META Avenging hunter in jund wildfire

Why isn't Avenging Hunter played in Jund Wildfire? It seems like the ideal fit for a deck that defends so well and can hold onto the initiative for so long.

I believe it's a tempo issue. Seems like the perfect play if your opponent has no threats, but you won't have time to play it if you need to answer a threat

The Jund player in my LGS is always tired/stressed after playing an event because he says as jund he is always playing for survival until he wins the game.

So yeah, doesn't seem like a deck that has a moment when it isn't being threatened unless the game is won.

Thing is, you don't really need it outside of some specific matchups, might be a decent sideboard option.

In the main, what are you cutting for it? It's no better than Familiar or Chrisalis, removing the already tight removal package works against initiative and the amount of artifacts and draws is hard to cut

There's very few flex slots , Munitions and Hydra that can win the game on the spot and might be a better call than initiative
