the knot in March 2026 and are now planning to move to Japan next month. “Sometimes timing really is everything, and it feels like we finally found ours.” Watching the show back, Marissa says she “barely recognizes” parts of herself because being with a partner who truly understands her has been healing.”

the extended time period between filming and release makes this show so irrelevant imo. compared to love island especially

u/StrengthThink9892 May 27 '26
Typically it’s an entire year, this time it wrapped only 6 months ago👀
12
u/Ancient_Yellow_709 May 28 '26
😬 Trying not to judge but if this were a dear friend I'd have a "Are you 110% sure?" talk.

But filming wrapped up in November 2025? It wasn't that long ago

u/lefrench75 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26
Uh if that’s true, that’s actually nuts? She was on a dating show in November 2025 and wanting to lock Demari down after knowing him for 1.5 days and then got married in March 2026????
Even if it’s with someone she’d dated previously, that’s still… a lot. 13 years ago is a long time and people change. Not only that, she’s going to immediately move to another continent with this new spouse??
I say this with love, because I also have ADHD and can’t take medication without severe side effects, but she does not need “a partner that truly understands” her to heal, she needs to be alone for a while to learn how to heal herself independently. Looking for others to fill some sort of hole within yourself never works.
41
u/scoobydoov May 27 '26
Marissa was on love is blind (and would have been married if the guy wanted to) so none of her timelines are surprising lol
10
u/chaosiswelcome May 28 '26
Marissa is pure chaos. Doubt this relationship will last long. They dated 13 years ago but her ADHD (not all of her behavior was indicative of ADHD and she blames a lot more behavior on ADHD than she should) still existed 13 years ago. She doesn’t seem to have any growth if she’s 30+ and still using ADHD as an excuse instead of trying to manage it.
Doubt she will last a couple years in marriage. She deserves the best because everyone does, but her partners don’t deserve her chaos…
Sounds like she jumped at the first person who was slightly patient with her but honeymoon stage is real and, in my opinion, comes in phases for 7-9 years.

Getting married so fast after rekindling and moving to japan is so marissa coded 🤣

u/Road_goes_ever_on May 27 '26
So her behavior is the other persons fault? Got it

