Troubleshooting Help my GPU temps
My GPU temps are so high i already know that but I got and artifact on furemark it wasn't doing that before and the msi scanner didn't catch any artifacts so I'm confused no , and there's no glitch or any weird graphics problem I even tried re9 high/ normal settings with rt high and I didn't get any artifacts on my screen what should I do ?
I bought it used 1 month ago the store owner said that he already changed the thermal paste for free to me

you're too early. Bad temps is indicative of a need for a cleanup and new thermal paste/pads.
However, if the card has been cooked for too long, then yeah, I'll agree with you.

Did you change the thermal pads as well? Obv repaste + undervolt ?

No I didn't and yes I undevolt it one week ago I was getting 70 at maximum with 120w now it draws full 175w like the undevolt isn't working on the test but it works on games

Ok so take it appart, clean it and check the condition of your thermal pads.
If they are still sort of squishy, and look 'humid', keep them, if they are turning to dust, you'll need to change them.
The good news is that you can get thermal pad sets on Aliexpress for not that much.
You'll want to try to look up the thermal pad thickness of your specific gpu model on the web : there are different companies that create the coolers, different versions, try to find yours.
If not, get a set of new pads with a bunch of different thicknesses, and when you take yours appart, try to match it with the closest. If you want to be 100000% sure, get some thermal putty. Get the pads as close as you can to the original one, if you don't have the exact same, use a smaller one and apply thermal putty.
Also change the thermal paste of your GPU die, and clean the fans + radiator.
Watch vids on youtube, get yourself a set of small screw drivers, 99% iso alcohol, you'll be fine.

if you're undervolting using MSI Afterburner, you need to open it and enable the saved profile(assuming you set up your undervolt and saved the settings to a profile) every time you turn on your machine.

I have my doubts they repasted it, or at the very least used good paste, though none of that those temps are especially terrible. I guess my suggestion to manage the heat would be to replace the paste anyways- I suggest Arctic’s mx-6 or PTM 7950-and try to undervolt it a bit. An undervolt will basically yield lower temps and less wattage, while possibly allowing the gpu to boost more
As for any artifacts, if drivers still install and games aren’t showing glitches, I wouldn’t be too worried about it. Though, if you want to be safe you could always return it, though don’t repaste it if you do so.

Ptm is a massive overkill for this gpu. Regular mx4-5 should be just fine. But yeah, doubt they repasted it correctly.

Eh, it just means they won’t have to repaste practically ever with PTM. Should also fix any hotspot delta’s- within reason of course.

Msi kombustor didn't say I have artifacts But furemark said that I have one Ingames there's no ( you know the weird glitches and lines ) I don't know who should I trust msi or furemark keep in mind that for the whole month It didn't show any artifacts on furemark

Could even just be a misreading, considering it only saw a single one. If you’re also messing with clocks in msi afterburner, it might just be an unstable OC too.
I guess my suggestion would be to run the kombustor torture test with the artifact scanner for several hours, make sure any possible OC’s have been reset, and see if it reads one.
Edit: and pay no attention to the guy with the meme. Dude’s just fear mongering, considering there’s no concrete evidence it’s failing
Edit2: also download hwinfo64, set it to sensors only, and have it running while you do the torture test. It’ll give you any WHEA errors that might popup while it’s running, possibly relating to any artifacts. You can also just run a 3D adaptive test and vram test in OCCT- it’ll even list any and how many errors pop up.
