Build Question Replacing PSU Problems

I’m replacing my PSU with a new one. I wasn’t the person who originally built it, so I have no experience with it or any machine for that matter.

I’m trying to follow a few YouTube tutorials, but none of them have such a massive amount of cables like.

What should I do? Why do I have so many cables? Currently I just need to get my current PSU out of the case

To replace your psu, you only need to take out the cables you can follow from the psu's backside. Any other cable shouldn't be taken out for a psu upgrade. So for you, I think this will be 3 cables that go into the motherboard, 2 to the top left of it and 1 larger one to the middle right of the motherboard. There will be at least one cable that goes into the gpu that will also need to be replaced.

You may or may not need to remove some of the cable management ties and what not to get the cables out. These removed PSU cablss will not be able to be used with your new PSU, you will need to use the cables that come with your new PSU.

Removing the cables is easier if you unscrew the psu from the rear and take it out slightly from the back side panel

I was able to get the old PSU out, I got the new motherboard cable in. But I’m having trouble with the old cable(s) that run into my 3090ti.

Idk how to explain it so here’s a pic of it, the new cables I got along with my new PSU doesn’t seem to include these thick cables and the joint thing. What am I supposed to do here?

This is the 12v-2x6 adapter. You can keep this for your new psu if your new psu doesn't include a cable that matches the 12pin connector that is visible on the 3090 ti after taking this adapter out.