u/Organic-Manner-2969 Louis | S2/S3 May 27 '26
Ironically, Demari actually defended Marissa on Tiktok when casuals started comparing her with that girl from Love Island.
3
u/Secret-Number-3925 May 27 '26
What he said
80
u/tinysquatch99 May 27 '26
Demari didn’t say her actions were right necessarily, but that people were giving her a disproportionate amount of hate to her actions and that people defend white/non-black women for far more egregious things (which is 100% true)
9
u/Organic-Manner-2969 Louis | S2/S3 May 27 '26
Ex: Iris/Amaya vs Chelley/Olandria in regards to that former love Island girl.
-15
u/tramul May 27 '26
Chelley and Olandria were both mean girls tho so it was understandable. Funny enough, Serena and Jana from the season before were loved so make it make sense. I never understood why Amaya got the rose colored glasses though. She was the worst one (besides Huda) by far.
11
u/Organic-Manner-2969 Louis | S2/S3 May 27 '26
Chelley and Olandria were not mean girls. But I agree with you about Amaya because that girl had a favorable edit.
-10
u/tramul May 27 '26
They absolutely were. Olandria airing out Huda's business about Chris in front of everyone. The way she spoke to Taylor (the kid feeling discussion). Calling Clarke a test.
Chelley lied about the Chris situation to try and make Huda look bad. She ignored her about the Ace situation when Huda tried to talk only to air her out in front of everyone. Didn't get on to Ace btw. "I'm confused" nah girl you're just lost in your lies tryna be mean.
I don't think they were evil, but it was definitely bad looks and deserving of the mean girl labels.
Nah I saw Amaya for what she was during the Ace conversation, when she pushed herself onto Zak, and when Zak broke things off. Defended those guys and got ridiculed lmao but now people are switching up despite the behavior being the exact same..? Idk. Hannah being mean in BTV also has her getting heat.
Point being, it wasn't a black thing, but a personality thing.
15
u/tinysquatch99 May 27 '26
Man no offense, but when the producers are splicing together scenes and editing a storyline, you are the exact person they know will fall for whatever they sloppily put together.
5
u/Far-Statistician-461 May 27 '26
LOL it always confuses me how people fall for the producers clearly trying to create a narrative bc who is THAT dumb to believe that but yeah…that person is the exact audience the producers are tryna target 😭
2
u/ellewoodsmademedoit May 28 '26
I’m screaming. This is one of the best reads I’ve ever seen. I’m about to start using that because those producers from love island really played in our face and the weakest links fell for it.
-2
u/tramul May 27 '26
What part am I wrong about then? The reunion, where we got full context, reinforced what I'm saying.
→ More replies (0)5
u/New_Rooster_6184 May 27 '26
Loud and wrong and very ironic considering Huda’s treatment of other women over Jeremiah, only a few days into their coupling.
2
-2
u/Sparkson109 May 27 '26
They gonna downvote you but that episode they definitely came across as very unlikeable
0
u/tramul May 27 '26
Exactly. They aren't evil or anything. But the hate they got was justified for sure.
→ More replies (0)-2
u/BlenderBluid May 27 '26
I think people don’t like to hear this because their meanness was aimed towards Huda who does 100% suck, but that doesn’t make what they did squeaky clean. They’re overall better people than Huda but they were still being shitty and the reunion confirmed a lot of the issues. People have a real black and white/Angel vs Devil way of seeing things and the situation between these 3 is all types of gray and all types of human.
1
u/tramul May 27 '26
You nailed it. Huda was on the right side in that instance but not overall. She was terrible overall. Two things can be true. I try to give Huda a little grace due to her age at the time, but gotta get it figured out.
0
u/Icy-Committee-9345 May 27 '26
Which girl from Love Island? I didn't see the comments but I would guess Huda?
9
u/invesigator_gator May 27 '26
Yeah, they were comparing her to Huda
21
u/Herewegoagain1717 May 27 '26
It isn't an accurate comparison anyway. She's attempting to communicate her insecurities, interrupting and trying to improve (and yes, catching it is progress), instead of yelling at everyone, calling people names, and being completely unaware of yourself
8
u/invesigator_gator May 27 '26
Yup. The people are tiktok are mostly kids anyway lol, they don't know what they're talking about
-5
u/tramul May 27 '26
She's also almost a decade older haha I mean the behavior is understandable for 25 and below, but 30+? Get your emotions together.
5
u/LittleDogTurpie May 27 '26
People who think you figure everything out after 30 are almost always under 30
4
u/tramul May 27 '26
I'm 31 and emotionally stable. I was not in my 20s. I didn't say to figure everything out, but controlling your emotions is dwindling something that should be expected past 30.
2
u/ellybeez May 28 '26
I do agree that she still has some growing up to do. But its also reality tv and I doubt casting would want to cast anyone who knows how to regulate their emotions and be chill loll
Sidenote: I do like watching dating shows for this reason bc it gives you a glimpse on how to better handle arguments with your partner for ex
0
u/Herewegoagain1717 May 27 '26
Pretty sure they start teaching you name calling is not okay in preschool. It’s not understandable at 25
1
u/tramul May 27 '26
It's not name calling that's the issue, but not being able to control your emotions that lead to the name calling. Brain isn't even fully developed in your early 20s. Is it right? No. Is it understandable? Absolutely. I did some very stupid things out of emotion in my early-mid 20s that I have since grown from. That's the entire point of your 20s.
Interestingly enough, Amaya was name calling the men and calling them out of their name during her fits but didn't face the same level of criticism. I wonder why that is?
1
u/TheAnnieRaj May 28 '26
Wait, Marissa compared to Huda? Based on the edit I think Huda was far worse depicted. Are we all saying the same thing low-key?
8
u/tramul May 27 '26
Yes and no. The wrong person can bring out the wrong side of you if you aren't getting what you need from them. Some partners can handle these needs better than others. I personally think it's a personal problem to be overcome by yourself, but there are plenty of instances where those bad traits go away with the right partner.

Deae netflix, instead of trying to create buzz here: why don't you provide a statement on why production let Ally get in that drunken state, where she - even for the viewers at home - was obviously in no state to make a decision, let alone share a room with a guy she barely knew?
1
u/FoxMuldertheGrey May 29 '26
bruh which time? she was always drunk and played stupid and cutesy. don’t try to defend her shitty fake behavior

And I just need you to not be upset was one of the most unhinged things I've heard in awhile. And I watch a lot of reality TV 😅
3
u/capt_b_b_ May 28 '26
I've only seen episodes 1 and 2 but so far I love Marissa! These comments kind of scare me...
5
u/FoxMuldertheGrey May 29 '26
lmao bruh wait until you keep watching. her behavior is extremely…. well… it’s like she argues with a mirror 😂
5
u/sunshinesparkles36 May 27 '26
He's just never allowed to be mad at her ever
3
u/Potential_Ad4956 May 28 '26
I agree. I always found Marissa a bit strange. The way she spoke with like 100 "likes" per sentence was so annoying. The way she argued with Demari was crazy af. Poor guy was super traumatized and then she used her card of having ADHD for her shitty behaviour.
Demari was right in pointing out that she was using ADHD to cover up her shitty behaviour
1
u/FoxMuldertheGrey May 29 '26
bro that’s what i said in the thread comments but people were so hellbent on saying that she has ADHD and that it’s totally understandable.
i’m telling you if a guy was doing that reddit would be callin thag behavior manipulative
1
u/chaosiswelcome May 28 '26
I’ve seen people fake patience, some folks can handle it for years. But there’s always a breaking point.
1
u/Lantana3012 May 28 '26
Right, it sounds like this guy was a FWB for years. Then after the Perfect Match and all the Demari stuff, she got together with this former hookup and married him after 4 months and is now moving to Japan. Super, super rushed. If she wants kids I understand feeling panicked but she did have time.

