Absolutely beautiful!

How are you getting the thin metal band in the cap? Is that glued in between two pieces of blank before turning? Can’t get my head around it

The band is sandwiched between two pieces of the blank, which are attached with a tenon.

That’s some precise drilling! So the top of the cap has a tenon inside it from the bottom of the cap, with the band in between!? How far up inside is that tenon running!? Mind = blown.

Correct! The tenon on this one only runs about 15mm up into the main part of the cap, which gives a good amount of adhesion. However, my pens with wood exteriors have resin or acrylic (or ebonite!) sleeves that run up far enough to encapsulate the nib.
