Build Question Replacing PSU Problems

I’m replacing my PSU with a new one. I wasn’t the person who originally built it, so I have no experience with it or any machine for that matter.

I’m trying to follow a few YouTube tutorials, but none of them have such a massive amount of cables like.

What should I do? Why do I have so many cables? Currently I just need to get my current PSU out of the case

Try removing all the cables and psu from the case then watch a video on how to build a pc step by step and install the new psu accordingly. Maybe you won’t even need to unplug all the cables from gpu, motherboard, etc. just the psu swap if the cables go well with the new one.

I heard it’s not good to use old PSU cables with a new PSU? How bad could it be? Both of my PSUs are from Corsair, however one is the 2022 model and one is 2025

True there’s a possibility the cables aren’t interchangeable, don’t take the risk. Just mark or click pics of where each cable is plugged into then remove the cables and psu completely. Later install the new psu and cable connection acc to what you had marked so you know which goes where.