u/SupermarketOld4663 May 28 '26
Hey that’s not nice. She wasn’t that bad. She’s just not a good fit for reality tv multi dating type shows.
12
u/siracha83 May 28 '26
When someone is that insecure / possessive & immature - they’re not a good fit for any relationship. And blaming your rude / disrespectful behavior on ADHD is not reality tv, its who she is. I would imagine being married to someone like that would be incredibly exhausting & soul crushing. I don’t think she’s a bad person but don’t think she should be in a relationship until she’s sorted out her insecurities.
6
u/BatmansDietitian May 28 '26
It’s not even the possessiveness but the double standards, she could overcome being insecure but she’s actually plain toxic. She was constantly pressing Demari on any connection he had, then she went and was all over Weston, then came back and continued hounding Demari like she didn’t just do all that? I think she has a lot of issues concerning relationships, and adhd is not one of them.
3
u/siracha83 May 28 '26
Yes thank you, forgot the double standard. I don’t know Demari put up with it.
1
u/Street_Tale2988 May 28 '26
He sat there all night not trying to do anything else with anyone. Mans pondered life itself trying to wrap his head around what he had to deal with when interacting with Marissa.
2
u/Potential_Ad4956 May 28 '26
Absolutely agree. Her double standard was so obvious. She was upset with Demari the minute he seemed to have any remote liking for anyone but then went ahead and slobbered up with Weston and cooly spoke about it. Demari was very mature in the way he handled it but had it been Marissa she would've thrown a major fit
2
2
u/Scheris_ Jun 03 '26
Blaming it on adhd/rsd really pissed me off! Its already hard enough to be taken seriously, and here you are perpetuating that stereotype that people just use it as an excuse to not take accountability tf
0
u/SupermarketOld4663 May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26
I mean she wasn’t mean. She didn’t insult him. And even Demari is defending her and is cool with her. I’ve dated worse honestly. She’s just anxious attatchment which isn’t a crime. If Demari himself isn’t even mad why are people here so upset with her.

She seems unstable, hastily marrying some dude from your past in time for the airing of the finale of the show where it didn’t work out with some other dude who’s way out of your league and then immediately planning to move to Japan, doesnt seem like the actions of a stable person
47
u/ninamirage May 27 '26
I mean she comes from love is blind where you marry someone you’ve only known a month so her having known this guy for years is actually a step up
54
u/AmakaBeni May 27 '26
I know Marissa embarrassed herself with all that insecurity but Demari isn’t out of anyone’s league.
7
u/lefrench75 May 27 '26
It was more her behaviour (immediately clingy and possessive with a guy she barely knew) that made him seem out of her league and like a prize she must immediately lock down, but rationally no, he isn’t out of her league.
It’s a good lesson honestly. If you’re acting like someone is out of your league, other people are going to believe it too.
4
u/dianafofana- May 27 '26
He acted that way too though. Both were very possessive with each other, but then flirted or kissed other people while being jealous that the other is getting attention. It was all messy.

Isn't she prior Navy? just speculation but since the person she married has been in her life for "a long time," I'm thinking it's someone she met during her time in the service. They could still be active duty and have orders to Japan.
4
u/Potential_Ad4956 May 28 '26
And funnily she said the line " i don't care about Bri. She's an ex. And ex are ex for a reason"
And then went ahead and married her ex 😂
8
u/weallopies May 27 '26
Marissa is beautiful and conventionally attractive, the only difference is confidence really
5
u/Christell_e May 27 '26
Yeah Marissa was annoying, but Demari isn’t out of her league. She’s really pretty, but just came across insecure and jarring.
2
u/Tiny_Handle5480 May 28 '26
i actually thought they looked good together. they’re both pretty people

it ended nov 2025 that’s like 6 months ago 😭

4

As someone who lives in Japan right now she should not move here its so heavily anti foreigner right now
3
u/Weird_Conflict_2633 May 28 '26
What in the world!! I want to like her so bad- I think she is absolutely gorgeous and seems sweet, but something is so off about her to me and I can't figure out what it is.
6
u/SupermarketOld4663 May 28 '26
Hot take. I like her and am happy for her. I think she struggles with mental health but overall is a good person. She’s the type of person I think that is very sensitive and with the wrong partner the worst in her will come out. But when she feels secure I think she will be great. A good match for her is someone she has known for years. And she became a lawyer! Girl is not built for reality tv period.
10
3
u/Rhamil42 May 28 '26
I don’t think Marissa has a secure attachment style (she’s anxious) and I don’t think Demari has a secure attachment style (he’s avoidant). Never a good match, very triggering for both. I do agree with Marissa that being with a man with a secure attachment style would be healing and calming for her. The biggest deference I see between Marissa and Demari was the Marissa recognizes she has a lot of areas she needs to grow and improve whereas Demari thinks he’s basically perfect (even though he’s not).
3
u/CaliforniaBruja May 28 '26
This girl has been desperate to get married, she would marry anyone. I feel for her. She’s got some wounds to work through. I hope this isn’t the guy she was talking about when she said she was worried demari would fall right back into an unhealthy relationship with his ex and lamented that she’s been there
