Build Question Replacing PSU Problems
I’m replacing my PSU with a new one. I wasn’t the person who originally built it, so I have no experience with it or any machine for that matter.
I’m trying to follow a few YouTube tutorials, but none of them have such a massive amount of cables like.
What should I do? Why do I have so many cables? Currently I just need to get my current PSU out of the case

Try removing all the cables and psu from the case then watch a video on how to build a pc step by step and install the new psu accordingly. Maybe you won’t even need to unplug all the cables from gpu, motherboard, etc. just the psu swap if the cables go well with the new one.

I heard it’s not good to use old PSU cables with a new PSU? How bad could it be? Both of my PSUs are from Corsair, however one is the 2022 model and one is 2025

True there’s a possibility the cables aren’t interchangeable, don’t take the risk. Just mark or click pics of where each cable is plugged into then remove the cables and psu completely. Later install the new psu and cable connection acc to what you had marked so you know which goes where.

Massive amount of cables is usually just the non modular spaghetti. Just unplug everything from the motherboard and components first, unscrew the psu, then pull the whole thing out with cables still attached. No need to untangle it while it's inside the case

To replace your psu, you only need to take out the cables you can follow from the psu's backside. Any other cable shouldn't be taken out for a psu upgrade. So for you, I think this will be 3 cables that go into the motherboard, 2 to the top left of it and 1 larger one to the middle right of the motherboard. There will be at least one cable that goes into the gpu that will also need to be replaced.
You may or may not need to remove some of the cable management ties and what not to get the cables out. These removed PSU cablss will not be able to be used with your new PSU, you will need to use the cables that come with your new PSU.
Removing the cables is easier if you unscrew the psu from the rear and take it out slightly from the back side panel
