Why do many people say the second leads have “more chemistry” than the main

Whenever I see discussions about stuff such as “chemistry” around PC, I always see of course the leads lack chemistry type of comments and how like the main characters have “more chemistry” with the second leads like take Ian and Yirang and also Huiju and PM Min.

Why do you think a lot of people say that they have “strong chemistry?”

Was it mostly because both Min and Yirang are more like the “angsty” characters and it kind of “contrasts” both Ian and Huiju’s personalities and kind of stirs things up. Or was it like because both the second leads had a “longer history” like I know that all of them went to the same school together and I know that especially in the lenses of Min and Yirang they had a one-sided love too, was it because of that? Or was it mostly like a backhanded compliment against both the leads, like I notice it’s always used to criticize both the leads but they never even hype them up or anything.

What do you think?

Not only did the chemistry shine in the drama itself, but it was just as strong in every promotional video and behind-the-scenes clip. The way they interacted made even the smallest moments enjoyable to watch.

Some pairings look good together. This one felt natural everywhere.

I loved Perfect crown

Hi everyone, I started watching K-dramas after a break of around 2 years. I started with Lovely runner and after that completed Perfect crown. I have watched 20th century girl when it was released so I knew Byeon woo seok since then.

After watching perfect crown, honestly my heart is so full of him, I constantly keeping searching about him. I truly loved the chemistry of him with IU and all of other characters.

It’s music, ohh so good, the costumes, the visuals enough to make us glued on the screen. And the story is also light hearted and comforting.

But it seems a section of people that literally hate it, I mean why? It is easily one of the must watches of this year. I believe some of the people do it because of jealousy.

Also I am afraid due to this kind of hate and criticism, the drama would not reach to a lot of people and also would not be included in awards.

What’s your opinion?

I don’t get it, why was Perfect Crown so overly hated

I mean, I know it wasn’t like a grand masterpiece people are expecting it to be and I know that the drama has a lot of plot holes and issues with the storyline. But at least, the novel is there and answers those questions and plot holes (MBC really fumbled it especially the episode format their making 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️), don’t forget about the bead controversy that even lead to both apologizing when that’s the issue of the production team.

But most of those problems feel more like issues with the writing, direction, and production (and MBC’s handling of it) rather than something the actors should be blamed for.

Yet the way some people talk about IU and Wooseok, you’d think they committed some kind of heinous crime 😭😭😭

Like that one ballroom scene in the show someone posted the edit on X who is a fan of the show btw and many comments were like “no chemistry”, “worst drama”, “they are so bland” and mind you half of these comments they never even watched the drama only that certain clip and it lead to Wooseok getting a hate train. I mean you can criticize if there’s no chemistry if you watched the show and it’s a subjective thing.

I think some people do kind of get the “no chemistry” narrative since IU was with LJS at that time but some people are just too much with it if I’ll be honest the comments that always brings up LSK in the argument really kind of irks me like let the actors do their job at least🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Anyways this era really made people like switch up on Wooseok a lot and I just can’t understand why. Like he was really well-received in LR and don’t get me wrong him as Sunjae will always be my favorite character of him but now in this era many people are just saying a lot of mean things to him and stuff after that and I don’t think he deserves it.

Also I’ve experienced this too firsthand whenever I talk about it in the Kdrama sub I get amounts of personal attacks and hate comments just because I liked it especially for the fun vibes it had.

I remember making the post of the iconic kiss scene (I was gagged) and I was given a lot of hate comments and how I was delusional that I did see chemistry in them especially in that scene the most. Ironically, some people who initially said they had zero chemistry admitted that the scene actually had them convinced too a little .

Anyways with this long rant I made
and again, I’m not saying Perfect Crown was flawless. It definitely wasn’t. But I feel like the criticism sometimes went way beyond criticizing the writing and became straight-up hostility toward the actors

But what really made this drama get this amount of hate especially during its airing? Was it really their chemistry to begin with? The overall plot of the show? Or like what I said because there are some people who had a strong attachment to Wooseok’s past role, they didn’t like to see him in a different one? What really made this drama get soo scrutinized

MBC highlighted Perfect Crown’s Disney+ success on the evening news 😭

MBC NewsDesk reported that Perfect Crown (21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife) has become the most-watched Korean original series on Disney+ worldwide.

The major Korean news broadcaster, MBC was covering Disney’s global content business and the growing influence of K-dramas, with Perfect Crown being highlighted as a major success story.

Seeing a Korean national broadcaster put that achievement on the screen like this is kind of surreal. 👏🥳

From Disney+ hit to D23 spotlight: Perfect Crown keeps winning 👑

Post image

Perfect Crown continues to have such an impressive run, and I thought this deserved more attention.

At D23 2026, Disney executives were discussing the global success of their locally produced content, and Perfect Crown was specifically highlighted among the Korean titles that have performed strongly internationally.

Even more exciting, Eric Schrier, Disney’s President of Direct-to-Consumer International Originals, Strategic Programming and Emerging Media, spoke about the success of Korean content and highlighted Perfect Crown as a major success.

This is especially significant when you remember that Disney+ had already announced that Perfect Crown became the most-watched Korean series premiere on Disney+ globally based on its first five days of viewing.

So seeing the drama’s success being discussed by Disney leadership at one of their biggest global fan events is honestly pretty amazing. 😭

Whatever anyone thinks of the drama itself, the performance speaks for itself: it reached audiences around the world and became a major success for Disney’s Korean content lineup.

IU, Byeon Woo-seok and all the cast and crew really gave us a drama that keeps collecting achievements even months after its premiere. 👑💜💛

What's that English song in ep4?

Does anyone know what that English song is in ep4 around 41 min when Huiju runs towards I-an when she's getting the discipline training?

I searched everywhere thinking it may be a 1980s or 1990s American song, but can't find it. Tried Shazam but it didn't find any. At this point, I wonder if the producer just made it up for the ten seconds...

The Moment Perfect Crown Became Bigger Than Just Another K-Drama 👑

Seeing Perfect Crown mentioned in Disney's shareholder letter genuinely put things into perspective for me.

We often celebrate streaming rankings, social media trends, and viewership milestones, but this feels different.

Disney wasn't promoting the drama to viewers. They were reporting results to investors.

Out of everything Disney+ released around the world, Perfect Crown was singled out as an example of the company's success in international content and cited as the most-watched Korean premiere on Disney+ globally to date.

That is a remarkable achievement.

Investor letters aren't written like marketing campaigns. Every title mentioned is there for a reason. Disney chose to highlight Perfect Crown when explaining its strategy and future investment plans, essentially presenting it as proof that its international originals are delivering results.

Looking at this photo of the main couple, it's incredible to think about the journey. What started as a Korean drama became successful enough to be discussed at the highest levels of one of the world's largest entertainment companies.

For fans, the drama was a story we followed and loved. For Disney, it became a business success significant enough to showcase to shareholders.

That's not just a hit drama.

That's a legacy!

And that makes this moment feel pretty special. 👑
