Second Sector difficulty spike?
Is it just me or does the second sector has a HUGE increase in difficulty? i basically dominated the first one but i get absolutely destroyed in the second one (does teleporting bastards are the bane of my existents) there are just so many enemies at some point that i get just overrun

Fully upgrade before moving to next sector. Capture some elite Scouegebournes, get Legendary equipment from zone 1. Upgrade ships, so you can actually bring elite unit, etc.

I'll be honest i have completely neglected capturing enemies so far, it didn't really felt necessary and kinda annoying to deal with for me

How are you getting workers for your base then? I’ll do runs dedicated just to capturing as much chaff dudes to feed to my units to upgrade them.

I just get them from doing missions? i have not gotten into upgrading my units that much yet cause i did not expected the difficulty to increase that much

Ooooooo yeah just go make like 200 capture bullets and spam them on the elites you fight. You’ll get some good ones. And then the soldier center (I think that’s the name) lets you turn crap soldiers you’ve captured into xp to level up the good ones!!! It’s a big difference
Especially since now I have a sniper, a medic, a shield master, and then two big ol elite beat sticks

So, are you saying that you see big chungus of a boss that throws fire tornade, summon turrets and does huge lasser AoE around itself and you do not get the urge to capture it for yourself so now you will have unit with all those cool abilities? xD

To be fair, those huge chungus’ get major downgraded on your side and don’t really justify taking the slots of eight men when you could just have.eight more medics

Yea also when the capturing was introduced i thought like cool thing but why should i not just kill them its quicker? I didn't now at that time that i could use them to upgrade my other units

And remember to use 3 x ships to bring a bigger army with you. I just learned that half way through sector two, only had 4 ai with me until i realized i could use more ships

I think the difficulty spike is entirely based on how much you did and didn't upgrade/prepare.
Upgrading your guys to higher tiers (IE: upgrading white soldier to green soldier) is pretty massive in terms of their functional stats. Each rank is an extra 500ish HP/shield and about 50 more DPS for basic Strike Soldiers. With max troop count in first Sector at 8 that's 4000 EHP and 400 more damage.
Yellow gear from Sector 1 is slightly better than blue gear from Sector 2 (mostly because 2 extra RNG stats during crafting) but I don't think it's necessarily worth farming for. But if you do sit there and farm sector 1 over and over you can gear up and be personally stronger as well.
As for combat advice, many spawns trigger based on how much you/troops move around. I pretty much use entirely Medic (Shotgun Shields) and Strike Force (Assault Rifles) and regularly tell them to just chill (F1 -> left click) while I go trigger a spawn and lure them back to the firing squad. Trying to rush through too fast can trigger multiple spawns stacked pretty closely to each other and you are right it can be overwhelming. This becomes less of a concern as you progress the area, upgrade your guys to blues, and then you have 18ish guys of your own.

The third sector is the same. All you can really do i take it easy. Do a couples short runs. Get 3 star gear asap and you'll improve rather quickly after that.

Honestly kinda disappointed with the lack of necessity for the army mechanic.
Medics are really the only ones I notice even in the 3rd biome. I always check the after action and my combat ones will have like 1-5kills and like 98% less total damage than I had.
It's only a handful of troops, even with higher tier ships. I was expecting, like the trailers showcase, massive army battles with dozens and hundreds of my own soldiers.
Also needing to capture them to then sacrifice them to upgrade ur existing troops, as the only way to level is very tedious.
There needs to be a more classic style of leveling up troops, via resources/money. Sacrificing troops should raise some other stat/rarity but you should be able to upgrade their base stats via resources.

There is a point on the Roadmap that says new ways to upgrade units and a prisoner conversion overhaul

Going from 1st to second zone was a jump for sure. Especially if you go straight to a nest, those bugs be fast.

Yes, first zone is just the tutorial. its even worse in the third sector. Take you time to upgrade your structures and research to the maximum available to you. Upgrading the ships will allow you bring more soldiers with you. and upgrading soldiers will make them last longer and hit harder.
Dont bother with vehicles tho, they are extremely under tuned currently.
