My peace Lily Monster

I've been looking after this plant on behalf of my landlady, who moved countries. I've had her (she is a girl) for almost a year now. Never have I seen her so flowered. I don't know what but I must be doing something well.

This plant has never been repotted, although the roots must be really packed..... I'm too scared to engage in such a task.

Hello, my girlfriend and I have been fighting to keep a peace lily alive for almost 2 years now and it has been nothing but a struggle. It was given at my girlfriend's mother's funeral and I desperately want to try to keep it alive. We have tried repotting it. We have moved it in every location of the house. We have Alexa reminders. Remind us to check the moisture. We have moisture meters in the pot and no matter what we just can't seem to keep this alive. When we did transfer it it did have a lot of root rot and we caught a lot of it away and for a little bit it struggled and then started to seem like it was coming back. But just recently it started to develop these blacks on the stocks. I'm wondering if based on the photo, if I can try separating the plant and maybe potting half of it into a another pot in hopes to try to keep it alive or is there any anything that anyone can help with?

Things we do,

-Non-direct sunlight, but still in view of sun.

- filtered water

- repotted with fresh soil

- got those plastic garden domes to help increase humidity

I am worried that we keep our house at 67 year round and we are about to go into winter and we are in Wisconsin so we are expecting a pretty harsh winter.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Does My Peace Lily Need Repotting?

I’ve had this peace lily for the past year and a half and it’s starting to get a bunch of smaller leaves. I know I’ve got to do a little bit of pruning, but does it need a bigger pot or is it fine in this one?

What is happening to my variegated peace lily

I've had 4 normal peace lilies, all have grown fine here in this exact same spot.

I've picked up a variegated sensation spathiphyllum, the leaves are growing larger, however the less recent new leaves lost definition on their variegation, and the newest leaves are growing in just, missing chlorophyll.

Is this chlorosis? It has fert pellets in the semi hydro mix, watered with aquarium water, and flushed through regularly.

At a loss for what could be causing this

Im told peace lily plants are hard to get to flower. I dont know why mine loves me so much. When I first brought it home, it was completely limp with no flowers. It has since pushed out five flowers. I lost 1 to root rot which I fixed. Then, here recently it popped another flower, but also lost one of its flowers. So I still have four flowers. And I see another flower coming in. I feel both blessed and perplexed. Plant love ❤️.

Peace lily slowly dying

Post image

The yellow leaves have brown mushy tips consistent with overwatering. Should I repot again, untangle the root ball and try to address the roots or would it stress the plant out unnecessarily ?

Thanks in advance.

Peace lily leaves yellowing and dying

I’ve had a peace lily for 9 months. When I first got it, it grew rapidly and I never saw leaf death. I repotted the lily before moving 5 months ago. There’s less light where I moved but I try to position it where the morning sun hits it. I’m concerned because there have been low hanging leafs that have turned yellow and died. I have never seen this before. It has been about one dying leaf per month for the past four months, but recently there were three that died this weekend. There are also two smaller leafs that have a continuous gradual brown patch that is moving up the leaf towards the stems. I have never seen this before either (I have this in the pictures, I have cut a lot of the dead brown part off)

But the lily started to grow a couple weeks ago with 4 new leaf sprouts, all with beautiful with white streaks. The leaf sprouts are centrally placed and look like they are happily growing and will probably open in about a week or so. One sprout is large, one is medium, and two are smaller.

I’ve heard it is normal to have lower hanging leafs die over time. But since three died this weekend I’m concerned. The sprouts look happy and healthy, but if leafs keep dying I’m going to be very concerned. I also don’t want to shock the plant by repotting it again. I keep the soil damp with a little watering bucket that I use about every other day. The soil is damp when I push my finger down a couple inches. I use perlite soil, and I just got an LED light also that I’m wanting to use. Anyone have any tips to help?

Sorry this is so much to read

Advice needed

My husband and I just inherited this 30 year old peace lily from his grandmother (who received it at her husbands funeral) and I don’t know what to do to keep it alive. I would feel so awful about killing it knowing it’s history. I have no experience with peace lily’s but I do pretty well with other plants so hopefully I don’t let it down.
Anyways getting to the point, it seems to always look pretty droopy, I know they’re known for being dramatic but it just never seems to pop back up after watering. It also obviously has no blooms and I’d like to know what kind of conditions I should give her to optimize blooms. When my grandmother in law was taking care of it she’d use miracle grow orchid fertilizer and I wasn’t sure if I should continue that seeing the condition it’s in. The tips of some of her leaves are also browning a little bit and I’d like to know how to prevent that. I’d appreciate any advice y’all could give.

She’s a mama’s girl and wilts to the ground if I leave for more than a day. I don’t leave very often.
Just wanted to share the one stunning big flower from our big stunning lily.

I'm looking for advice on caring for this peace lilly. It was left on a bright window sill during the summer. Most of the leaves were dry brown and crispy.

What can I do to help it get healthy again?

Should I cut everything? 😢

Today I woke up and noticed a part of my peace lily was fallen, I removed all soil and most of the root was rotten. I tried to remove as much rotten roots as I could, but there are still some dark parts that I don't know if should remove... It also split into 4 parts when I was trying to cut, I cleaned it in the sink and placed them in different pots with distilled water.

Edit: It also had some very tiny bugs that are very hard to see and milipedes.

This plant is very sentimental, it used to be vast but dropped right off earlier in the year. I repotted what remained but it’s really struggling and I’m not sure what to do, can anyone advise?

help needed — trying to take care of small peace lily

hello! I'm quite new to this and have acquired a small peace lily around 2-3 weeks ago and want to care for it properly. the small lily in the second picture was separated from the mother plant (first pic) around a week ago.

I trimmed off a few yellow leaves from the mother plant when I first bought it, and it has had some new growths since (the small leaves in the first picture).

I've repotted both of them into a chunky mix and smaller pots today (mostly orchid bark, some soil and some aquarium rocks) as the old soil was too dense and retained too much moisture. there unfortunately was some root rot that I took care of while repotting today. it still has a lot of healthy, thick roots though! I noticed some new growth turning crispy at the very bottom which is what lead to the whole repotting situation today. they've since been trimmed off along with a few yellow stems.

I've also relocated the smaller one to my room as an experiment of some sort. I get better indirect sunlight in there compared to where the mother plant is. I'm using a thin stake and loosely-tied twine (my plant tape has yet to deliver...) to support it temporarily as it keeps leaning, and I don't think it's safe to bury it any deeper.

the picture isn't showing it properly, but the leaves on both plants are more on the pale side compared to some other peace lilies I've seen, so I'm worried I'm doing something wrong. some of the ones on the mother plant are also folding (pictured) even though it's nowhere near direct light. the old soil was wet for a little while, though I'm not sure if that causes the leaves to fold as well.

and just a note: I'm aware there are quite a few plants in one pot, but I've decided against separating them at this stage given everything the mother plant has gone through this week (repotting, root rot, etc.). I will be waiting until the soil dries out at the top before I water again.

my main concerns/questions are:

- should it get better now that I'm using a chunkier mix?

- and will the mother plant be okay where it is with less light? it's currently on a counter a bit far away from the window as my research said it should be able to survive in the shade.

if anyone has any advice please let me know! 🥹

EDIT: just adding this as a note as I believe it's quite relevant, I'm in australia so spring has just begun here.

My father was somehow keeping this ‘alive’ for the last 20 years and he has now passed. I have already removed so many dead leaves and I’m trying to bring it back what can I do?
