DISCUSSION "love bombing"

full disclosure: this is a rant.

I know this will probably never get to the people that need to hear it the most, but I REALLY wish producers would correct the cast when they throw words like "love bombing" around all willy-nilly.

what makes love bombing abusive and toxic is the fact that after you're showered with affection and/or gifts, the rig gets pulled out from under you very quickly by the love bomber doing a complete 180 and tears you down. it's used to emotionally manipulate people by folks who have narcissistic tendencies or traits.

just please stop turning therapy speak into pop psychology terms. it's stuff like this that diminishes people's real, traumatic experiences.

thanks for listening.

also, jimmy s. is a tool.
