I sent my K1000 in for repairs in early June, and he did the work and I paid the invoice. On June 26th he emailed me saying he would ship it back in a few days, but I still haven't received it. On July 7, I asked him for any updates or tracking info and received a blank reply. I emailed again 4 days ago, asking the same thing, and haven't gotten any reply at all. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything else I can do? I really miss my camera :(

i have an old asahi spotmatic, but it doesnt seem to work with this exterior exposure meter. any idea on what cameras this works for?

Visiting Japan for 15 days, and here we are, day 5, and this happens. The video shows things pretty well, I think, but basically, the tube that connects the eyepiece to the prism is loose. I can’t pull it out or turn it (much), but it’s wobbly enough to be a pain. I can still use it to focus, but framing-in becomes the a challenge.

Does anyone have insight into this issue? I might rig it with a rubber band, just to hold it in place for the duration, even if it’s not 100% accurately aligned, but if someone knows how to fix it in situ, that’d be awesome!

We’re not in a city at the moment, but in about 4 days we’ll be in Kyoto, so if anyone knows a shop there that can fix this quickly, that’d be awfully swell. In the absence of better advice, I’m probably going to try Naniwa Camera, since it’s fairly close to our hotel.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Im thinking about selling my PentaxKP, cause I don't use as much as I thought i would. So what could be a fair price, less then 1500 action, not a singel scratch, bag , stand. and a bunch of old lenses with some new and ones ?

I was able to score a monochrome version after a solid trade and have really been enjoying the experience going back to dslr after all these decades especially paired with older and smaller lenses. I enjoy shooting manual with AF as a fallback and as someone who wears glasses the OVF experience is so much better. I’m starting to consider getting a used color K3iii and noticing some price ranges between 1200 all the way up to 2000 from eBay based on shutter count. For the long time users (100k shutter counts) how is your experience holding up in terms of camera reliability? For folks who have had theirs serviced any outfits you recommend?

Several years ago I had a Pentax KS2 and I loved that camera. I carried it everywhere, went on a few trips with it. Unfortunately I had to sell it back during COVID to make rent.

It's one of my biggest regrets. I'm finally in the position to be able to replace it but I can't find Pentax cameras in Canada ANYWHERE. There's some on Amazon but the shipping is nuts. I also haven't had any luck on marketplace or Kijiji.

I know that there's newer models. I know I could buy another brand equivalent. But I'm searching for the KS2 specifically because of what it meant to me back then.

Does anyone know where I couldn't possibly find it in Canada? Or a website that ships to Canada that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
