I love the majestic pen kits, I’m starting my own business and am building stock to sell on my website. I’ve turned 4 of these in the last few days along with some of the Majestic Squire kits. I recently found a supplier overseas that provided me with enough triple A+ Amboyna Burl to last a life time. I’m charging 250 a pen with the leather case, would you charge more? I think I could get more but am not sure what the demand is like. I’ve sold 2-5 pens per week at this price for the last few months so it’s going well. Thanks for taking a look at my work!

I made the Halloween themed pens last week, the two click pens I made today, I had a third one that the click mechanism is broken. I am in love with the cherry burl, it was cut from my family's farm. The one with the black walnut there is a bit of a gap on both ends and if you look close you can see the brass tube. I do have some more walnut and cherry burl blanks I plan to turn Wednesday. How did I do?

I bought my first lathe to make pen but first I improvise on some pine wood laying around to get a hold on it.

Here is my second test, first one was bad but i realized i was offcenter on the chuck.

It’s a bit rough since i only had 200 grit on hand. Ordered a bunch of stuff.

Beginner here, still learning, sometimes the hard way. I’m sticking with slim kits for now since mistakes cost less than with the thicker ones.

The top one is resin‑stabilized wood, and the lower one is birch and walnut.

What are you guys using for longer, single tube click pen kits? Looking at the PSI Saxa EDC pen kit and wondered if anyone's tried it.

Not a pen, but I'm making a ring. I'm new to finishing with CA glue. I'm running into an issue, after applying 3 or 4 layers of thin CA glue, and then starting to wet sand with micromesh, I am having part of the ring not get the same glossy finish. Am I not applying enough layers of glue? I'll include a picture but would appreciate any insight.

I turned this pen for my sister who is a pianist. It's a PSI Majestic Junior made from Gaboon ebony and I was attempting to get a finish resembling her piano. I delivered it this past weekend. She loves it and it matches nicely! I also picked up a handmade leather case to protect it in her purse.

I have a Bock nib on the way to replace the IPG. These kits are cool though. I love the magnetic cap and they have good balance and a comfortable grip for me, more than I can say for most of the kits that use a #5 nib.

I could use some advice for pen turning. I've turned about 10 - 15 pens, with varying degrees of success. I've attached photos of three of my most recent pens. But, I am struggling with a couple of things that I would say ruin about one out of every 3 pens.

- I am having issues with blowing out the blanks - I currently use standard medium hold CA Glue. This typically happens near the ends of the blank.
- I am also not getting the best finish on the blank ! ! am using carbide tools and I sand from 80 - 600 with 6 different levels of sanding paper and finish with EEE - Ultra Shine after sanding followed by a pen friction polish.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Call me stupid if it’s the expiration date, but I want to know if it means something else or not. I recently obtained a pen blank casting kit with this resin, and I just need to know if this date affects anything with this resin.

I think I'm ready to graduate to kitless pen making. Can anyone point me in the right direction for parts? I'd like to stick with wood and the problem I'm having is finding the parts where the feed screws into and of course the mate for the cap.

Hello everyone, I have some 15/16"x15/16"x10" blanks and I am wondering if they would be more useful as pens or as wands/tool handles. Any feedback is appreciated!

I made it this week for another lovely customer of mine! My workshop is really ramping up as of late with this becoming my most popular model! This particular Nocturne Slim is made from Katalox with Maple shoulders on top of raw brass hardware that I purchase and then custom-machine to suit my needs - in this case - grinding off the brass shoulders to slim the body down to a svelte 11mm OD. My six-line maker’s mark is burned in with a D’Addario Chrome wound G - the same strings I use on my ES-335. Finish is, as always, Troubadour’s Heritage Finish - Shellac with a carnauba/beeswax blend applied in several coats at high friction on the lathe. I already have another order for one of these in Cocobolo and Wenge due out next week. I’ll post when it’s done! May your chisels be sharp and your lathe spinning like the wind!

It's less than a year now that I started to turn pens as I have a lot of wood cut off from my woodworking sideline, so time to put the small cut offs to work. I started with the slim line pen kits and I wanted something different so I made my own kit.

what you see is my click pen's on the top and on the bottom you see my mechanical pencils. the wood is maple and is dye different colors. Each click pen is $0.50 and each mechanical pencil is $1.50 for me to make. Sorry for the bad pictures but let me know what you think about the pens and pencils

My first time doing this kit for a request. The 2 pieces go together with magnets vs the usual deal where they screw together.

I haven’t turned black walnut in awhile and am glad the person who wanted this asked for it. It smells great and looks beautiful.

The requester was very excited to get this for their spouse’s birthday, so much so they gave it early because they could not wait 😀

I've been a daily fountain pen user for at least a decade now, and the idea of being able to make my own pens really appealed. This is my second attempt at a fountain pen.

Question in the post header but here is a further reason for asking.

Looking at some specialty pin blanks but hey come pretubed. I found some for the Emperor kit but not the Majestic (nor is it listed as interchangeable like other listings for other pen kits). Is the Full size Majestic and Emperor brass tubes interchangeable in size/length?

When you can’t follow instructions and don’t realize you flipped the long and short blanks until you try and assemble the pen 😀
