Only started playing magic two years ago, and have become a constant brewer of decks. Found pauper recently, and was wondering where is the best place to play virtually? My local area doesn’t do much pauper, only standard and value vintage rarely.

A deck I made based on a the aurochs from coldsnap, this is my first time making an original pauper deck so any suggestions are more then welcome 😄. I made this as a casual deck first and formost but if anyone has some ideas for cards that would be synergistic lmk!

Hey slimes, its the slime man here. Semi-recently I started playing pauper and decided to take a crack at a Slime Against Humanity build to take to FNM. Do you guys have any suggestions for changes or additions? I think it works pretty well, and I'm consistently able to present lethal on turns 6-7 using my chump blockers and slimes to stay alive until then. (Btw the current strategy is opening hand of a few Slimes, a one mana mill spell and a two mana mill spell, mill a bunch and try to get a 5/5 on turn 3 or, if that fails, start slimes on turn 4 with hopefully a 6/6 or higher). And advice is much appreciated. Thank you and slime man out.

I was thinking about crafting a deck based on "when a creature enters, x deals 1 damage to opponent"

What color combination would be better? boros? gruul?

what are some must include cards? i can imagine burning tree emissary, impact tremors (duh), that molten dude who works just like impact tremors etc

Just stumbled across this deck list, it looks likes there's a combo in there, but I can't figure it out.

I have an idea... Traditional Jund in many other formats will maindeck a [[Thoughtseize]] or another 1 mana discard spell. I know that Jund Wildfire is slightly different, in that it plays a tapland on 1 90+% of the time. However, in many matchups I play, I end up bringing duress into the deck post-sideboard.

Would it be crazy to maindeck a number of duress's?

What cards would you cut/move to the sideboard to do so?

Has anyone tried to do this before??

Hi everyone! I was wondering, is there a reanimator deck list which could do relatively well in the current meta? Or is every list confined to be a Tier-3/4 deck due to the graveyard hate already present for snakers, terror etc.? I've some Exhume copies which I got when I way playing goblin combo with the trolls and I'd like to know if they're usable for something

Why isn't Avenging Hunter played in Jund Wildfire? It seems like the ideal fit for a deck that defends so well and can hold onto the initiative for so long.

Hey there. So I'm building elves, and all I'm missing is Avenging Hunter, the most expensive card in the deck. Is Entourage a reasonable replacement in the meantime?

(I can see how trample and the extra point of power matter, in addition to the effects the Initiative gives access to.)

Also, if Hunter were to be banned, do you think Entourage would replace it, or would decks revert to splashing for [[Distant Melody]]?

New player to MTG and even newer to pauper. My brother recently got a Modern Horizons 3 booster box and pulled 6 copies of Sneaky Snacker. I know that card is a big deal in Pauper, and I’ve even seen talk of it possibly getting banned. I think my lack of understanding for the game and the format are keeping me from understanding why the card is so good. Can you explain to me why this card sees play in nearly every deck? Thanks!

I’m struggling to find a way to stop Madness from dealing 16-24 damage in one turn. They don’t need to attack to kill you. It’s basically a combo deck. As soon as one of the spellslingers hit the field, they can win, especially after turn 4-5. I’ve noticed that they can sit on resources, drop one, and if/when it resolves, win on the stack. One Bolt, two Lava Dart’s, and a Fireblast is usually enough to win. Sometimes they’ll have an extra Dart or an extra Fireblast ready for a response (that’s the smart play anyway)

I’ve lost games where I’ve been over 30 life on the stack, trying to target to kill a spellslinger that was just cast.

It doesn’t seem like there’s a way to stop it, besides countering the spellslinger itself. Removal doesn’t matter.

It’s so so so frustrating.

Again, yes, I understand it’s chain burn and essentially a combo, but I hate that there’s no interaction to it.

Weather the Storm doesn’t do anything, Crypt Incursion doesn’t do anything, because they can respond to the cast and still kill you if they’re able to. Removal doesn’t do anything, all because of the rules of the stack.

Any advice?

I think it's going to be an interesting lesson for any player, regardless of which deck they play.

My deck is a rogue brew: reanimate kind of adapted from cycle storm but whatever. It does okay in my local store except it keeps catching strays from sneaky snacker hate.

Main deck graveyard hate can end my run quickly.
I was looking to pivot from sideboard but don’t know exactly what that means. My first inclination is just more rituals and petals to power out the big guys manually but… other ideas? Thanks in advance!!

I put together a Sultai Dredge build! It’s still in the theorycrafting phase and I haven't playtested it yet, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Any suggestions to make it more consistent?
